Work Text:
It was an awfully long day after work, as a matter of fact, one of the slowest of the month.
All everyone wanted to do was either go home, rest, eat, or fuck. Jean was certainly no exception to that.
Jean sat on the train, its cold, hard plastic offering him no mercy for his ass whilst the blinding white lights cascaded upon his coat with each stop.
He made sure he held onto the metal railing to balance himself, despite its visible years of age and grime plastered onto its surface. Jean usually grimaced at that, but on this day he just couldn’t find it in himself to care.
He didn’t care if the clouds dispersed into thin air or if bees turned into bats. All he wanted, sorry, needed to do was lie in his bed, a hand in his boxers and his heavy eyelids trying not to tuck him into bed.
That had all changed, though; all it took was a glance up at the lady in front of him. The way she sat, how her hair was styled, the color of her phone case. He always thought the way someone keeps their phone was telling. And right now, it told him a lot about you.
Jean couldn’t tear his eyes away. Your beauty engulfed him in a sea of light, dissipating his darkness. It made all the tiredness melt off his bones and ease the knots in his shoulders.
As the wheels rattled below, it had all blurred out of his mind like background noise. The gentle rock of the transport soothing him into sweet thoughts.
He found himself questioning if it was appropriate to approach a lady at first glance. Would it make his heart flutter? Cause him to stutter? Or perhaps mutter his sentences like a complete fool.
He couldn’t decide.
To him, the safest route was to ask if you needed a ride home, or better yet, a walk home. Maybe if he’s lucky, an ice cream date.
It had been just you two on that train, maybe that had spurred his mind to reach such thoughts after just seeing someone. Isn’t that so?
