Work Text:
“So this is Amity Park.” Jenny said as she stepped off the school bus, which was parked next to a park. “It looks like a normal city, why did we take a field trip here?”
“So we can see ghosts!” Brad said.
“Ghosts? Are they even real?”
“Of course not.” Britt said, bumping past Jenny. “Only losers would believe in ghosts,”
“But there's been a ton of videos showing ghosts flying around and terrorizing people here,” Brad said.
“Pft, they’re all fake.” Tiff said. “And even if ghosts were real, why should anyone be scared of them? They’re just a bunch of dead people,”
BOOM! The clear sky above them was quickly covered up by storm clouds. A flash of lightning struck a nearby tree, burning it to a crisp.
“Who said that ghosts weren’t scary?” A woman with pale skin and fiery blue hair emerged from the ground. In her hands was a black electric guitar.
She played a few cords, and fire erupted around her in a circle. She truck another cord, and the fire raced towards them.
“Get behind me!” Jenny yelled. Bringing her arms together, she transformed them into a giant shield, which blocked the roaring flames. When the flames died down, she activated her rockets and flew towards the ghost girl.
“Hahaha,” The ghost girl laughed.
She didn’t move out of the way as Jenny soared towards her. Jenny closed on her fists to punch the ghost girl, her hand went right through her.
“Did you think you could punch a ghost?” The ghost girl cackled. “Face it, there is nothing you can do to stop m-”
A blur of black and white care flew out of nowhere and punched her straight in the face.
“Maybe there’s nothing this robot can do to hurt you, Ember, but Danny Phantom can,” The person-ghost-said. They were wearing a black body suit with white accents, and had white hair and glowing green eyes.
The ghost girl, Ember, held the side of her face, which was starting to bruise. How was that even possible?
She scowled. “You might be able to hit me, but there’s nothing you can do to stop this!” She disappeared in a ball of fire, and reappeared on top of a nearby building. She started playing a song on her guitar.
“Ember, you will remember,” She sang.
“Oh god she’s playing this dumb song again,” Danny said. He looked over to Jenny.
“Cover your ears, wait do you even have ears?” He asked.
“Not like your ears. But why would I need to cover them, the songs not that bad,”
“It’s not because of the quality, look!” He pointed to the crowd below, which were gathering around the building Ember was on top of. Some of them were climbing on top of each other to reach the roof, making a makeshift human ladder.
Something was wrong with their eyes. They looked. . .vacant.
“She’s mind controlling them! Oh no, she’s even got Brad! How do we stop her?”
“I need to put her in this.” He took out a metallic thermos. “You should focus on keeping people safe,”
“Got it,” She wished she could do something more, but she never fought a ghost before.
Jenny flew towards the human ladder, which was now half way up the building.
“Out of my way, I’m gonna get Ember autograph first!” Britt said as she clawed her way up, stepping on people’s heads.
“No, I’m gonna get it first!” Tiff yelled. She was behind Britt, so she reached up to pull on Britt’s leg.
“Get off!” They started fighting, causing them both to lose their balance and start falling.
Janny grabbed them both before they could fall into the mosh pit below, holding one of the cousins in each hand.
“Thank you Jenny,” Britt said.
“Wait, you’re actually thanking me?”
“Of course! Now you can fly us straight to the top to meet Ember!”
“No, she’ll take me up first,” Tiff said. She tried slapping Britt, but Jenny held them apart. She flew back to the bus and dropped to the ground. She pushed them both in the bus.
“Stay here!” She flew up to go back towards the building. The human ladder was even bigger now, looking more like a mountain and only a floor away from the top of the building. Ember was still singing as she flew over the building dodging Danny’s attacks.
“I might not be able to touch her, but maybe I can distract her,” Jenny thought.
"Hey Ghost loser!” Jenny yelled. Ember looked over at Jenny and kept singing. “Listen to this!”
Putting all her power into her rockets, she shot towards Ember.
Kashoooom! She sounded like a rocket ship launching off.
“Ah!” Ember covered her ears, and Danny swooped up from below and opened the thermos. It started glowing green and sucking her into it.
“Noooooo!” She yelled. Once she was inside, Danny closed the thermos shut, and the mind control people went back to normal.
“Woah! What's happening?” Brad said as the human mountain started to shake. He was near the bottom, and about to be crushed! She raced down to pick him up.
“Everyone calm down.” Danny said. “Me and the robot girl will help each of you down safely,”
“My name’s Jenny!”
Together, they moved everyone to safety.
“You were really cool out there,” Danny said.
“Thanks, you were really cool too.” She held out her hand, and they shook hands. “I'll be in Amity Park for a while, I hope we see each other again without unwanted ghosts showing up.”
Was she crazy, or was his cheeks turning pink?
