Wrong parchment papers

Summary:

Leon Kennedy has been tasked to send papers on his last report by you, but it seems like he mixed up cats and dogs and sent you a completely different type of report.

Well, I guess you could call it one that came from his heart.

Work Text:

"Mr. Kennedy, I'm going to need you to send over those parchment papers from your last report on that case, you know we have yo check on you alot since you're a rookie cop in here." - Y/N

Said the note you left on the board in the main hall for the cop that's been apart of RPD for only 3 months! Yet, you and him knew eachother since you were still young. He read the note to himself, murmuring before he turned around swiftly and started IMMIDIATELY search for the folder of the case. When it comes to you and him knowing eachother for that long, it seems like you completely forgot about that, atleast that's he told himself since you didn't really seem to recognize him from his first day, and he still remembered you.

He was afraid to question anything about you knowing him from the past, he didn't want to be proven wrong and be akward about it later, plus he didn't even think it was that important much. It wasn't even his ego, the young boy was a sure thrilled one around a serious, stern captain like you.

Right now, he was rushing to deliver the folder to your office, a few "excuse me" 's and "sorry!" 's pushing throught the crowded hallway. There really was NO need to sprint past to get to you, and yet, he ran like you'd fly away or something. Truly, he's been running after you in other instances, with impressing you, with helping you out, with everything he could, he tried to give you the best impression, despite the benifit of the doubt, and still was able to focus on his duties, Leon showed no signs of faltering when it came to getting things right, especially those important to him, the one's he'd love to hold close. He never admits it, not even to himself, but as much as he tries to deny it, he can't hide the fact you make his heart skip a few beats.

The deafening silence of the office was abruptly, yet fortunately, interrupted by a simple knock on the door.

"Come in..."

You answered sternly, shifting a few papers away from your desktop as the rookie entered the office. It was needless to say how cluttered that workspace of yours was, Leon knew it all to well sadly. He has records of asking you if you were burnt out, tired, exhausted, he always checks, even if it's isn't suppost to be his priority.

"Hello ma'am, Here's the report you've asked me for!"

He exclaimed, walking over infront and handing the folder to you.

"Thank you, Kennedy."

You gave him a slight smile, even despite the fact you think you don't look good when you do that, it's been an insecurity of yours for a while actually.

"You're welcome...! Oh and, how have you been? Is our dear Captain keeping track of getting good rest?"

Leon tried to find a way to spark a conversation between you, something he really does alot with you, and, it works, thanks to his talkativeness. He'll never forget how nervous he used to be before around you, mainly because of the crush, and yet you thought the cause of it was him being a newcomer! If only you really knew he fell the moment he was reunited with you again, after almost 10 years...

"Tired of course, but it's nothing I can't handle, I'll be alright, really-"

You took a sip of your probably 4th cup of coffee already, rubbing your eyes groggily.

"-Just 2 more hours until my freedom."

You chuckled to yourself, which also earned you two small curves at the corner of Leon's lips.

"I believe you when you say it's hard, must be boring spending the entirety of your day in the office-"

"Leon S. Kennedy! We need you here stat!" Lieutenant Branagh called out in a hurry. Leon turned fast to his name being called out, before turning over to you.

"I'll talk to ya later, sorry! B-Bye bye!"

He blurted out before he already made his way outside your office and in the hallway.

Now it's just you again, and the folder you were suppost to inspect with your free will.

You opened it, noticing the small Doberman dog sticker on the inside of the cover. You chuckled to yourself softly.

"Cute..."

You though to yourself. Your fingers picked the... single sheet up? Leon was suppost to provide more pieces for this, and yet, he had one singular paper in the folder to cover his case up. No images wre found either, is this a mistake? Does he really not know how to write a report after 3 months of working here?

"Did he even... wait..."

The report started of in a far different way you had expected.

"If I cannot say this outloud, this sheet of paper will be the direct script of my mind for this one..."

That's a very unusual way to begin a report. Intrigued, you continued to read.

"... that Captain in the office, that one who works all day, tiring themselves, and yet, everytime I come to their office, they are still as cute as the last time I saw them...."

Woah. Slow down, rookie. This is not a report... this is some sort of love letter!

