The first thing Jiang WanYin noticed when he woke up was that he was not in his room. He was on sturdy planks, sure. The air reminded him somewhat of Cloud Recesses.. And Lotus Pier. He tried to get up, but someone was hugging his waist so tightly when he tried to move that he swore he couldn't breathe. It was obviously Xichen. No one in the entire cultivation world would do that to THE Sandu Shengshou if they didn't have a death wish! So anyway.. Lan Xichen was his cultivation partner that took nearly 3 years of therapy, convincing and comforting to get out of seclusion
"Xichen. wake up. I won't repeat it"
He said, tempted on shoving his head away, but decided against it. After all, this was Lan Xichen, Not Wei Wuxian. Xichen refused to get up anyway, just like Wei Wuxian.. wait why was he comparing them anyway?? They were nothing alike! ... probably.. in his train of thoughts suddenly he felt a foot hitting his ass
"You mother-"
He realized it was Wei Wuxian, who was sleeping on the floor behind him, with Lan Wangji on top of him. Well, maybe he can't call him a motherfucker. It's not like any mother would want him, and neither Jiang Wanyin nor Wei Wuxian had a mother to fuck anyway.. Well, he roughly pulled Wei Wuxian's hair, causing the man- wait.. child?? How had he not noticed this?? Wei Wuxian looked much, much younger, and he looked like- well, Wei Wuxian, NOT Mo Xuanyu- Wangji looked younger too, wayyy younger. He turned back to Xichen, who was younger as well. What the fuck??
Anyway- The child yelped as Jiang Wanyin pulled his hair, Lan Wangji falling off of him onto the floor and waking up as well, Xichen, who heard Wei Wuxian yelp and felt Jiang Wanyin move slowly stirred awake, the sudden light nearly blinding him
"What was that for-!? Wait what the fuck. Where are we??"
"Language, Wei Ying"
Wei Wuxian huffed at being told to watch his language, was Wangji's first concern really his use of language rather than the current situation?? Suddenly a weird see through box appeared infront of them, with some weird ass voice that does not sound human at all. What the hell??
[Welcome! The System welcomes you! You are currently in a world with heroes and villains, you have your spiritual weapons from your previous life. You have your goldens cores as well, but it is weaker, cultivate to bring it back to it's original power. In this new life cultivation will be much easier considering you've already done so in your previous life. The system will provide you with information on your journey. Lan Xichen stared at the system, perplexed
"Um.. Will we be getting a guide for the outside world when we exit our current safe zone? Where are we at the moment?"
[You are currently in a mix of Cloud Recesses and Lotus Pier. The system has made minor changes to this world in order to ensure your comfort in this new world. This is a mountain besides a river. The history of a mountain in such a city with modern buildings is unnatural. An earth master went into isolation, created an enormous mountain and built on it. Thatis were Cloud Recesses and Lotus Pier were recreated. Cloud Recesses is at the very top, while Lotus Pier is at the bottom. This place will be renamed to GusuMeng in honor of the two great sects and clans from your world, Gusu Lan and Yunmeng Jiang. Enjoy your stay!]
Wei Wuxian was pleasantly surprised. He could literally jump from Gusu to Yunmeng now! .. if he jumps in the water right... oh well! Jiang Wanyin was surprised as well, Lan Xichen was ecstatic and Lan Wangji was just happy his husband got what he wanted... not publicly his husband anymore, he supposes.
"Oh my gosh!! System you're amazing please continue existing!!!!"

Wei Wuxian immediately grabbed ChenQing and Suibian, wanting to test something out. Wei Wuxian brought ChenQing to his lips and started playing, resentful energy making it's appearance, called from god knows where. Then he also unsheethed Suibian, calling the sword to fly besides him. Surprisingly, the resentment didn't disrupt anything. Back in their world, resentment and cores/Qi didn't go well together, it was likely they couldn't work together as well. It's not like they've seen people using resentment and spiritual energy at the same time so this was a huge surprise.
One thing that Wei Wuxian did not expect was the fact that spirits came along with the resentment. Which probably meant resentment was never EVER used here and the spirits did not get their rest by someone helping them. Which also meant there was ALOT of resentment and unrestful spirits, that made Wei Wuxian feel really bad for them, after all, everyone always said he wanted to play hero, he's acknowledged it. He always wants to help, even when it leads to a worse income in the end, whether it be for himself or others. He tries his best to tone it down and all, but it's kinda hard when you have a strong sense of justice or are generally oblivious or dont think about consequences. That's why Jiang Cheng Had been his other part, the one that always cared about the consequences more than the current situation. They kinda balenced eachother out.
"Aiyah.. guess I'll have alot to do with spirits"
"What's that supposed to mean"
Jiang WanYin looked at Wei Wuxian in confusion
"Oh, you know. There's alot of restless spirits. I feel we should put them to rest when we come across them"
"Alright, I say we leave it at this for now. let's go exploring for a bit!"
Lan Xichen interrupts before anyone can speak further. Jiang WanYin was definitely rubbing off on him. Jiang Cheng wasn't always straight up disrespectful. Maybe he cut people off, but that was only when he was sure someone was below him, especially when they were disliked. But if they were above him, he'd let them speak before saying anything, and for people equal to him, he'd try to say something before they'd say something, so he's fairly good at reading people and knowing. Lan Xichen had totally learned from Jiang WanYin
So they split up to explore. Lan Xichen and Lan Wangji explored the Cloud Recesses part while Jiang WanYin and Wei Wuxian went down to explore the Lotus Pier part

