Work Text:

Leon very much appreciated evenings like that.

After mind-numbing day of paperwork in DSO's office, coming home to the hot shower was a blessing. Even bigger blessing was hearing a knock at his apartment's door, just to find Chris Redfield behind them, dripping sex-appeal in his leather jacket and rough stubble, and with bag of pipping hot Chinese take-out.

"Did you order pad-thai and spring rolls?" Chris leaned his forearm on the frame of Leon's door, getting closer to the blonde and wiggling his brow at him.

"That's me, but do you think we can work out some other type of payment..." Leon murmured sliding his finger down Chris's chest to stop at the belt, where he tugged at it, to bring Chris over the threshold of his apartment. "It seems I misplaced my wallet..." Leon nipped him lightly at the edge of his jaw.

"We can work something out..." Chris smirked at him and kicked his door behind him. Not a second later he wrapped his hand around Leon's waist to crash their chests together before he placed teasing kiss on Leon's lips.

"Missed you." Leon said before placing another kiss on Chris.

"Me too. That's way I'm here." Chris smiled at his boyfriend and moved around him to set up the food on the coffee table in the living room.

"Did you also take fortune cookies?" Leon trailed behind Chris, but made a detour to the kitchen.

"Am I not an enough of a dessert for your sweet tooth?" Chris complained teasingly, taking his jacket off and throwing it over one side of the couch.

Leon lost his train of thought at the sight of Chris's enormous biceps flexing under his black t-shirt. It looked like it was painted onto his skin with how material moved with muscles.

He might've drooled a little, if the sound of his phone didn't rip him from his deep appreciation of his boyfriends physique. For three seconds it took Leon to get his phone, he was scared that his work would interrupt their evening, that looked better and better with every second. Fortunately, the name on the screen brought relief and slight agitation on being distracted from his 'meal'.

"To what do I owe the pleasure of you finally reaching out to me, Oliveira?" Leon answered the phone, putting it on speaker and reached into his fridge for the two non-alcoholic beers. "Have BOWs finally got your ass?"

"You wish, Kennedy" Carlos laughed at him. "I'm calling to tell you I met this chick..."

"So you go M.I.A for two months because you met some girl?" Incredulousness dripped from Leon's voice, as he sat on the couch next to Chris, which already started digging in into their food. Leon took a sip of his beer, watching how Chris expertly used his chopsticks. Damn, his boyfriend was so hot. Leon couldn't wait to get his paws on him.

"Not just some chick, dude. The chick." Carlos was really fighting for his attention. Leon can't be blamed for leaning more into his lustful thoughts about Chris. Their relationship was quite new and Leon couldn't get enough of his man.

But during another lazy appraisal of Chris' body, Carlos's words finally registered in his brain.

"The one you met back in the day? The one you told me about? This chick?" Leon's brain supplied him with the memory of them talking after one of their joint missions in South America.

"Yup. And can you believe that she's more of a firecracker than she was before? Oh man, she's such a badass! She could mop the floor with me and I would thank her for it." Carlos voice got that dreamy quality that sickened Leon back in the day. Actually, no, it still made him uneasy at how whipped his friend was over a woman he barley knew. But that just pot meeting the kettle.

"Okay, simp. Calm down. I'm happy for you." Leon appreciated the call and catch up session but at the same time he hoped that their conversation was coming to the end, because his noodles were getting cold.

"Thanks man." Carlos' happiness was so radiant that it was almost palpable through the phone. "So..."

"So..." Leon parroted back, just before Chris put a half of spring roll in his mouth.

"So I had this idea. But first, remind me, you swing both ways, right?"

"Carlos, the fuck?" Leon almost chocked and he could see in the corner of his eye, as Chris was dying from laughter.

"Oh, get over yourself, I just need to know." Carlos was relentless.

"So you can set me up with someone you already have in mind and go on double dates with you and your girl?" Leon speculated, shooting daggers at still laughing Chris.

"How do you always know what I'm going to say?" Carlos pouted.

"Because you're so predictable!" Leon had enough of this conversation. He much preferred to use his mouth for other activites.

"So you'll do it?" hope was unmistakable in Carlos's voice.

"Fuck no."

"Oh, c'mon, man! Please?"

"I know you're in love or something, so you clearly are looking at the world through that pink or heartshapped glasses shit, but I'm good" Leon declined, not liking the thoughtful look on Chris's face.

"No, you're single for too long. You need to get some action or you'll start moaning the next time zombie grazes you" Carlos definitely wasn't pulling his punches. But he would be surprised how much action he was getting. And he would've been getting more if not for this stupid phone call.

Leon glanced at Chris, hoping for the support in his resistance to the idea. But it looked like something clicked inside his brain and metaphorical light bulb lit up in his head. "Do it." he whispered, to not alert Carlos that was still on speaker phone.

"What?!" Leon's eyes almost bulged out of his head at the suggestion. Was he the only sane in this moment?

"Just do it!" Chris rushed him, Carlos' voice droning in the background.

"Okay, okay!" Leon shouted to interrupt his friend's tyrad. "I'll do it. But I have two conditions." he couldn't believe he was doing this. Chris better have some good reasoning for all of this. "You'll pay for it and it is the first and last time I'm doing this. Capich?"

