Jedediah and Octavius had been watching cat videos for what felt like hours. They had been hanging out a lot more recently. They had bonded a lot over the past few months. They were just friends though, well for now. Jedediah always felt as if Octavius was a bit different. He was brave… and strong… and—
…
Anyway they were just friends! Nothing more nothing less. Friends cuddled all the time right?
Dont answer that.
Jedediah and Octavius had spent probably around three hours so far just watching Youtube. At some point around midnight Ahkmenrah visited them and accompanied them while they watched, but he eventually grew bored and left.
“Octavius! tell your guys to summon the typin’ machine” Jedediah said, elbowing Octavius. The roman rolled his eyes.
“Must I remind you? The apparatus was broken days ago. No thanks to you…” Octavius replied. Jedediah scowled at him. He pointed an accusatory finger at Octavius’ chest
“That wasnt my entirely my fault! Your idiotic solider guys spun the wheel too damn fast!” Jedediah said quickly. Octavius went red.
“How dare you blame my men! If it weren't for your impatience we would still have it!”
The two bickered for a while. Such a thing was quite common, the two had done far more than bicker for the past 50-something years, it was only natural that they’d argue still from time to time. Time to time being at least once a week. Larry of course usually split them up.
Larry was talking to Teddy when he heard shouting from the front desk. He sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose.
“Im sorry Ted, I’ll be back…” Larry grumbled. Roosevelt just smiled and said,
“Dont worry, Lawrence! I have all night. Take your time.”

“—I aint irresponsible, ‘Tavius!” Was the first thing Larry heard clearly as he approached the two.
“Not irresponsible—?! You’re the main cause of half of the issues we have!” Octavius cried indignantly. Jedediah gasped dramatically.
“Now that’s mighty hurtful! Watch your tone, toga boy!” Jedediah said, Octavius rolled his eyes in return.
“Youre being terribly dramatic, Jedediah…”
“WHY YOU LITTLE—“ Jedediah lunged at Octavius. Octavius was quick to reach for his sword, but not quicker than Larry. Larry picked up Jedediah and put him down a bit further from Octavius.
“Jed! Octavius! What is happening here?” Larry said, his tone bordering on impatience. Jedediah opened his mouth to speak but Octavius was quick to cut him off.
“My liege… you see me and my dear friend were just having a little… conversation—“
“Arguement,” Jedediah interrupted, “we was arguing, Gigantor.” Jedediah said, crossing his arms. Octavius grumbled and hit Jedediah. Octavius wasnt aiming for a certain area, he just so happened to hit Jedediah in his family jewels. Jedediah let out a cry of pain and fell to his knees
“AUGHHH—!! OCTAVIUS YOU SONUVA—!”
Octavius winced, and kneeled down to Jedediah. He hadn’t intended to hurt. Well… he had. But he intended a hit to his hand or upper thigh not his…
Octavius misjudged the distance, that's for sure.
“I didnt mean to um… I apologize, my friend—“ Octavius barely had the apology out of his mouth when he was swiftly punched as well. Octavius let out a cry of pain and fell over.
“Oh damn you Jedediah…” He grumbled. Larry was staring at the both of them with a disappointed look on his face.
“Well that was surely something… do i need to seperate you two—?”
The duo suddenly looked panicked. As much as they bickered, they still really loved being around eachother.
“NO!” They both cried in unison.
Larry raised an eyebrow. He dragged his hand down his face then sighed.
“If you two don't make up, I’m locking you both up in your dioramas for the night. So you wont be able to argue.” Larry said, crossing his arm. Jedediah straightened up almost instantly. He forced Octavius to his feet and dusted him off.
“No need for that, Gigantor! We’ll be good, wont we?” Jedediah said, nudging Octavius. Octavius seemed to pick up on what Jedediah was trying to get him to do. He quickly spoke up as well.
“Hm—? Oh yes!! Only the best behaviour tonight, my liege.” Octavius bowed.
Larry sighed then walked back over to Roosevelt. Jedediah scratched his neck awkwardly then sat on the edge of the desk.
“I guess I may hafta apologize to you, pardner…” Jedediah murmured begrudgingly. Octavius shook his head and sat beside him.
“Its quite alright. I started our little fight. Its my fault” Octavius murmured. Jedediah scoffed softly.
“Well I should apologize still. I still fueled the argument in a way.” Jedediah insisted.
“Amicus meus, its fine—“
“‘TAVIUS IF YOU DONT LET ME APOLOGIZE I’LL GUT YA LIKE A FISH!” Jedediah snapped. Octavius just smiled and chuckled at Jedediah’s antics. Smiled a bit too, snickering along with his friend.
“Quite nice up here ain’t it?” Jedediah sighed. Octavius nodded and scooted closer to Jedediah, close enough that their pinky fingers were brushing against each other. Octavius ignored the heat he began to feel im his cheeks. He hoped Jedediah wouldnt notice the redness. Octavius had yet to notice that Jedediah was equally red.
“I mean I suppose—“ Octavius began, then he was cut off by a strange sound.
Mrrrooowww!!
“What was that?” Jedediah asked, glancing around. Octavius stood up and looked around. They couldnt see anything. That was until a gigantic creature hopped onto the desk. Jedediah immediately recognized the creature.
“Aww!! Kitty cat!” He grinned, running up to the gigantic animal (it was gigantic to them but in reality it couldn’t have been more than a couple months old).
It had jet black fur with white patches around its chest and nose. It had little blue eyes, and was rather fluffy.
It was an adorable kitten. Octavius wondered how it got in, but Jedediah didn’t care. He wanted to pet a cat. He’d never pet a cat before.
“Well aint you a sweetie pie!” Jedediah cooed as he climbed up the kitten’s neck to scratch its ears. He held onto the fur as he climbed. The kitten seemed to not pay too much mind.
“Jedediah do be careful! Kittens are very—“
The cat rolled on its side, bringing Jedediah down underneath it. Jedediah let out a squawk as he was crushed beneath what was essentially a gigantic fur ball.
“—Unpredictable… are you alright under there?” Octavius asked, concern weaving its way into his voice.
Jedediah groaned.
“Perfectly fine…”
Octavius grinned fondly.
“Oh my… you are such an idiot…”
“Hey!!”
