Work Text:

Tossing his suit to the side Iseul finally lands on his bed absolutely exhausted. They'd done another mission today, and after how many stressful missions they've done in such a short time he is more then willing to sink into bed and let it all wash away for a while.

He can hear Min lay down in his own bed next to Iseul, much more gently then Iseul did. He seemed much less tired, though it's often difficult to tell how Min is feeling as a whole.

Still not willing to fall asleep Iseul decides to try sparking conversation, "Damn, it's been rough lately huh?" He only gets a hum in response from Min, which is expected. Iseul already was prepared to carry the weight in any conversation with his cell, except maybe Ryujin, "Hopefully we can get a more chill mission like with that cult, I know it didn't really end well, but it was fun near the start right?"

Iseul hears shuffling from the other bed and can deduce that Min turned to look towards him meaning he'll actually participate in the conversation, so in response Iseul sits up to look at Min as well. Looking at Min now Iseul is still amazed at how pretty he is for a guy, honestly he can't recall I time he looked bad he always looked pretty, sometimes cute, kinda often hot.

Shaking his head Iseul focuses on the conversation and continues, "I know I already said it but it really reminded of what it was like just hanging out with friends."

"Do you miss your friends?" Iseul is caught off guard by the question, he'd anticipated a question but not that one.

Iseul closes his eyes and considers his response, 'Is it worth being honest here? I mean it's pretty late is this really the time to be talking about that? Would he even care? I mean he asked so he has to want the answer. And with how much time we've hung out I'm sure he's at least curious, so what's the harm?'

"I mean, kinda? Not really as much as I should, I think. I moreso miss being able to hang out like a normal teen then I actually miss them." It's the honest response, Iseul scratches the back of his neck anticipating another question.

Min doesn't verbally ask a question but the way his eyes wander show he's somewhat confused by the answer, so Iseul answers before he can ask, if he even would have asked, "It's just, I never really felt all that close to them I guess. It felt more like they hung out with me out of habit more then actually liking me, and it was kinda the same the other way too, I just hung out with them cause no one else really wanted to hang out with me. I mean who would want to hang out with a potential aberrant?"

This time Min's question is said as soon as he finishes talking, "What about your girlfriend's, you mentioned having a few."

Iseul crosses his arms and looks to the side, this conversation wasn't going how he'd hoped, but, honestly, if Min is actually asking about this stuff Iseul can't help but want to share. Letting his arms rest on the bed again he answers, "They're a whole other thing, my first girlfriend we were only together for a short time, she broke up with me after she learned my dad was an aberrant, didn't want to risk having to date an aberrant I guess. My mom scared the second off, though honestly I don't think she really liked me she seemed to always complain about me, only got worse after we broke up. The last one, my girlfriend before I got here, she confessed to only dating me because she didn't wanna leave highschool having never dated anyone."

"Are you still interested in dating after all of that?" The question confuses Iseul but he answers nonetheless.

"Yeah, even if it's gonna be tough while on the corps I still wanna date, maybe even get married someday. I just, I want that connection, that love that everyone talks about, that undying loyalty to each other. Someone to talk to, to cry with, to just, to..." Iseul's eyes flick away from Min, it feels awkward saying all of this, he never told anyone this, not even his girlfriends. But Min's listening, he's asking about this, he obviously cares enough to know, he cares about what Iseul has to say, "To just love me, ya know? To care about and want to be arou-"

His talking is interrupted by three strong knocks against the door followed by one soft one and Iseul turns to look at the door, 'That's how Sayeon usually knocks when she wants to train with Min. Guess it's gonna be awkward for her to wait fo-'

Hearing the bed next to him shift Iseul turns back to find Min getting out of bed, he watches him walk to the door. Just as he turns the knob he looks back at Iseul for a moment, Iseul can hardly read his expression before he looks away and leaves.

'Oh... He doesn't care.'

No mission today, just patrol, It's much better then a mission and it does bring some relief to Iseul.

Sayeon chooses to have everyone patrol together rather then split up today, for whatever reason, Iseul can't be bothered to ask why and obviously Ryujin and Min aren't going to.

Patrol is as loud as any other time that they're all together, Ryujin and Sayeon eventually end up bickering about something, this time it's about how much sleep Sayeon is getting, and something about her arm. It's sweet, very sweet, annoyingly sweet. Not the ideal idea of romance but to each their own.

Min's just following behind next to Iseul, he and Sayeon seem like the only one's actually paying attention, though Ryujin can sense if an actual threat is nearby so there's nothing for her to worry about.

Casting a glance towards Min their eyes meet. They stare for a moment until Min's eyes turn to look around them.

