Work Text:
Misa wakes up… not feeling like shit, surprisingly.
When he accepted napping with Sam, he thought he would end up not sleeping much, the pain in his head still bothering him.
Well, it's 3pm and he feels great, although he wouldn't mind sleeping a bit more. Except for the fact his bed is empty, which is really not ideal for his plan.
The logical plan would be to go look for Sam — he is definitely still in the house, somewhere — or send him a text. But Misa has no idea where his phone is, and he feels way too lazy to get up now.
He is also sure despite feeling better, he looks like hell, and Cat doesn't need to know about his hungover — she would totally grill Toff about letting him drink so much.
His last option is waiting for Sam to return. Which takes what seems like ages, but is probably only 10 minutes.
“Finally, what took you so long?” Misa whines when the door of his room opens, Sam entering with looks like bags of food.
“I was gone for literally 5 minutes,” which Misa thinks is definitely a lie, it felt way longer.
“I couldn't sleep, you were gone sooooo long,” Misa complains.
“And I got us food,” Sam completes, speaking over Misa.
“Ooh, food,” now that Misa thinks about it, he is starving.
Sam chuckles fondly, “Yeah buddy, someone gotta keep you alive.”
They eat sitting side by side, stealing bites off of each others meals. It's good and Misa's stomach doesn't protest or make him immediately have to run to the bathroom and throw up, which means he's finally done with the worse of the hungover.
With a full belly and still tired, Misa bats his eyes and pouts at Sam, “Another nap?”
Sam looks at him with an unimpressed expression, “didn't you already sleep enough?”
“Nope,” Misa shakes his head, “also, I woke up alone, and I missed your arms around me… so you need to make it up for it.”
Sam complains as he cleans up their plates and cups from the bed.
He still ends up in bed hugging Misa as he goes back to sleep.
