Chell sat on the bed of her room, looking at the ceiling and wondering what GLaDOS possibly meant by “plans for later.” It seemed like something fun, based on how the robot’s tone had changed when mentioning said “plans”. Maybe Chell could make use of those dresses she had seen in her drawer earlier that day… if GLaDOS had one of those kinds of things planned for her. She might’ve, she might have a lovely little thing planned out. Maybe. With the way GLaDOS was acting at the time, it wouldn’t surprise Chell if the supercomputer had prepared a nice, calm, romantic date between the two of them.
Maybe Chell could kiss her again… maybe. GLaDOS hasn’t seemed to make a fuss whenever the test subject gives her a sweet little peck on the faceplate. I mean, the both of them did tell each other the night before about how they felt about each other; and with that, they had silently agreed that they were, to say the least, lovers.
It made Chell warm and fuzzy to think about how someone in the world loves her, cares about her and her wellbeing as a whole… She never really got that in her childhood. She didn’t really have much of a childhood with her birth parents anyway. Her parents had abandoned her after all…when she was four. Left her on the doorstep of Aperture, where one of the lead scientists took her in as their own.
Chell was snapped out of her own thoughts, as GLaDOS had begun rambling loudly on about how stupid she must be. “Hey. You. Chell?! Are you really that brain damaged? I’ve been calling your name and trying to get your attention for the past five minutes. Helllllooooo??” Chell frantically looked around and gave a nod, acknowledging the snarky AI that yes, she was listening and that her attention was finally grabbed. “Oh there you are. Anyway… Get yourself dressed. In one of those dresses I gave you… And I recommend you put your hair up too. Make yourself look good. And then head to my room, I have something planned for you…” GLaDOS finished, tapping out of the camera in Chell’s room to finish setting up things in her own.

GLaDOS neatly set up a table just in front of her chassis, with a white tablecloth smoothly laid across the surface of the wooden table. Plates were sat down, accompanied by a fork and knife and other cutlery. Quite ironic that GLaDOS had the idea to set up a dinner for her and Chell, considering she herself couldn’t eat. But it was something nice she could do for Chell, and so she did it. She had sent out her two little testing robots to find a deer, which didn’t take too long. Upper Aperture was being eaten alive by greenery, so there was bound to be animals around and about.
After the two robotic companions brought back the deer, as well as a few flowers, GLaDOS had killed it mercilessly and rather quickly; and swiftly made use of its corpse, chopping it up, saving some in the deep freezer, and putting the raw flank in the incinerator for a brief moment to be cooked. She set the flowers Atlas and P-body brought in into a small, clear glass with a low amount of water.
GLaDOS rummaged through old offices and found a bottle of unopened wine in one of the drawers; which was rather surprising as it was still good and safe to drink after all these years. Not like she could tell, but it was safe to assume that. It had been unopened for the past… God knows how long. It’ll be fine.
She dimmed the lights, darkening the room a bit before lighting a few candles that were set on the table. It was all perfect now, this neat little table and everything. It was perfect for Chell at least, it had to be.
And now GLaDOS just had to wait.

Chell looked in the mirror, her reflection gazing back at her. She liked the way this dress looked on her, the deep red color really did compliment her skin and scars. Even if it was a bit tight, it was still fairly comfortable. Speaking of scars, her body was riddled with them; there was a particular gash on the side of her face, a few bullet scars on her shoulder from turret encounters in the past, and a few more random lacerations on her chest and arms. They stood out like sore thumbs, the pinkish white against the soft, warm, tanned brown of Chell’s skin. But Chell liked them, while they were ‘ugly’ to most people, they were beautiful to her and helped make her, her.
The lady took a few deep breaths before putting on the longfall boots, as she didn’t have any other footwear, and supposed that these would do. Chell didn’t think GLaDOS cared about footwear, she only ever mentioned wearing a dress and making her hair look nice. And so Chell believed she was ready.
She left her living quarters and set off to the central room.
———————————
GLaDOS whirred loudly out of excitement as he waited for her favorite test subject to arrive. She was happy for once, and actually happy. Not the fake artificial happiness that she was used to before she really found out who she used to be.
She moved around nervously, fidgeting restlessly before the familiar clicking of the longfall boots could be heard. Oh there she was. There was Chell, at the entrance of the large room, a nervous smile plastered on her face. “Why hello, darling… it’s nice seeing you. The dress really fits you by the way… I loveee… the way red looks on you..” GLaDOS had greeted, putting an emphasis on “love”. Chell’s expression softened up and she walked over to the table; GLaDOS had pulled out Chell’s chair for her in invitation, and the human smiled before taking a seat before pushing herself closer to the table.
They stared at each other for a bit, and Chell noticed the black bowtie the robot had given herself. It was placed on the top area of her chestplate, hanging loosely onto, what was practically, her neck. That was cute… Chell had noted, looking down and staring at the steak that was sitting on her plate. GLaDOS tilted
her faceplate. “Would you like some wine, darling?” She questioned, one of her robotic claws holding up the bottle of wine that had been found in one of Aperture’s long forgotten offices. Chell had nodded, picking up her glass and moving it closer to GLaDOS so she could fill it. “Thank you for this, by the way…” Chell had signed with one of her hands. GLaDOS had noticed, lifting her faceplate as she put the bottle of alcohol back into the table. “You are very welcome… A very special test subject like you deserves something as lovely as a dinner date like this.” GLaDOS said, nodding her faceplate and gesturing for Chell to eat her food. “Your steak is getting cold though. I suggest you eat it.. At least some. Wouldn’t want it going to waste now, would we?” Chell shook her head, taking a sip of the dark colored wine located in her glass and cutting into her steak.
It tasted lovely. Like actual food—even if it was just a bland, unseasoned piece of meat—it was something that wasn’t a protein bar, which was almost like a relief. Chell smiled, taking a few more drinks of wine and stabbing at her steak hungrily.
GLaDOS watched her lovingly, as she couldn’t do much else. Chell was such a lovely little thing. Quite the unique test subject, something GLaDOS had never seen before. What was so different about Chell was her overall demeanor about things. She was never really scared, always confident and ready to take on anything. And GLaDOS loved her. Oh she loved that mute, dangerous lunatic of a human to bits. She really did… Her systems felt as if they were to explode at the sight of the lady, but she loathed and would never admit to something like that. Love was a pathetic human thing, and GLaDOS only felt it because of Caroline; as the parts of Caroline in her mind were the only reason GLaDOS could even feel and process raw emotion.
Even with her conflicting beliefs on love, GLaDOS felt extreme passion and romantic affection towards the extraordinary woman that sat in front of her.
Chell had finished her steak and wine, and thanked GLaDOS once more before asking for a kiss. The lady felt somewhat dizzy, but was mainly warm. She felt warm and fuzzy… oh it was lovely. “You can kiss me. I don’t really mind… well I do, but it’s you so I don't really mind…” Chell smiled lazily, leaned over the table, pulling GLaDOS by her faceplate closer to her and pecked the robot a few times. With each kiss GLaDOS let out a low subtle whirr that gradually got louder. GLaDOS had nuzzled back at Chell, showing her affection in return for all those sweet and lovely kisses.
The test subject pulled away with a smile of satisfaction and a flushed face; and had signed lazily that she was in fact, quite tired. GLaDOS nodded, helping Chell get up and made sure she was okay before sending her off to her room.
“Goodnight Chell.. it was nice seeing you tonight…” GLaDOS said, and Chell could hear a smile in the robot’s voice, and Chell replied with “I love you” on her left hand, before bumbling off to her room to get some sleep.
