Chapter Text
Write write write
Jax was writing on a little piece of paper. Then he slid that paper to pomni, who was right next to him in class.
“Hi pompom” it read, pomni wrote back.
“Hi Jax”, she slid it back with a soft smile on her face.
A soft blush went over his face.
“Watcha doing?” he wrote back, in his awful writing.
“Paying attention, like you should be” Her hand writing was not that good either, but compared to his, it looked proper.
“But that's boring” he passed it back with a eyeroll, but a little smile tugged at his face.
She gave the same expression when she read his response.
“I get it, but you don't want to fail your classes, now, do you?” she passed it back
“Im already failing” he wrote
“Jax…how many classes” she wrote, with a half worried look on her face
“Idk, like, 4 or something” he wrote, but in between writing, he made a fake pondering face that made pomni silently giggle.
“JAX! We have 6 CLASSES, you can't be failing more than half of them!” she passed the note back, with a fully worried look now.
“I know, but it's boring :(“ he put a little sad face after his sentence. Then he continued writing “Do you want to hang out?”he wrote it to get off topic...He scribbled it out. Then passed the note back, a bored expression, unlike the way he was looking just moments earlier.
As she read the note, she looked over at Jax. Jax noticed, but didn’t look. He knew he didn’t scribble it out good enough to make it unreadable. And he regretted it, not because he didn’t want to hang out, but because he was nervous of her laughing at him, or anything. He didn’t trust anyone since his last friend he let get close with him. He refused to say her name though, and tried his hardest to not think of her name as well.
“Let's hang out, ok?” She put a circle around the scribble, and half a heart after the sentence. She passed it back with a reassuring “My house, right after school”
…
“Ok” He wrote that, but hesitated when filling in the heart, but eventually, he did.
He handed it back, being overly careful, for a reason he did not know.
When he looked over, he saw pomni, reading, then looking over, giving a comforting expression that made him kick his feet, and blush a little.
He was happy, but also nervous. Feelings he hadn’t felt in a long time, all rushing back. He didn’t know what to do, ditch the hang out, or go. He was split between it.
————————————
After school, he passed by her house, just standing there. Waiting, waiting for something he didn’t know. But deep down, he knew what, he was still pondering that question from earlier.
“Do I ditch it, or hang out with her?”
He ever so slightly regretted writing ‘ok’ on that paper. He decided he was gonna–
“Jax!” a voice called from behind him. A voice too familiar. He turned and saw, it was Pomni, waving her hand with the happiest little expression on her face, that made him blush, but not enough for her to notice from that distance
“I was wondering where you were! I waited outside the school for like, 20 minutes, just waiting for you!”
“Oh, I'm so sorry Pomni!” He nervously called back.
“don't be! You're fine.” she responded back, walking up to him “Lets just head in, ok?”
…
“Okay” he responded back, he wasn’t leaving like he wanted to, but he also did not want to anymore.
“Follow me! And by the way, my parents are on vacay, so we're gonna be alone, alright?”
He didn’t know how to respond.
Alone?! With a Girl?! No, get your head out of the gutter man, god, she is just a close friend, you're gonna be FINE. Jax thought.
He walked in, not knowing what to expect, but it was gonna be fine…
…
Right?