"Sure, whatever. I can't believe it worked. You won't regret it!" Carlos got too excited for Leon's taste. That didn't promise anything good.

"Ok, send me the details, when you get everything ready." and Leon disconnected the call without saying goodbye. He had enough of that bonkers conversation.

He turned to his boyfriend, incredulity clearly marring his face and asked "What the fuck, Redfield?"

"I know, I know how it looks, but listen." Chris raised his hands in placating manner.

"You go on one 'date' with some doofus, obviously it won't work out..." Chris rolled his eyes and in that moment Leon was reminded how similar Redfield siblings were because Leon could swear Claire did that same thing. "... you will get your friends out of your back and we will be able to resume our peaceful dating."

"You mean secret dating?" Leon quirked one brow at his boyfriend.

"Potato, potatoh" Chris rolled his eyes again and got up to stand in front of Leon.

"You're so fucking lucky that you're insanely hot and my brain turns off when I look at you" Leon told him, looking up into Chris' handsome face.

"Oh, I definitely am" Chris smirked, bending down to Leon and placing tender kiss on his lips, before lifting him by his thighs and entwining them around his waist. "Now, I waited enough for my dessert."

"What about my dinner?" Leon whined, but made himself comfortable in Chris' embrace.

"I'll reheat it for you. Now is time for something sweet and I'll be getting my piece of cake" to emphasize his words, Chris squeezed his boyfriend's ass, making sure that Leon had no doubts about his meaning and made his way to the bedroom.

The Doofus he had a blind date with was running late.

Which gave more time for Leon to regret every single of his desicions.

Again, why did he agree to this shit? He must've hurt his head or switch to another reality, where he would be spending his precious time with random dude, struggling to survive this encounter, instead of parking his sweet ass on his boyfriend's hot lap.

Speaking of his boyfriend, why was Chris making his way to him?

Did he change his mind?

Looking at the confusion etched in his face, Chris definitely wasn't here to rescue him from his blind date.

They stood in front of each other, suspicion radiating between them.

"What are you doing here?" Chris asked, clearly not connecting the dots in his head.

"Chris, please." Leon couldn't help himself, sarcasm flew straight out of him.

"Right, sorry, dumb question." Chris got sheepish, scratching the back of his head in a nervous tick.

"I should rather ask you, what are you doing here?" Leon quirked and eyebrow at him. "If not to be my knight in shining armor to rescue me from horrible date?"

"Jill asked me for a favor. She told me that she had a lonely friend and that they could use an afternoon of fun." Chris shrugged his shoulders.

"And you agreed to that, just like that?" Leon didn't know what to feel in this moment.

"It was I.O.U., I had to do it!" Chris tried to justify his actions.

"You really need to stop betting against Jill." Leon sighed deeply "It clearly doesn't work for you." he pat lightly on Chris' chest.

"So..."

"So... it seems that our friends set us up for our 'first date'" Leon didn't hesitate making quotation marks with his fingers. "At least it explains, why Carlos is so whipped." he snickered.

"Jill being 'that chick' was definitely not on my bingo card." Chris laughed lightly.

"No wonder he's so head over-heels for her. If she made that good of a impression on him years ago, then I'm surprised he's still in this mortal world with us when she is such a badass now."

The ridiculousness of the situation started to hit them, their giggling transforming into full body laughs, tears of mirth leaking from their eyes as they tried to support each other from falling down.

After they calmed down, Leon asked "You want to still go on that date?"

"Huh?" Chris wiped the last of his tears.

"Carlos payed for the date. So... we can still use it. You wanna?"

"Sure, I'll never say no to the date with you." Chris smiled at him and took him by his hand.

Carlos decided to corner Leon after three days after his 'blind' date.

Leon let him take him for lunch at one of their favorite diners. Where food was as greasy as it was good.

Leon basked in Carlos' anxiousness, getting immense amounts of pleasure from his friends squirming, trying to think of the way how to breach the subject of the data.

Apparently, Carlos decided to drop any pretenses of subtlety and get straight to the point after their food was delivered to their table.

"So, how was the date?"

"Surprisingly good" Leon hummed, avoiding Carlos' gaze on purpose.

"Yeah? C'mon, man, give me something more than that."

"At the beginning I was very much surprised at who was my date, but after that we had great time together. Thanks for that." Leon did pat Carlos in sign of appreciation for his efforts.

"See? And you were so apprehensive about the whole thing." Carlos relaxed in his seat opposite of Leon. "Will there be a second date?" Leon could hear the notes of hope and giddiness in his friend's voice. He probably was already thinking of the ways how to set up that double dates. So eager.

"Yeah, obviously." Leon hoped that Carlos couldn't see the mischievous glint that was shining in his eyes. "You and Jill did such a good job of setting me on a blind date with my secret boyfriend, it would be weird if I didn't go out with him again, right?" Okay, bomb has been dropped. The time to appreciate the emotional carnage it would cause was now.

"Wait, how you know about Jill? I never told you her name." poor Carlos. Maybe Leon should feel sorry for him? Nah, he deserved it after the whole farce.

"WHAT SECRET BOYFRIEND?!" And there it is. Sweet taste of revenge.
