Work Text:
He really should've seen the wire in front of him.
To be fair, his field of vision was severely blocked by the stack of boxes he was carrying up the stairs.
But still.
When Moo felt his leg catch on the stray obstacle, he had one vivid thought shoot through.
Fuck. I'm going to fall.
And he would've ended up face first into the ajar front door of his apartment, if he hadn't been caught just moments before disaster.
A firm, yet gentle set of hands grabbed him by the waist, dragging Moo back to steady him, while reaching out to place the boxes he was holding to the ground.
Moo, who had closed his eyes in anticipation for the inevitable feeling of hitting the floor, was met instead with the disapproving look of his boyfriend, who retreated his hand once he was sure the younger boy wasn't going to collapse.
He shot Kang a massive grin, hoping it would at least cheer his boyfriend up before he got a (well deserved) scolding.
Leaning against the front door of the new apartment, Kang shook his head.
"I told you I'd help you with the boxes! These are your training things, why are you carrying them so high you can't even see in front of you, and you know its dangerous."
Moo winced.
"Phi, don't be mad, naaa~ I was just trying to help. You can help with the other ones, okay?"
Moo blinked innocently, grinning when he saw Kang shake his head in fake disappointment.
His hand moved to rub his eyebrow, as he turned away as to hide the small smile on his face
He's embarrassed
Moo, being the lovingly annoying person he was, knew he had to make the most of his shy boyfriend.
Grabbing onto his hand, Kang's eyes snapped back to the younger boy.
"Phi.. Surely the boxes can wait. There's only a few left in the car, and ma doesn't need it back until next week. Lets go explore, huh?"
And without waiting for a response, he dragged his boyfriend into the apartment, as the door locked behind them
++++
Slumping down onto the couch, Moo rubbed his eyes and squinted to peer up at the face standing above him.
He'd spent the last half hour dragging Kang around the apartment, pointing out all the features and cool things he could think of, somehow even more surprised than the first time they came to take a look.
Phi, there's so much space, I can do all my stretching here!
Phi, you can set up your art studio here, there's so much natural sunlight!
Phi, this is our apartment!!
That last statement had really stuck with Kang.
Their apartment.
It was crazy to think, that only a year ago Moo discovered those blank letters and they'd managed to reconcile, and now they were living together in this small place.
With Kang's dorm lease coming to an end, and Moo's trainee dorm being given to the new set of rookies, and they somehow managed to find this apartment that was an equal distance from both their college and training building.
Moo called it destiny, while Kang begrudgingly (yet affectionately) agreed.
After a bit, even the most energetic of people get tired, hence as Moo squints up, he feels himself dragged towards the bedroom that Kang had pre-emptively set up.
He would never admit it, but he was dead tired. He'd had training in the morning and had tripped twice carrying those boxes before Kang had caught him.
Kang knew this. In his particular fashion, he gently tugged the boy to the bed, leaving a chaste kiss on his lips as to convince him to sleep, with the promise of Kai Palo.
Moo drifted off after that, reassured and warmed.
My boyfriend's amazing. I can't wait to live with him
The rest of the moving boxes lay forgotten, as the two slipped into a dreamland of new beginnings.
