Chapter Text
It all started with a party, a party hosted by their classmate.
Stormz was quite awkward at first, before he actually started getting in to it. His friend, Dolphin, she had brought him alongside as well. Which lead to her approaching someone she really liked, Shaun. He wasn't sure if Dolphin liked Shaun or Shaun liked Dolphin, whatever. Stormz stared at them from afar, seeing Dolphin's tail wagging excitedly. Would that happen to him too one day? He thought to himself, what a dumb question he thought of.
Oh, Sans and Tusu were also there. Jelex couldn't come, unfortunately. They were in their own world, Stormz couldn't bother them. Oh, and would you look at that, Shaun and Dolphin were having a dance together. How sweet, Dolphin's dream was fulfilled now. Although, Stormz wanted someone like that too. He was just standing mindlessly, awkward.
He guessed it wasn't all that bad, just slightly overwhelming. It was quite hot, that was the only flaw aside from the bustling area. It made sense, a lot of people were at the party anyway. The bright disco lights were way too bright for Stormz's liking, lighting the other rooms in the house as it shifted from room to room.
Dolphin and Shaun getting together, they'd probably do public display affection in front of Stormz just to piss him off. Add Hazel in there too cheering them on, he didn't have anything against Hazel, if they had a hypewoman it'd probably be even worse. Him and Hazel weren't on the bestest of terms ever since.. something happend between the two of them in the past, but they've made up for their mistakes.
"Shit-"
Someone said, bumping into him accidentally. Stormz looked behind him, that person fell. But, oh my goodness. That person had beautiful dark hair with red highlights at the end of the strands, a scarred side at the right of his face, he could possibly be an angel. Well, if you exclude the demon horns and tail. This could also be the most beautiful person Stormz had ever seen, heart beating faster. Until he snapped back to reality, that is.
"Sorry, let me help you get back up." Stormz apologized, extending his hand for the person to grab it. They were looking at Stormz, a bit too long though. The two made eye contact, until the person grabbed the angel's hand and stood up. "No- I'm sorry." They replied, brushing the dust off of them. And, holy shit, they were so gorgeous. Thank God that Stormz's ears were covered, because they were red as hell right now.
They were still making eye contact, is this what Dolphin felt everytime she saw Shaun? Maybe. "Uh- What's your name?" The person asked, fidgeting with their hands. "Stormz, yours?" Stormz responded quickly, smiling at them. "D-Dumb, nice to meet you." Dumb replied, clearing her throat. "Yeah, nice to meet you as well." Stormz's heart was still beating, he could a trickle of blood rush to his cheeks.
Stormz unconsciously looked at Dumb's eyes again, oh, eye contact again. "I-I'll go now, nice meeting you again." Stormz was the first to break it before the other could notice the shift, headwings twitching as they shifted into the colour of pyrrole red light . "See you later." Dumb replied, saying the words too fast. They both turned their heels and parted ways, holy shit. Stormz silently screamed, Dumb. For a name like that, he doesn't seem stupid.
Or maybe Stormz was the stupid one, possibly falling in love with some guy you just met at a party? really? How idiotic of him. Yet, he kept on replaying the moment where they held hands. His scarred side of his face made him stand out more, it made him even more pretty. His eyes were beautiful, the left one grey, and the right one just the perfect shade of red. The way his voice was made him smile, fuck, no, snap out of it Stormz. He was already smiling from ear to ear just thinking about it.
In the car, Stormz was in the driver's seat. Dolphin was in the front seat, while Sans and Tusu were in the back seats. "Someone's got a girlfriend." Sans teased, acting oblivious. "I wonder who it is.." Tusu continued, shrugging. "Yeah, I wonder who." Dolphin stared out the car window, smiling as she could see Shaun leaving. "Dolphin, you were literally flirting with her in front of me." Stormz stared at the dolphin next to him, sighing. "Nah, that wasn't me." Dolphin replied, rolling her eyes.
Sans giggled, "Don't make her go on about Shaun again." he said. "What about you, Stormz? Met anyone new?" Tusu asked, sharing a look with Sans. Stormz felt blood rush to his cheeks, as he covered his eyes with his headwings. "I think I'm gay." He admitted, looking away. Hell, he could feel what they were going to say already. What Dolphin was going to say.
"You think?"
That resulted in laughter, but it was true. God, how humiliating. "And you say you're nothing like Dolphin.." Tusu teased, maybe asking that question about if Stormz met someone at the party was the right question to ask . "Stormz has a crush now? Who?" Sans questioned, while Stormz wished the car would somehow teleport him and him only to his house. "I'm not gonna tell you!" Stormz defended himself, his headwings even turning a bright colour of red.
