It's my anniversary today! It's been 6 years since I went to Earth and met Haruki and the rest of STORAGE! Actually, me and Haruki parted ways a while ago, so I miss them... It would be nice to visit or talk with them for a while, but senior Mebius' friends tried sending him a message before and it took years for it to arrive, so I don't think I'll get one for myself any time soon hehe... But I trust Yuka's ultra-genius will be able to solve that problem!
As for the things happening here at the land of light... MASTER ZERO HAS BEEN AVOIDING ME!!! [Sobbing]
It's not unusual for master to avoid me, I have to go out of my way to talk to him!!! But it's different this time... He would usually just look annoyed but still talk to me, but he's been flying away anytime I'm near!
I don't know what I did for him to avoid me so much. Did I accidentally say something bad to him and I just forgot?! Or has he finally had enough of me?!
[Door knock] [Door opening]
Other voice: Hey Zett, are you okay? You're being quite loud.
Z: Oh! Sorry brother Ace! I'm just recording a voice memo!
Other voice: I didn't know voice memos included crying! [Laughing]
Z: B-brother Ace! Um- I'm not actually crying!
Other voice: I know, I know, just try not to scream, okay? And come back down for dinner, I have something special for your earth anniversary.
Z: Okay! Thank you!
[Door closing]
Uh, where was I... Oh yeah! Master Zero! I don't know what I did! I really don't! I thought we were close enough that he'd tell me if I did something wrong or something that he doesn't like! Like look-
Oh right, voice memo! Uh, I'm holding the new generation brooch that master gave me like, two years ago? Shouldn't this be proof that our relationship as master and disciple has already evolved into something that doesn't need this silent treatment?!
[Metal clinking]
Ah! I need to be more careful with this... Oh, I know! I'll ask some people around! I did see Zero talking to some of them...
[Phone ringing] [Finger tapping on desk]
Other voice: Hello?
Z: Geed!
Other voice: Hey Z, can I ask you something? Oh, I should mention I'm recording my voice memo right now!
Other voice: Oh, uh, putting me right on the spot... Sure, what is it?
Z: I saw master talking to you earlier, but he flew off as soon as I arrived, did I do something wrong?!
Other voice: Ah, well...
Z: [Sobbing]
Other voice: H-hey, calm down... He's just uh, busy with something, yeah.
Z: Busy with what?
Other voice: Work? It's pretty important so he didn't really have the time to deal with you.
Z: Deal with me?
Other voice: Ah, shoot. Er, you know what I mean, Zett.
Z: What did I do wrong!!
Other voice: You uh, didn't... O-oh! Pega's calling for me, sorry, gotta go. Oh, and happy anniversary! Let's hang out tomorrow, okay?
[Phone beep]
Master doesn't have time to 'deal with me'?! What does that mean?!
Hmm let's see... I saw him talking to grandmaster Leo and Seven... But I'm not close enough to call them both...
[Phone ringing]
G-grandmaster Seven is calling me?!
Other voice: Zett.
Z: U-um, good evening, grandmaster...
Other voice: How have you been?
Z: I've been excellent! Um, did you need something?
Other voice: No, I just wanted to say happy anniversary to you.
Z: Y-you remembered?!
Other voice: Of course I remembered. The earth and humanity is something I greatly treasure, and I always smile when I hear that more ultras feel the same way. You are one of them, Zett.
Z: Wah... I'm ultra-honored!
Other voice: No, no. I should be the one honored that you've taken a liking to humanity and helped them survive and grow, even to this day. I'm proud to call you my disciple.
Z: Grandmaster...
Other voice: Don't let my words get into your head now.
Z: N-not at all! I'm glad we can bond over our love for humanity!
Other voice: So do I. Oh, your grandmaster Leo is with me too, I think he has something to say.
Other voice: Zett?
Z: G-grandmaster Leo!
Other: Hey. You know, we should probably be congratulating you in person.
Z: It's okay! I don't mind! Oh, uh- Sorry I forgot to mention I've been recording my voice memo this whole time, I can delete it if you guys-
Other voice: It's quite alright, you can keep recording. I'm sure Seven doesn't mind as well.
Other voice: Just make sure this is for your ears only. [Laugh]
Z: Yes!
Other voice: What was I going to say again? Oh, yes. I wanted to say happy anniversary to you as well. I consider earth as my second- no, my true home. When I heard news that you landed on Earth during that whole incident, I was worried that you were going to end up in the same situation as me- lost and lonely. But I'm glad you manage to have found a human to bond with, and not be stuck with a grumpy old man like your grandmaster over here. [Laugh]
Other voice: Oi.
Other voice: Anyway, what I'm saying is... Cherish Earth and humanity the same way you do now, and I'll not ever be ashamed to announce you as one of my disciples, much like Seven. But don't get too comfortable, train your mind and body everyday, don't let your guard down too low, you never know when- Hey!
Other voice: That's enough of him, have a nice evening, Zett.
Z: Grandmaster Leo and Seven... Thank you so much!! Y-your words means so much to me. [Crying]
Other voice: [Laughing], I'm glad our words made you happy. If only my son was as honest...
Z: U-um, actually, I wanted to ask... Do you know why master Zero has been avoiding me lately.