Xichen took a few turns, to where he knew the Hanshi, his room would be. And it was there! Inside his room were ShuoYue and Liebing, which he picked up and put securely by his waist. It took a while before he could use ShuoYue again, but all thanks to Jiang Wanyin's help and harsh, yet oddly comforting words, he managed to feel better in months, and it had since been 1 year since he'd been in seclusion. Jiang Wanyin got him out of seclusion in 8 months. Nice reminded that Jiang Wanyin was here with him (and his little brother, and little brother's husband, but whatever.) and they finally could be together instead of focusing so much on Sect matters. He ought to thank the system. He explored further, he found the Yashi, the place where guests are met and the Lanshi, the classroom. What he noticed was that the entire part where Cloud Recesses' female disciples would stay is gone, Lan Qiren, his uncle's room was gone, some offices or studies were gone, but his remained, which was good! He appreciated that. Thanks system.
"System, are The Cold Springs still here? And The Mingshi?"
[Yes! The Cold Springs are still here. Although not in the exact spot, it is relatively the same. as you may have noticed, the side of the recesses where the female disciples and elders would reside is gone, the Lanshi is still here, and so are the dormitories. However, The System has decided to cut out the other parts because it was simply too big. The system hopes you understand ＞︿＜]
Lan Xichen smiled at the system. Even though it wasn't a human or animal, they were sentient
"Say, what do you prefer? He, She, It or they?"

Lan Xichen's smile widened slightly

Lan Wangji wandered around, he obviously found the Jingshi, his room. Bichen and Wangji were there, Bichen went by his waist while Wangji was attached to his back with a cloth wrapped around her, then he left again. He also found Black mountain, where he was surprised to see all of his and Wei Wuxian's bunnies. after staying for a while he decided to wander further, he found The Library Pavillion, after he searched for The Room of Forbidden Books and was glad to find out it was still there, somewhat. He also noticed that half of Cloud Recesses was gone
"System. how much of Cloud Recesses is this?"
[About 43%, The system thinks]
"why only 43%?"
[The system couldn't make the other part, the system also thought the other parts were unnecessary, the system hopes you can understand]
"Oh. alright. there are no disciples here anyway, so I suppose it's fine"

"If we are absent, will the system take care of pets in our absence?"

Jiang Wanyin reached the bottom of the mountain, and it took about 20 minutes, and he jumped alot as well. First he went out to find his room, because he was 99% sure Sandu would be there... Wait, will he have Zidian? He has to, right? Wei Wuxian has ChenQing, if he's not mistaken, so he should have Zidian, hopefully. He doesn't know how he'll do without Zidian. She was obviously precious to him in more ways than one. Luckily when he found his room Zidian was one the bedside desk and Sandu on his bed. He very quickly slid Zidian on his finger, extremely happy when she sparked. Sand went by his waist, obiously. He looked around the room and realized it was actually replaced with his past room. The one he had shared with Wei Wuxian when they were little. ChenQing and Suibian weren't here because WHY was Wei Wuxian the only one that was summoned with his weapons. He wandered for a bit longer, Half of Lotus Pier was gone, more than half actually. Where the disciples would stay, alot of training ground was gone, but there was still a fairly large piece left, where the sect leaders should stay, the throne room, the ancestral hall, the whole family part was gone, actually. Only his and Wei Wuxian's room remained. Wei Wuxian's experimental office was there too.. He wasn't going to enter that. from all that squeling, Wei Wuxian is definitely excited to continue experimenting, especially in another world.
"Wei Wuxian! Don't do anything stupid!"
"I won't!! I promise!! I actually take that back I don't promise anything!!!!!!"
He heard his pathetic excuse of a Shixiong say. Well.. not really. Wei Wuxian had always been better, atleast he's gotten over it now. After letting go of all that hatred he held for the man, he had felt empty. Like a shell of his former self. He went into seclusion for literally a weak before he decided self-loathing was as pathetic as self-reflecting was and just got busy with sect matters. He'd even decide to skip meals at that time because he didn't feel like eating. The truth was that at that time he was hungry, but he couldn't bare the thought of eating without feeling uncomfortable or nausous. It was irritating, so he just ignored it. It got so bad that he finished piles of work in one day, even sometimes not sleeping because he decided it would be best to handle everything before sleeping. Since Jin Ling had taken on the role of the Jin sect leader, he needed to secure his place, he needed to help Jin Ling and make it easier for him. Speaking of Jin Ling.. He really hopes he's doing well. Jin Ling was 23 at this point, he should have it a bit easier now that he's used to it... He never got to tell Jin Ling how proud he was, but he was sure Lan Qiren would tell him, because he never failed to mention how proud he was of Jin Ling during their little tea sessions when Lan Xichen was in seclusion, even after that.
"System. Will there be other people arriving in the future or is it just us that will be here?"
[The system can unfortunately not provide such information ≡(▔﹏▔)≡]
"I see.. You might not be able to answer this, but who took over the Jiang sect?"
[The head disciple! since you didn't have a heir, the head disciple would be the next sect leader]
"Hm. I'm sure he'll do great."