"... If only they remembered me, who I was in their life before, when we were stupid little kids, dreaming about being cops, and here we are right where we wished to always be. And now, that I'm with you, it matters much more..."

Pause. Your face was flushed in a red hue. If you keep reading anymore of the contents in this, you'll melt away before you even get to respond to his words! You closed the folder shut, setting it aside and murmuring curse words under your breath, of course, shyly.

Does he really mean all of this he just said about you? Is this what he sees you as? You're either blind, or he's very good at hiding the fact he wants you. Well, you'd agree it's on you, because goodness, this boy is head over heels, and you are stupid for not noticing it!

"Oh Leon... now I remember you."

You giggled to yourself. As awfully funny it would be if you just stayed quiet and never told him so he realized it himself, you aren't that type of person. You knew what had to be done.

After your day finally ended, you waited for Leon outside the station, the night unusually chilly, definitely a calming atmosphere for what wad about to come.

Gosh, how are you going to begin with this one? You felt so stupid for not remembering him. To be fair, if he didn't move out the town back then, maybe you'd still have some sort of memory about him, you both were young anyways.

And there he was leaving the building! But in a rush? It seems like he noticed he sent the letter.

"Leon!"

You yelled, trying to catch his attention. You rarely call him by his name, since you have a norm with being well mannered thanks to your parents. The cop froze like he just got shot, slowly turning to you.

"Leon I have to talk to you about-"

But you got interrupted.

"Imsosorryforsendingthatlettertoyouthatwasthrcreepiestthingiveever-"

"Hey, hey, slow down!"

You intervened, gripping onto his shoulders out of instinct. Leon wanted to dig a hole and BURRY himself 6 feet under right there where he stood. He was visibly sweating, his heart thumping.

"Let me begin first. Leon, I'm so terribly sorry for not recalling who me and you were. I completely forgot, but, I promise, you seemed familiar to me!"

You still gripped onto his shoulders, not noticing the fact he was... admiring you. Being this close to you was like heaven sent to him. He was barely focusing on your words, his mind clouded up, he felt like pure bliss.

"Now that I'm sure it's you, I am so proud of what you've achieved. You succeeded in what you wanted to do your entire life, what you dreamed of, and that's so beautiful."

Your calming tone was to much to him. Leon leaned in closer, but you didn't still pay mind to that. His hands carresed your elbows, lifting them up gently.

"And I am so glad to be apart of your life again, that's something I am the most thankful for, and I don't know how...."

You trailed away when one of his hands went to hold your cheek. You just now noticed the proximity between the two of you.

"It's okay... it's alright... just..."

He wanted to form a sentence, but right now, his mind was occupied by the feeling of your lips. Then, he suddenly tilted his head to the side, his other free hand pulling you closer around your waist. Without any warning sign, his lips made contact with yours before you even knew it.

A small gasp slipped throught, eyes wide, and a warm sensation dropping in your stomach. Leon kissed you with such strong love, yet he was keeping it slow and gentle.

"You never stopped being mischievous...."

You murmured onto his lips, causing a tiny snicker to emitt from him.

"And you never stopped being so cute..."

You both chuckled as he held you tighter and closer to himself, leaning to the side slightly. Tiny whimpers seeped through the passion.

"Pftt... you damn idiot, spare me the charm..."

You finally pulled away, both of you panting from the intensity, still holding eachother closely.

"Just doing the best for my Captain..."

His fingers brushed your hair behind your ear, a childish smile on his face, like someone gave him a comicly large lollipop.

"Well, your Captain suggests we get the hell out of the entrance since we've standing here all alone for almost 10 minutes."

You were being serious actually. The only sign of life were literally the cars driving by you two. Nobody was on the streets at this hour.

"Well... Captain... your beloved cop suggests you spend the night at my place..."

He began in a flirty way. Where did his confidence spark from?

"I'd love to!"

You pulled him into a tight hug, maybe even almost knocking the air out of his lungs.

"Of course you do..."

He wrapped his arms around you back.

"I love you, so much... more than that letter mentioned it..."

He whispered it almost like it was a prayer.

"And I love you too..."

You replied.

"Oh and... you should also smile more, you're so adorable when you smile... I mean it...."

This made you fold so hard, you playfully punched his shoulder.

"Whaaatt? I mean it!"
