Chapter Text
3rd Person’s P.O.V:
Kitty takes the camera from her dads hand and walks straight up to the boy standing behind him. He's slightly taller than Kitty and when she calls out a confident "Excuse me!" to gain his attention she loses the ability to speak for a solid second. Something about this boy resonates through her, his eyes so distant and mature for a boy of his age that it calls to the childish side of Kitty. His hair and clothes perfectly styled in a stark contrast to the heavy look in his eyes. He looks like any CEO from one of the millions of K-Drama's Kitty's watched over the years. He seems like he'd have the money and personality to match. "Uh hi!" The boys tilts his head at Kitty, curiosity lighting his eyes and she forgets her name when his hair falls into his eyes. "Oh uh! Could you take a picture?" She finally manages to stutter out.
The boy shrugs and takes the camera from her grasp, Kitty makes her way back to her family and turns towards the boy and smiles as bright as she can. The boy falters for a second, blinded by the genuine happiness evident in her face before he composes himself. "Hana… Dul… Set." He counts in Korean and then takes the picture. The Song-Covey's offer their thanks as Kitty makes her way back up to the boy to take back the camera.
"Gamsahabnida." Kitty offers in her slightly off Korean as she takes the camera from his hands.
"Your welcome." Kitty's smile grows even stronger, surprising the boy. How can one girl have so much energy to smile?
"Oh, you speak English!" She says like he's gotten a star and given it to her. "And so do I!" She adds after he doesn't respond.
"Look how much we have in common." He says it dryly, no tone in his voice, but Kitty giggles and his lips quirk in a smile and her eyes widen like she's just gotten some sort of victory. "I'm Minho." He doesn't know what propels him to give this stranger his name and then raise a hand for her to shake but he does and she takes his hand instantly in a handshake that his father would probably have a breakdown over.
"I'm Katherine!" She makes a disgusted face and shakes her head. "That was weird, it's not my name. Kitty!" He blinks. "Well, I mean Katherine's kinda my name but people don't call me that. They call me Kitty." Minho can see her family turning around and watching the two of them now but he, for some reason, just doesn't care. "You can call me whatever!" He couldn't help the smirk that grows on his lips as the girl continues to ramble.
"Ok, Kitty." He gives her a wink. "I'll see you around." Kitty's legs nearly give out as she watches Minho walk away.
"Katherine Song-Covey has discovered boys. God help them." It's the last thing he expects to ever hear about the girl.
Minho’s P.O.V:
I'm on my phone mindlessly watching some TV show on Netflix, I'm six episodes in and bored out of my mind but my only other option is to go sight-seeing in whatever city I'm in of whatever country. I've stopped keeping track of where I am in the world, probably not a good thing but it is what it is. The last time I registered where I was was when I was on Namsan Tower in Seoul a few weeks ago. I hadn't expected to talk to anyone there except my dad. He'd dragged me there in the hopes of a photo opp but there wasn't really any press around, just multitudes of tourists. Including her. I don't know why she stuck out but she did. Her smile so bright like she had nothing to worry about, her glasses that looked like they were one wind blow away from flying off, her silly rambling and the way her cheeks turned ever so slightly pink, all of it drew me in.
I doubt I'd ever see her again, not that I wanted to. She was just… intriguing. I'd never met anyone who smiled that much, or turned so pink at the slightest of words. She was interesting in ways I hadn't seen before. I'd seen the rich kind of interesting. The CEO dinners, the 'charity' gala's, the VIP concerts, the VIP shopping experience, the chefs flown over the world for two minute snacks, the famous actors, the famous K-Pop idols. I'd seen it all. Since the day I was born that was my world. I'd seen interesting, I'd lived it. I'd lived so much 'interesting' that life became boring, my world became black and white, monotone. Not literally, of course, but it was like the world was dull and everything just made me bored. Nothing was interesting any more. And then she handed me a camera and managed to fascinate me in the span of three minutes. I'd never met such a person.
And I would never again.
At least that's what I thought until I got an Instagram notification. I usually ignore them, it's always people sending me follow requests because they've figured out who I actually am, or more so who my dad is. But this time, this time something compels me to click on the notification. '@XO_KitKat has sent you a follow request'. The name doesn't mean anything to me, but when I look at the profile picture I think my heart nearly stops. It's her. How did she find me? How long did she look for me? Why did she look for me. I hesitate, should I accept or not? Why am I even considering this? I don't accept follow requests from someone I've met a total of once. I go to click the 'decline' button but, in a second of momentary insanity, I click 'accept' instead. And then I go the whole way and click 'request follow' like a psycho. She accepts it almost instantly. And well… That's that… Or so I thought for a total of two seconds before I got another notification.
'@XO_KitKat has set you a message'
What in the ever loving fuck? Why is this girl texting me!? And why the hell am I clicking on it?
@XO_KitKat: Hiiiiiiiiii!!!!!!
@Minho.M: Hello.
@XO_KitKat: It's me! From Namsan Tower!
@Minho.M: Yes, I remember. How are you?
I don't understand it, but I spend the next three hours texting with this girl before she has to go because it's getting late in her part of the world, in America. Thousands of Kilometres between us, yet I have never felt closer to a person.
