Work Text:

Thomas woke up to some sunlight coming from their closed curtains. He was also being crushed underneath both Flux and Saps. Not like he minded it all that much, they were all busy people so having them both with him, so relaxed, was nice.

It was unusual he woke up first, Saparata most of the time was already up and making breakfast way before either Thomas or Fluixon woke up. Then it frequently was that Flux woke up before Thomas.

He felt Saps shifting before he groaned and opened his eyes. They widened a bit when Saparata saw him already awake.

"Well aren't you up early?" Saps whispered his voice a bit raspy. "Hm. Wanna help me make breakfast?"

Thomas nodded before Saparata got up and helped him successfully get Flux off of him without waking him up. He mumbled something about it being an outrage against Luminara, whatever that was.

While in their, albeit small kitchen. Thomas couldn't help but stare at Saparata. Morning rays of sunlight illuminating his nearly black eyes, making them look faintly red. Complexion as pale as ever, he looked like a porcelain doll that Thomas just wanted keep in a beautiful display and never let go.

"Are you just going to stare my Orchid?" Saparata smirked, he knew damn well how beautiful he was. In high school he constantly got anonymous, and sometime not, confessions. When Thomas got enough courage he put one in his locker too, he even signed it. Words couldn't describe how ecstatic he was when Saparata reciprocated.

"Well what else am i supposed to do when a beauty like you is standing before me?"

"Alright dear, now lets see…" Saparata was blushing slightly after he said it. He was now looking through their kitchen to see what they could make for breakfast. "We could make some scrambled eggs.. Oh! We should have just enough ingredients to make some pancakes!"

"Only just enough?" Thomas questioned, how were they already so low on things? They went shopping this week! "Don't tell me we need to go shopping again."

"We didn't buy flour last time, or sugar…" Saps trailed off and started muttering what they need to but the next time they go. "Might as well buy more eggs we have 4 left."

"Alright! I'll start on the batter and you make a new shopping list then." He interrupted Saps so they would actually start making the pancakes. Both of them get so easily distracted.

"Right… right lemme get a pen and some paper!"

After he quietly ran off to their room Thomas started mixing the dry ingredients for the pancakes.

One and a half cups of flour, then three and a half teaspoons of baking powder and a tablespoon of sugar. After mixing them he added one and a quarter glass of milk, 45 grams of butter and one egg into the mixture.

Somewhere along the mixing, Saparata came back and started writing the ingredients they needed to buy next time.

"My Orchid, do you think we need to buy more milk? Oh, I didn't check how much coffee we have left could you check that?" Thomas quickly checked their cabinet after putting a pan on the stove to heat up. They still had quite a lot of coffee which he informed Saps of.

While he cooked the pancakes he and Saps talked about some things. Thomas learned that Schpood was planning to propose to Jophiel next month and was bugging Saps about what kind of ring to buy her. He told Saparata how the conspiracy was planning a small get together that he and Flux forgot to mention.

Saparata also said that his twin Micro finally agreed to get help for his drug addiction and how proud he was of his brother.

"Well the pancakes are done." Thomas announced after getting the last pancake off the pan. "Will you go wake up our Hyacinth?"

"Will do!" Saps exclaimed and ran off to their shared bedroom.

Thomas had a big sappy grin on his face. He loved the rare mornings where all three of them could relax and enjoy each others presence.

He still remembers that one faithful night when Saparata confined in him how he was still in love with Thomas's best friend and how he was so sorry that he couldn't give his full love to him only. How Saparata swore that he still loved him but the guilt of also loving another man was eating him alive.

How he teared up because he was afraid Thomas would leave him because of it and he will try everything to get rid off these feelings.

They talked nearly through the entire night. Thomas told his dear Sunflower how he also loved Fluixon, how he tried again and again to get over his love. He thought he did after they got together.

"Woooow so I was your second choice Thomas?"

"How cruel of you mister."

"No! I loved you both the same!"

Thomas didn't want to ruin his friendship, too scared to lose what he had with Flux.

"Want to try to "court" him?"

"You literally cried not too long ago on my shoulder how you hated that you loved two people Saps."

"So?"

"…"

"Yeah sure, we've got each other now if something goes wrong, no?"

"Of course my Orchid."

In the end they all started dating. Both Saps and he teased Flux about how oblivious he was to their flirting. Well, Fluixon had a good excuse why it wasn't that obvious as to why both of his best friends, that were dating each other, started semi courting him.

"Yeah so we made pancakes!" Saparata exclaimed while dragging one very clearly still asleep Fluixon. Flux hummed in response.

"Do I get coffee?"

"Of course my Hyacinth!" And of he goes to their kettle, turning it on.

"Good morning Flux."

"Hi." Flux laid his head on the table and closed his eyes. He was so cute.

"Your back is gonna hurt if you stay like that."

"Doon't careee."

Saparata sat next to Flux with a cup of coffee that he then pushed toward him. Thomas meanwhile got each their own plate of pancakes and placed it on the table. Everyone had some maple syrup on them. He needed to tell Saps that they've ran out and to add it to the list.

Thomas hoped that they could have more mornings like these.

Notes:

i landed on orchids as they symbolise strength admiration loyalty and dedication and i felt like it fit