Wei Wuxian got in the Lotus Pier part before Jiang Wanyin because, well, he may or may not have jumped straight down and used his sword. It was worth it, and fun. The first thing he went to look for is his experimental office, which he found pretty easily since 'WEI WUXIAN' was written in red colored ink on the door, in huge characters. The first thing he noticed is that the system has restocked all the stacks on stacks papers, unfinished experimental talismans, the cinnabar, the brushes were nearly arranged, some of his old notes and theory books were even on the shelves, he squeled and started giggling like the crazed experimenter he is, and soon he heard someone yelling to him, who he immediately recognized as Jiang Cheng
"Wei Wuxian! Don't do anything stupid!"
"I won't! I promise!! I actually take that back I don't promise anything!!!!!!"
He yelled back. He took some of his basic everyday use and nighthunt use talismans before leaving though. He was searching for his old room, which he didn't find until he entered Jiang Wanyin's room, and he was so happy that it was the room they shared when they were children. it brought back alot of pleasant memories, how he would cheer Jiang Cheng up by doing silly things. At that time, he was still Jiang Cheng. Not Jiang Wanyin.
"Systeemmmm~"
[Hello~ How may the system assist you?]
"are Lan Zhan's bunnies and little apple up in the.. Half Cloud recesses? And I noticed this is less than half of Lotus Pier, why is that?"
[Yes, they are. It is only that much because some bits felt unnecessary and the system could recreate so much, the system hopes you understand 〒▽〒]
"Ofcourse I do. Must be alot of work recreating the entire past of this thing. An earth master makes a mountain for seclusion? That's a whole lot of tampering with this world! Must be crazy annoying"

Wei Wuxian hums as be goes to apt where they'd originally been summoned and sits down, at some point they'll come back..

It took two fucking hours for everyone to return. What the HELL were they doing for that long!?
"What took you guys so long, I was getting soooooo~ bored~!"
Jiang Wanyin scoffed in amusement and annoyance, making Lan Wangji glance at him before sitting next to Wei Wuxian. Ofcourse, Wei Wuxian who had no idea what the words personal space meant layer in Lan Wangji's lap. This guy has to remember they're in the bodies of four year olds now! Even Lan Xichen gave them an unsure glance. It must be so odd to see his four year old little brother with another four year old like that
"augh. Not even Xichen can handle your bullshit. We're in kid's bodies, have some consideration. It'll strike as weird."
Lan Xichen gave Jiang Wanyin A grateful glace, Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji accepted it as reasonable and mentally added not to act so shameless in public. Seeing young kids acting like teenage couples is weird
"yeah. I know that much. I'm not an i-"
"well.. Anyway, I say we train and cultivate before we choose to exit this Mountain we're not sure how strong people are. Its best we are at least half as good as we previously were, or more."
Lan Xichen had interrupted before Wei Wuxian could go on a rant. Jiang Wanyin send him a grateful smile, Lan Wangji nodded. After spending some time with Jiang Wanyin, even Lan Wangji picked up some stuff from.him. the parental influence is just too much. It was also a bit uncanny how Jiang Wanyin looked like their mother. Jiang Wanyin just sounded so parently sometimes, when he speaks gently you can fucking HEAR the mother side.it was so odd, but it was nice. When Lan Wangji fist saw the resemblance he was trying to stay away from Jiang Wanyin, but over time, he did feel comfort in his presence. Even though Jiang Wanyin wasn't as gentle and teasing as madam Lan, his words were always genuine, except when he's threatening people.
"I have a question.. Can we practice the book of turmoil-"
"No!"
Lan Xichen and Lan Wangji nearly yelled. The book had done some creative damage in their life. Everyone here had some bad luck with it
"trust me on this! Since we're in this new world, we could do good stuff with it! No political stuff, we can go after those bad guys or something, and leave em for the heroes! I'm not playing ning on joining any hero school because- no."
"well.. I suppose we could use it for good, but.."
Lan Xichen ssid, but stopped. He didn't want to mention what happened
"I understand, Xichen-ge. Its completely understandable. Think about it"
"I will. Lets all sleep for now. Its getting quite late"

Wei Wuxian exclaimed as he took Lan Wangji's hand and ran to the Jingshi. Lan Xichen smiled as he turned to Jiang Wanyin and extended d his hand. Even after so long, it was adorable to see Jiang Wanyin flustered. His child version was cuter, no dirty thoughts. The idea of dating a child, even as another child unsettles him. Jiang Wanyin took his hand though
