Chapter 1: i found myself annoyed by a syndrome of sorts in my head

Chapter Text

"i planned ahead!"

that soft, dreamy echo of jakes giggle cut through all of alberts coherent thoughts.

"i love u."

"uHhuMMM... YEAhAH......"

god, why did he have to sound so dismissive?

was he being too mean? too harsh? did he seem too awkward?

albert didn't know.

he hated being perceived.

watching the once light sky morph and twist into a deep blue that reflected his deepest anxieties, he couldn't help but stare at the moon; waning gibbous. jakes favourite stage of the moon cycle. why did everything have to remind him of jake?!

he couldn't bear to look at it any longer. he used to love the moon, but from today, it had been a reminder of jake- fuck. he caught himself thinking about jake for maybe the umpteenth time. maybe more. probably more.

he turned his shitty, 2008 laptop off, listening to the fan die out, before throwing himself onto his bed. he figured that he could use some sleep early. well, kind of early; early considering the fact that he normally sleeps at 4am.

it was 1am, usually when jake called. jake again. for a second, albert wished that he had never met jake, so he could finally sleep. and then he realised what he was thinking. he had never wanted to punch someone more in his life, but he never expected that the person he wanted to punch was himself.

exhaustion dragged him under a sleeping spell. however, even during his dreams, he couldn't escape from jake.

he really was just a teenage dirtbag, wasn't he?
