Work Text:
The rain outside drummed steadily onto the wall outside, a soothing white noise that was lulling Flux to sleep. The wind blew occasionally, splattering drops of water onto their dorm's window.
Flux was lying flat on his back, a soft, heavy blanket draped over his body as he scrolled through his social media. He wore a pair of thick fuzzy socks, sweatpants and a loose t-shirt, those combined with his blanket forming a small bubble of warmth that kept him from freezing from the winter air.
The door to their dorm swung open, hitting the wall and sending a blast of cold air from the hallway into the room.
Flux didn’t move, simply shifting his gaze and watching a dishevelled Saps stumble through the door.
He was returning from the campus library, but had clearly lost his umbrella if he’d even remembered to bring one. His hair was rumpled, no longer a fluffy white cloud and instead plastered to his head, the water dripping down his face and onto the floor. His jacket was thoroughly soaked along with the rest of his clothes.
Saps stood there in the narrow entryway, teeth chattering from the cold wind.
“You look like a wet cat that just took its first bath.” Flux said, his voice flat with the tiniest hint of amusement. “Dont get water everywhere or else you're mopping it up."
Saps let out a long shuddering breath. “The wind flipped my umbrella and it blew away into a random bush.”
“Poor you.”
Saps peeled his clothes off with shaking hands, dropping his jacket carelessly into a bundle on the floor. Underneath, his sweater was soaked at the shoulders, the cold wet fabric sticking to his skin.
Flux watched him from where he was bundled up on the bed. “At least hang your clothes up.”
“I don’t care.” He grabbed the bottom of his sweatshirt, pulling it over his head in one clumsy motion.
He was shirtless now, his skin catching on the dim lights from the bathroom as he moved to grab a pair of dry sweatpants from the closet.
Flux averted his eyes, peeling them off Saps’ chest to stare at the ceiling instead.
Saps kicked off his wet jeans without an ounce of shame, slipping into the warm pair of sweatpants and pulling them over his hips. He turned his attention to where Flux lay comfortably, not bothering to dry his hair or put on a shirt before approaching the bed.
“Woah, hold on.” Flux said as he saw Saps stepping closer and closer. “Your bed is literally right there.”
Saps didn’t answer him, lifting the blanket up without another word before collapsing onto Flux.
Flux’s breath was knocked out of him as Saps’s full weight crashed into his chest.
Saps buried his face into the empty space between Flux’s neck and shoulder, his face ice cold against the warm skin. He pulled the blanket back over both of them before wrapping his arms around Flux’s waist, leeching himself on securely.
“Get off me, you fatass.” Flux grumbled, feebly attempting to push Saps off, trying to dump him onto the ground. The moment his hands made contact with Saps’ shoulder, he stopped.
Saps was freezing, shivering violently, his cold, damp skin covered in goosebumps. There was the slightest bit of warmth from his actual body heat radiating off him.
Flux’s face flushed red in the dark. His heart rate suddenly spiked and he was certain Saps could feel it pounding against his body. Being physically close to Saps when they were fully dressed was already hard enough, but with Saps’ bare chest pressed to his, Flux’s brain was short circuiting.
“You’re freezing.” Flux muttered, although his hands gave up on shoving him away and were now resting awkwardly against Saps’ arms. “You’re like a corpse, can you get your face out of my neck your entire face is cold.”
“No,” Saps’ face was buried into the curve of Flux’s neck, muffling his voice. His breath was the only warm thing about him, fanning over Flux’s skin and sending a shiver down his spine. “You’re so warm, don’t move.”
“Go put a shirt on, you idiot.”
“I don’t want to. It's cold out there and warm here.”
“What if I shove you onto the ground like, right now.”
“You wouldn't, you love me.”
“You’re actually insufferable.”
“Stop pretending you don’t want me here.” Saps hummed lazily, knowing how much damage he was causing to Flux’s dignity. He lifted his head slightly off Flux’s chest, looking at him, his eyes twinkling in amusement.
“Go away.” Flux snapped, his eyes darting down to Saps’ lips before he frantically looked away.
“No.” Saps traced a line over the side of Flux’s hip through the fabric of his sweatpants. “Plus, you love how warm I am when I'm thawed out. I can feel your heart beating at 90 miles an hour.”
“That’s because you're crushing my lungs!” Flux hissed. His face was burning so red he was convinced even the lack of light wasn’t going to save him from Saps’ watchful eyes. Flux tried to push him off again. “You’re like a big fat sack of potatoes, go to your own bed.”
Saps didn’t budge. He stared at Flux through his feathery white bangs, a smirk spreading across his face. “You always do this. You argue with me for five minutes just so you can feel like you’re in charge, then you let me stay anyways. I know you want me, just skip the annoying part, it's too cold for that.”
“I don’t do that.” Flux was doing everything he could to still look angry.
“Yes you do.”
“Just get off me, I want my personal space back.”
“I’m not moving.”
“I’ll throw you out the window.”
Saps let out an exasperated huff. Flux thought he had given up, until he felt Saps’ right hand shift against his waist, sliding underneath the hem of Flux’s t-shirt.
Flux froze into a statue the moment he felt Saps’ fingers graze his sides. “Saps. Don’t you dare.”
Saps didn’t listen, curling his fingers to scratch teasingly at the bare skin above Flux’s hipbone.
Flux let out a sharp squeak octaves above his usual voice, his knees instinctively flying upwards. He was hopelessly ticklish along his sides, a secret he’d desperately tried to conceal before Saps accidentally found out and began abusing to get his way.
“Saps! Stop! Stop it!” Flux’s hands shot down onto Saps’s wrists, frantically trying to pry them away.
“Stop trying to push me off then.” Saps let out half a laugh that was muffled against Flux’s skin. “Say it.”
“Okay okay, fine!” Flux choked out. He was panting heavily, his chest heaving under Saps’ weight. “You can stay! Just stop moving your hands.”
Saps stopped, stretching his hand out to lay flat against the warm skin Flux’s waist. He let out a content sigh, sinking his body back into Flux’s.
“See?” Saps whispered, his eyes fluttering shut. “That wasn’t that hard, was it?”
Flux let out a huff, his hands already unconsciously moving to tangle themselves in Saps’s damp hair. Saps had started to warm up, the heat radiating off him seeping through Flux’s t-shirt. Flux planted a light kiss onto Saps’ white hair, smoothing it down before closing his eyes. “I hate you so much.”
“I love you too.”
