Work Text:
This is BrightEyes' first day at RBLX highschool. To be honest, she didn't think she'd make it this far in life. She's pretty proud of herself for holding onto life this long..
She heard this highschool was atleast decent. There was some bullies every now and then, but if they didn't bother her, then that was enough, the deal she thought she had made was, The bullies don't bother her, and she doesn't bother them.
Step.
Step.
Step.
The classroom is pretty decent.. clean, enough desks and chairs, She was way busy being impressed by the cleanliness to the point it distracted her from the broken clock at the back of the classroom. She stepped inside and found a seat.
BrightEyes put down her bag and sat down on the right side of her seat, next to a window. The breeze is way too nice.. BrightEyes thought to herself. And once again, she was distracted. Distracted by the nice feeling of the wind. So distracted she didn't notice someone sitting down next to her.
"Hey??? Hellooooo?"
She heard a soft voice. It broke BrightEyes out of her trance. BrightEyes turned around, her gaze meeting.. beautiful green eyes.
"..oh hey!.."
BrightEyes said hastily. She immediately regretted her decision to even speak at all. Why did I even do that?! Why'd I say that immediately!.. BrightEyes cursed at herself. But then the girl spoke again.
"I'm ReeseMcBlox! You're a new student, right?"
ReeseMcBlox, what a beautiful name for a beautiful, Stop. Stop thinking that—.. why'd I think that....
"I'm.. BrightEyes. Nice to meet you. And yeah, I'm a new student."
BrightEyes could see Reese's eyes light up, and it made her feel weird. So weird for some reason.
"That's so cool!!! I hope we can get along yeah???!!" ReeseMcBlox said, her voice full of joy.
Brighteyes swore she has never seen somebody this happy.
"Yeah, I hope so."
..wow. she's adorbs. Why'd I think that. I'm not supposed to think that. I'm so stupid bro...
The classroom started filling up bit by bit, and the Teacher walked inside.
Physics class. Physics class is such a bum bro. Ruins my mood and everything. I hate physics.. BrightEyes was distracted for a moment. Until ReeseMcBlox tapped her on the shoulder.
"??.."
"You okay, Bright??"
..a nickname already..
"..I'm fine, Reese."
The bell rang at the end of class. And BrightEyes inevitably got up for lunch. She left Reese alone in the classroom. Nice. BrightEyes finally got a friend for once.
BrightEyes continued searching the whole school for the cafeteria. Why didn't I explore this school before going to class bro!....
She cursed at herself again.
She finally reached the cafeteria. Lunch time was almost over, and BrightEyes ate as fast as possible.
The food.. was gross. To be honest. Prison food would probably be better than this. But who is BrightEyes to complain? She just needed to eat, pass through the day, and leave.
After finishing the food, BrightEyes returned her lunch and walked to her next class. But first.. she needed to go to the bathroom.
Walking through the halls was too time consuming.. but she had to bear it, didn't she? Besides, this school was the only school that accepted her. Beggars can't be choosers.
She passed by the boys stalls. And got whistled at and catcalled. As much as she was comfortable, she was teached not to respond because it would be leading them on.
She reached the bathroom, there was.. a lot of people. Vaping, some fixing their make up, some doing their business. But she just.. needed to not mind them, right?
Even though the sight was horrible, the stench was probably the thing that stuck out the most. It smelled absolutely disgusting.
BrightEyes did her business in the bathroom, washed her hands, and left. She did not want to stay in there any longer.
She walked through the halls to her class. It felt undeniably peaceful, the walk felt nice. Her pace created a steady rhythm that made everything look better.
Her eyes gazed lazily around the halls. Almost expecting something awful to happen judging by how peaceful it felt.
".." As calm as this walk was, she knew to stay alert. They can't catch her letting her guard down.
The peace was soon interrupted by her reaching her class. She looked inside before walking in and sitting next to ReeseMcBlox.
"HI BRIGHT!"
"...Hi!"
"WE'RE GONNA BE THE BEST OF FRIENDS!!"
"..Sure." BrightEyes said skeptically.
"YEAH! We're gonna be the best of friends! Like— we're practically made for each other! And I see similarities between—" Reese continued rambling on about their friendship and how it'd grow to be the best.
"..Alright."
Something was on BrightEyes' mind. Reese continued yapping until she stopped and doodled on her book.
BrightEyes tried to peek over to see what Reese was doodling, but Reese immediately closed her book and just stared at BrightEyes until she backed off.
BrightEyes stared out the window and thought about the phrase that Reese had just said.
Made for each other.
BrightEyes smiled at the thought, but the smiled disappeared as quickly as it came.
no. I can't like girls. It's not in my nature. I shouldn't love girls. It's a sin. Disgusting. I'm disgusting for even thinking I should love girls.
.
.
.
.. BrightEyes doesn't want to be a sinner. She wants to learn how to be pure.
The day passed on with a blur. BrightEyes couldn't remember anything else except for the fact she was home now. She got on her knees and started praying.
"My lord.. I sincerely apologize for having these sinful thoughts. It is disgusting. I am disgusting. Please cleanse me with your purity, or not. I may be too disgusting and impure to even deserve your forgiveness and holiness."
BrightEyes clasped her hands together, desperately trying to pray off the 'thoughts' away.
If she prayed enough, she'd stop thinking about it and finally be pure, right?
She's a good girl. She swore. She swore she wouldn't like girls.
Made for each other.
It kept ringing in her head. She couldn't stop it even if she wanted to.
"I'll be pure. I swear I'll be pure..."
BrightEyes said, her voice cracking.
