He was 8 When he finally had the courage to ask the matron why his parents abandoned him.
"Why? do you ask" I just want to know why they left me. "They left you because they don't love you." The moment those words were said, wh-what the-they don't love me! But they're supposed to love me I'm their child! Marius said with tears streaming in his eyes.
The matron's eyes softened a calloused hand coming up to comfort him, Sometimes Child A parent doesn't deserve to have Children Especially yours, wil-will they come back, Marius said hiccuping between tears, if they don't then I just have to look for them.
Let me give you one piece of advice child,
You will only be humiliating yourself, if you look for them,what does humiliating mean? Haven't you been listening to my lessons? Will you be mad? Marius said already making his eyes all big and round to preen at her, The matron said with a sigh I guess I can teach you later.
"My advice is have pride" Because that's the only thing you have, The matron said firmly gripping him tightly, people's expectations of you are bleak, they will assume just because you are an orphan, you are trash, that's my advice to you dear child.
He was 15 he decided he didn't want to live anymore.
He was standing near the lake, he was going to drown himself, Marius looked at his reflection, he said to himself why did they give birth to me if they weren't going to love me.
Well that doesn't matter now, well the past is the past, no use dwelling over it now, He recalled something the matron had once said "Everyone has a choice Even if that choice was immoral" it's their choice Marius said in a voice not filled with hatred as it should be, but exhaustion instead.
Well it's time my pitiful life finally came to an end.
