It had been a few days since Saparata was defeated and Parrot took back his kingdom.
The devastation caused by Saparata was horrendous. It was said that he killed over 4 million new players during the year he ruled as king, and those were just conservative figures. The citizens of Unstable eventually came to their senses and revolted against Saparata alongside the former king, Parrot.
Saparata was arrested, but the damage was done. There were so few players remaining that it was laughable. During his reign, many new players stopped joining Unstable altogether, causing the population to dwindle even further.
And that was how the Unstable SMP found itself here today, with the Admin floating above everyone and announcing one simple thing:
"All dead players will be revived, but the old players will be killed again. Only the new players who were victims of Saparata's genocide will be revived permanently."
"However," the Admin continued, "this process will take up to a week, considering the sheer number of people on this server. I suggest everyone here meet their friends again before they disappear forever."
With that, the Admin vanished.
Parrot had mixed feelings.
On one hand, he could meet those who had died long ago in hopes of a final goodbye—Luigi, Dean, Spepticle, and so many others he wished he could talk to one last time.
On the other hand, there was Wifies. He didn't know how to approach him.
What would he even say?
How would he even say it?
"Parrot."
Should he log off the server
for a week?
No, no, no.
He couldn't do that.
"Parrot."
He was the king.
The server needed him.
"Parrot?"
Should he even approach Wifies?
"PARROT!"
Parrot jumped, startled as a familiar voice interrupted his train of thought.
It was Theo, standing beside him and practically screaming into his ear.
"Ow, bro, my ears." Parrot grabbed his ears, wincing in pain. "What are you doing, bro?" he asked.
"Dude, you were zoned the hell out. What were you even thinking about?" Theo asked.
"Oh, uh, nothing."
"It can't be nothing, dude. I called your name like four times."
"Fine. It's just that..." Parrot hesitated.
"Just what?"
"Just that Wifies will come back, and I don't know what to do."
"Oh."
"Yeah." Parrot sighed. "I... I spent a long time preparing to face Wifies again if it ever came to that," he continued. "And now, now that it's actually happening, I feel unprepared."
Theo remained silent for a moment before finally speaking.
"Look, man. Just make sure that whatever you do, you don't regret anything."
"Thanks, Theo. I can't lie, you give good advice."
"No worries, dude. That's why I'm the biggest bird."
"Alright. You're the biggest bird after me, bro."
After more bickering, Theo and Parrot headed back to the Northern Council; Parrot the king and Theo his protector. Bickering was fun, but they had a server to rebuild.
Eventually, the day came and everyone started flooding in—old players, new players, everyone who had ever died. It was said that all of them would join at spawn, and Parrot—being the king—was there overlooking the rejoins.
The chat kept flying by.
Luigitoan joined the game.
Rejoicin joined the game.
Deanthebean9 joined the game.
Nufuli joined the game.
Deputy_Ace joined the game.
Dozens more followed.
Outside the spawn castle, Parrot was talking to Dean and Luigi after guiding them out of the chaos and influx of players.
He explained to them how they were suddenly alive again and about their eventual fate.
Dean seemed close to tears knowing he could talk to Parrot again, while Luigi wanted to go see the Farlands. Parrot had to explain to Luigi that they had been destroyed during the Mafia's reign, and Luigi seemed horrified—rightfully so.
Parrot was explaining to both of them how he became the king of Unstable, how he beat the Law, how he lost his crown, and how he got it back.
And in the midst of it all, he saw the message.
Wifies joined the game.