The day passes by in a simple manner, noem of them seem to actually except to run into anything.

Until of course Min suddenly points out, "There's a rapture trade in this alley." Sure enough when the other three look down the alley as well there's three people in the alley one of them handing the other two a vial of rapture.

They'd handled a couple people like this before so it's nothing worth worrying about, at most they'd face a few bruises.

Sayeon seems to start looking at their surroundings while Ryujin and Min do the same. Iseul takes a step into the alley marbles in hand ready to yell out to them, more often then not rapture users get cocky and think they can take on at the very least trainees, he's learned that much from Juni, his few weeks here, and his dad.

Sayeon seems confused by his sudden entrance to the alley but doesn't stop him. Ryujin seems ready to say something but Sayeon stops her, seeing this Min doesn't act either.

"HEY!" The three people quickly turn to look at Iseul, "It's for the best if you just stop now rather then make problems huh?" That panic fades as they notice his tie and is replace with annoyance.

"Run along kid, we wouldn't wanna beat your ass."

Iseul just hums and takes a few steps closer, he hears some footsteps from behind him but ignores it, whoever it was stopped quickly anyways. Getting closer Iseul responds, "Come on, let's not make this hard, just give up now."

"Warned ya kid!" One of them turns to look fully at him and pulls out a gun, instantly Iseul can hear movement from behind but before anything can happen he activates his gift.

In a flash the person has dropped the gun and yelled in pain while the gun moves towards Iseul. The scene is paused as they watch the man look at his wrist that now has a marble lodged in it. Iseul from across the alley let's out a half hearted, "Whoops, didn't mean to go that hard."

The other two watch the scene and one tried to run but is swiftly stopped by a marble to the foot that causes them to come crashing to the ground. The last person happened to be the one holding the rapture and as the go to use it Iseul pulls it from their fingers and towards himself.

Before he can do anything else Min dashes towards the end of the alley and grabs the uninjured person preventing any attempts at escape. Ryujin soon follows grabbing the person who was hit in the leg as they attempted to get up, "Damn Iseul, I think you broke his leg. The hell's got you so brutal today?"

Iseul waves his hands as he goes towards the first person to retrieve his marble and says, "It was just a mistake, wasn't careful enough that's all." Before he can make an attempt to grab the last person Min lifts them up.

Min looks at him for a moment before saying, "You should be more careful next time. You could have gotten shot."

'Hypocrite much?' is the first thought that passes through Iseul's head, though out loud he says, "Don't worry, even if he shot the gun I would have grabbed the bullet before it even hit me."

His answer doesn't seem to have the intended effect on Min, he pauses for moment not moving catching the attention of all the cell members before he asks, "Are you upset?"

None of them expected the question though Iseul can tell Sayeon and Ryujin are listing for his answer, "No, what gave you that idea?"

Min responds like he already had his answer ready, "You've been quite all day, and after this fight and what happened last night, it would make sense if you're upset."

'Oh? So he does acknowledge that would make me upset, guess that just doesn't matter to him.' Diverting his eyes for a moment he looks towards Ryujin and Sayeon who seem confused, though Ryujin's eyes focus on his and seem more critical, 'Shit right my essence, damit.'

"Iseul." Min cuts through his momentary panic and once again grabs his attention, "I'm sorry for leaving so suddenly last night, I should have stayed and listened until you were done instead of suddenly leaving."

"...Huh?" Iseul can't help from blurting out his shock, he didn't except an apology, especially not a proper one from Min. He would have expected a simple sorry not him aknowleding the exact thing he did, 'Does that mean he does care? Or is he just saying that? No when he apologized to Taeho he barely said anything, so he must care right? I mean it makes sense, he probably didn't notice how it would feel, or maybe he did and just didn't know what to do at the time?'

Feeling a bit stunned Iseul responds, "Uh, thanks for the apology, dude."

Min seems apprehensive looking to the side before adding, "When we get back I can try making sugar twisted doughnuts to make it up to you."

"You remember that?" Iseul is genuinely shocked he didn't think anyone rembered that, it was pretty minor compared to everything else that happened that day.

Min just responds, "Of course." Like it's obvious. He finally moves from where he's standing bringing along the two criminals, Iseul watches him make his way towards the front of the alley while Ryujin and Sayeon slowly begin walking too. Instead of continuing Min pauses next to Iseul and waits.

Taking a moment Iseul looks at Min, the same expression, same pretty face even though the scars, and a single thought passes through his mind, 'So this is what care feels like.'

Sigh another draft... Atleast this one was short right?