Other voice: Hm?
Z: Everytime I approach him, he just flies away without saying anything!
Other voice: Sure sounds like your son. [Laugh]
Other voice: I see... That's just Zero being Zero. Don't think about it too much.
Z: Huhu...
Other voice: Word of advice, don't believe every mean word he says. He's just playing hard to get.
Z: H-hard to get...?
Other voice: I heard he only does that to you, right Seven?
Other voice: I think we're saying too much now. [Laughing]
Z: Hey! Do you guys mean that-
Other voice: You'll find out soon enough. Goodbye, Zett.
[Phone beep]
Huh?! Huh?!
Ahh my head hurts... I don't know how to ultra-process this!! But! But!! Grandmaster Seven and Leo said they were proud of me... Hehehehehehe...!
[Footsteps]
I'm officially their apprentice!!! Now it's just master Zero who needs to acknowledge me... Wah...
[Door knock]
Other voice: Hey Zett, you've got a visitor.
Z: Oh! I'm coming in a second!
Other voice: There's no need to, he's coming to your room.
Z: Oh, okay! I guess I should end my voice memo here. Bye bye!
[End of voice log]
Zett wraps up the recording, setting his voice recorder aside in his table and preparing himself for this visitor of his. He keeps his door open so as to not be rude to them.
"Yo." A familiar voice greets him, he looks over to his door to see-
"M-master?!"
He runs over to hug him, only for Zero to hold out his hand and stop him by grabbing onto his face.
"Calm down, stupid."
"Mafter!!"
He says in a muffled voice. Zett gets out of Zero's way and lets him in his room, closing the door afterwards. His master looks around, acting like this is the first time he's ever stepped foot in here. He sits down on his bed and taps the spot beside him. Zett sits down beside him. The two sits in silence, with Zero looking around and purposely avoiding eye contact.
"Uh, so... What brings you here master?"
"Oh, right."
Zero gestures with his hand, bringing something out from his color timer.
"I wanted to give you this."
It's a plain black box, Zett holds it in his hand.
"What is it?"
"Open it, stupid."
Zett lifts up the top of the box, revealing...
"Wh-"
A diamond ring.
"M-master?!"
Zett's eye sparkle as he screams in shock, unable to contain his happiness.
"Q-quiet down, idiot! I- I thought it'd be nice to give you a gift for your, anniversary, you know."
"Does this mean you acknowledge me as your disciple now?!"
Zett puts down the box on the bed and holds Zero's hands with his own, closing the distance between their faces.
"I never that said."
"Masterrrr....."
"Argh! Get away from my face!"
He pushes him away with a hand, unable to hide his blush.
"A-anyway, do you want to put on the ring or..."
"Oh, right!"
Zett takes out the ring from it's box, he was about to put it on himself when...
"Here, I'll put it on for you."
"W-wh-"
Zero takes the ring from him and lays Zett's hand out, holding onto it. He slowly inserts the ring on Zett's ring finger, gently patting his hand afterwards. He looks up to see Zett crying.
"Oi, why are you crying? It's just a ring..."
"Any gift from you tells me you care about me, master..."
He smiles as tears roll down his face.
"Of... Of course I.... Tsk, stop crying!"
"I can't help it, master!!"
Zero wipes off his tears using his thumb, gently rubbing his face with his hand.
"Uh, sorry for avoiding you earlier, by the way."
"Huhu... Why were you avoiding me anyway...."
"I wanted to keep the ring a surprise. I was asking around how I should give it to you."
"Um, so what did you guys agree on?"
"They all said that it doesn't matter how I give it to you. Whether in public or private, you'll still like it. So... that's why I gave it to you in your own room."
"Master..."
Zero shines brightly on Zett's eyes. His master has never been the type to show his true feelings, always hiding it behind a wall. To think that his master went out of his way to find the best way to give this gift to him...
Zett gives him a hug, catching Zero off guard at first, but then returns the hug back, melting into his warmth. Time stands still as they cherish their embrace, with Zero patting Zett's back a few times to comfort him. Zett lets go and wipes the tears off his eyes.
"I love you, master."
"I know."
Zero simply giggles, caressing Zett's face.
"Say it back, master~"
"Nah."
"Master!!"
Zett holds him by the shoulders and shakes him around, repeatedly calling him master.
"I said no, idiot! Stop shaking me!!"
"But you're so mean!!!"
"Ugh, fine!"
Zero holds Zett's hand and makes him let go of him before he goes in for a kiss on Zett's lips. Zett's eyes open wide as he feels his beloved master's lips press against his own, feeling his soft skin and his taste. He looks at Zero's closed eyes as he delivers the kiss.
"?!"
Before he could even process what has just happened, Zero has already let go from the kiss, licking his lips with his tongue, and smirking at him afterwards.
"Come on, let's go eat. Ace prepared dinner for us."
Zero gets up and leaves the room, not waiting for Zett. He looks back and stares at his dazed and flustered expression, laughing to himself.
"Wh- wh- wh- M- Whuh-"
He ended up having to drag Zett to the dining table. His brain probably exploded! Well not really, he was just stunned from the shock.
May these two couples have a happily ever after.
