Work Text:
Jean got his attention caught by the newest employee, you.
Your desk is just a few feet from him, adorned with the little goodies and trinkets he gets you in all kinds of hues and shades, as he tries to figure out your favourite colour.
Looking over to his desk, you often catch him gawking at you, then becoming red like a tomato. The pathetic loser isn't even sure about how to spell your name yet, and mind you, he's been crushing for weeks now.
He's already mapped out the routine you take from work, your snacking habits, the way you write letters and dates, and what type of cookies you prefer.
Sometimes, he would bring you coffee he "accidentally" ordered. It was really just an excuse to keep you awake and to chat with you. Of course, that would be much more useful if he actually managed to get the words out in full sentences.
Every time you stay back late, he would offer to keep you company and carry your bags to your car or perhaps even drive you home himself. Yet throughout all that, He can't relax his muscles and stop stuttering.
It was such a time like that on this particular day. You're in his car, being driven home by him.
"You want me to stop stuttering? Sorry about that." He said, looking straight ahead at the road.
"Oh? Is that so? They said what about me?" He snickered at that, the rumors of him being a fuckboy. It was unbelievable to him.
"I'll have you know that my intentions with women are never evil."
"Right...Would you like to go to a restaurant downtown this weekend? Or dinner or brunch?" His fingers were gripping the steering wheel tighter, squinting his eyes a bit.
"Thought I'd never ask? Oh my god, I've been wanting to ask for weeks now."
"...Yea. So it's a date? I'll pick you up at 6."
