Chapter Text
Izuku groaned quietly as he pushed himself up from his desk. ‘Had I fallen asleep?’ He silently wondered in his mind. Sure he’d been getting way less sleep lately but he wasn’t the type to just doze off in class.
As he rubbed his eyes he looked around the classroom, no one was there. Sensei Aizawa wasn’t teaching, none of his classmates were seated, he couldn’t even hear any commotion coming from the hallway.
As Izuku started to wake from his sleepy daze he realised he wasn’t in 1A’s usual homeroom. The layout was still the same, just a regular classroom but the wallpaper, floor and desks were completely different from normal. Then he saw the windows. Izuku’s breath paused and he had to look twice when he saw the massive iron plates that were secured in by heavy bolts entirely covering the windows.
Izuku quickly got up out of his seat and examined the plates. He tried to see if it was possible to move it but the steel wouldn’t budge. Izuku noticed surveillance cameras in the corner of the room. Whoever was behind this was watching him at the very least. Though that fact didn’t really provide him with any relief.
“What’s going on?...” Izuku whispered to himself.
This had to be the work of a villain right? But even if it had been, why would they have him in a secured classroom? Why not tied up or restrained? Izuku’s mind raced with all the possibilities of what was happening. Could it be the league of villains? Though this wasn’t their usual way of doing things, when Kacchan had been kidnapped he said they spoke with them directly. It was already clear the league wasn’t afraid of being upfront about what they wanted so the chance of them being behind this wasn’t high, still he couldn’t rule them out completely even if it was unlikely.
It was pointless to keep pulling at the plates, they were sealed shut but maybe there was still an exit around here. Izuku glanced over the empty classroom and there was a door near the front. Would it even be unlocked? Didn’t matter, he needed to try anyway. He walked over to the door and tugged on the knob, to his surprise it wasn’t locked. Izuku paused before stepping outside, he prepared himself to fight if there was anybody outside. With sharp precision Izuku opened the door quietly and peered outside. Nobody in the halls either.
The hallway was just as strange as the classroom, the floor was decorated in a checkered pattern and there was another door next to the one he just came out of. Izuku considered checking out the other room but figured it’d be a better idea to stick to the main hall first and try to find anyone. He peered up at the small sign attached to the classroom he came out of. It read ‘1-A’ did that mean this place was specifically designed for his class or was it just a coincidence? The door next to it read ‘1-B’ okay so maybe this place just used a similar numbering system.
To his right there were more rooms that seemed to stretch further down the hall and to his left there was an entry way with a sign in front of it that was labeled ‘Despair Hotel’. Despair hotel? What did that mean? It avoided bringing even the slightest bit of reassurance plus it’d probably be smarter to check out the other rooms first before entering something called a ‘despair hotel’. Izuku took the right path and looked at each door
First there was a big red one off to the side, he tried to go in but it was locked and strangely had no sign like the rest of the doors, the next door was a slim yellow one that read ‘A/V room’ but that was locked too, another door that read ‘school shop’ but again locked. Finally when Izuku tried the next door it was unlocked, the sign above it read ‘entrance hall’ since it was the only door unlocked it must be at least worth trying. Once Izuku entered he was filled with relief as he saw the familiar faces of all his classmates. Everyone turned to Izuku as he entered, all with either a face of confusion or anger.
“Hey wait, you guys are here too?” Izuku asked, approaching them.
Iida responded first, looking a bit rattled as he ran up to Izuku.
“Midoriya! Thank goodness you’re here too, do you have any idea what’s going on?” Iida’s question was shortly interrupted by Bakugou pushing past and yelling in Izuku’s face.
“Oi Deku! What took you so long!? Where the hell are we!?”
“Calm down Kacchan” Izuku reassured “I know just as much as you do.” Izuku then turned to Iida again and responded “I don’t know what’s going on but is everyone okay?”
“Yes, fortunately no one’s been hurt. We’re all okay, just confused. Do you think this may be the work of a villain?”
“Seems like it.” Izuku answered swiftly before Uraraka came running past Iida and Bakugou.
“Deku! You’re okay! I was so worried.” She beamed
“Yeah I’m alright.” Izuku couldn’t help but smile in response, it was sweet to see she was so worried about him.
A few more of their classmates came up to Izuku to ask if he was okay or if he knew what was happening but each answer remained the same. He had no idea what was happening just like the rest of them. Izuku spoke up and gestured to everyone.
“Did the same thing happen to all of you? You woke up here?” Everyone nodded in agreement.
“All the doors and windows in this place are busted shut. Everyone came here because it was the only door unlocked” Kirishima announced.
“I tried to blast the other doors open but class rep here stopped me before I could.” Bakugou said frustrated.
“And I still won’t let you. Bakugou, you can’t just go around using your quirk on things just yet! We have no idea where we are and it’s not safe to do anything drastic yet!” Iida bickered.
“Yeah I get it! I don’t need you repeating it in my ear!”
“Hey chill out you guys, there’s no need to fight” Denki begged as he tried to get in between Bakugou and Iida “Maybe this is all just a test set by Sensei right?”.
“You really think Sensei would do all this just to test us?” Tsu pondered.
“I agree, I don’t think any of our teachers would go to these lengths for something as simple as a test. Granted I think we’d be told before enduring such a task.” Yaoyorozu added.
“So what? This is actually for real?” Sero asked, starting to sweat a little.
“No way! There’s no way we could've all gotten kidnapped!” Mina worried.
“We can’t jump to the conclusion of a kidnapping right away but I’d say we treat it like one for now. We don’t know our current situation yet so it’s only logical that we stay on high alert.” Todoroki interjected. Izuku stepped forward next to Todoroki and spoke.
“Todoroki’s right, while we don’t know what’s going on we need to stay vigilant and careful. Which means none of us can run off or do anything jeopardizing yet.”
Just as Izuku was about to continue a sound cut through the speakers. ‘DING DONG, BING BONG’ everyone looked around at each other before a voice began speaking.
“Ahem! Hello, is this thing on? Testing! Testing! This is a test of the school broadcast system! If everyone can hear this then let’s get started!” The voice was weirdly happy and spoke with such enthusiasm that it sent a chill through everyone in the room.
“To all incoming students listening, I would like to commence the entrance ceremony right this second! Please make your way to the gymnasium as your earliest convenience! That’s all for now!”
“W-what was that!?” Mineta fretted.
“That was way too creepy man!” Denki quavered in agreement.
“That’s it! I’ve had enough of this crap. I'm going to the gym to deal with this myself!” Bakugou growled before storming out of the room.
“Hey dude wait! You can’t just leave!” Kirishima said, following Bakugou out the room. A few of us watched the two of them head to the gymnasium before others started heading out too.
“While I don’t think it’s wise to obey our captator’s wishes yet I don’t see many other options.” Tokoyami muttered, heading out the room with Shoji, Kouda and Satou. Some of the girls left as well along with the boys. Leaving just Izuku, Iida and Uraraka still waiting in the entrance hall.
“Tokoyami wasn’t wrong, we shouldn’t just follow the announcement but we don’t have much choice. Not abiding by their reprimands could just get us in even more trouble and all the other doors are locked regardless.” Izuku began muttering.
“Still, what if it’s just a trap? Uraraka said cautiously.
“Assuming this was just a trap, as far as we know there’s only one other person in the building besides all of us. That would still mean the 20 of us against whoever may be waiting. Though I don’t like it, I agree with Midoriya that it's our only logical choice” Iida concluded. With that decided they all headed out of the entrance hall and began venturing to the gymnasium.