"Atleast describe their face, bro." Dolphin nudged Stormz, chuckling. "He's.. really pretty." Stormz answered truthfully, covering his face with his hands. "Okay-Whatever. Let's just go." Stormz let go of his face, placing his hands on the steering wheel as he reverted his headwings back to their normal spot. He immediately placed his foot on the gas-pedal, driving off to each of their houses.
On monday, it was still as bad as the fallen angel being teased by his friends for having a crush, one reason, he had school. It was no use of trying to find Dumb, they were probably not even in this school. Maybe Stormz will never see that pretty, handsome, gorgeous, good-looking, demon again. To be honest, he wasn't even listening in class. If there was still class, maybe everyone had already left.
He felt someone pat his head, as Stormz immediately looked up. Oh, everyone had left except for him. "Class ended a couple minutes earlier, it's recess now." The dolphin said casually, as if it wasn't obvious enough to Stormz. "My bad." Stormz replied, standing up from his seat. "Are you thinking about that person again?" Dolphin teased, walking once the fallen angel started heading to the cafeteria.
"I don't think she's even in this school." Stormz groaned; he was so stupid to not ask for Dumb's number. "Sucks to be you." Dolphin said, yeah, sucks to be me, Stormz thought. "How's you and Shaun?" He changed the topic, placing his hands in the pockets of his jacket. "Perfect, she's actually the best person I could ask for." Dolphin responded, smiling mindlessly.
The whole conversation on the way there was just one another ragebaiting the other, either about their crush, or their scores in mathematics. When they were approaching the table they would sit at, Stormz was confused. Yet, he had to act normal. Because for some reason, Shaun was at their table, hell, even Jelex who said he was going to be absent was there. So he took a seat down, and, that only made things worse later.
Because one person was also there, Dumb. And Stormz wished he could've sat beside him, but Hazel was also there for some other reason. Stormz's crush, his party crush was at the same table as him. Not only did they look better, but she was so well-spoken. Stormz was only resting his chin on his palms just to one, relax his face, and two, look at Dumb.
For one, Stormz was actually participating in the conversation. A bit, though. He should ask for Dumb's number, no, now would not be a good time. "What about you, Stormz? What score did you get on the english test?" Dumb asked, leaning over to look at the fallen angel.
"Oh- I got a 93%." Stormz answered, Dumb was asking him. Hold on, Dumb was asking him. Stormz had a smile tugging at his lips, but he had to control himself. His headwings twitched slightly, if he was alone right now, he would be bright red and his wings covering him. "Wow." Dumb replied, giving Stormz a smile. A couple of minutes later, during the conversation, Stormz had to excuse him and someone else. "Dolphin, can we talk for a moment?" He asked, standing up from his seat.
"Sure." Dolphin replied, raising an eyebrow. She followed the fallen angel, going to a place no one could hear them in. "What is it?" Dolphin questioned, her voice laced with curiosity. "Only the two of us can know this, okay?" Stormz said, looking around him to see if anybody was listening in. "Okay?" Dolphin was even more curious, raising her eyebrow yet again. "Dumb, right?" Stormz said, blinking. "Uh huh?" Dolphin responded, she didn't know where he was going with this honestly.
Stormz's eyes darted to the floor, face becoming more noticeably red. "Did.. Something happens between you two?" Dolphin examined his expression, wondering what had happend. "It's not that," Stormz coughed, finally looking at Dolphin.
"The person at the party I liked is Dumb."
"Hazel, can I talk to you about something?" Dumb whispered to her, sounding nervous. "Yeah." Hazel whispered back, "Me and Dumb are just gonna excuse ourselves for a moment." she said to the others. Her and Dumb walked to an area where no one could hear their conversation, being far enough from the group. The group at the table they were at were still talking, though.
"What is it that you wanna talk about?" Hazel asked politely, raising an eyebrow. "Okay," Dumb took a deep breath first, "You know Stormz, right?" he said. Hazel hummed in approval, curiosity growing more. "I don't know how to say this, uh-" Dumb fiddled with their hands, avoiding eye contact with her.
"Dumb, if you don't want to tell me it's fine." Hazel reassured the demon, squeezing her shoulder. Dumb shook his head, "This needs to stay between the two of us." he sighed. A secret, one that could possibly humiliate Dumb in front of his own friends. "Stormz is.." The demon started, clearing their throat.
"Stormz is the guy at the party I was talking about."
How shocking, how oblivious the two were. Because one another didn't know it, but the other was in love with them. Dumb only brought up Stormz in the conversation just to hear and see him again, while Stormz only leaned over to sneak glances at Dumb without any suspicion. And it's all because of one thing, they were too shy to ask for each others number at the party.
Plus, they're too shy to even ask for it now. Acquaintances, that was their label to the others. Excluding Dolphin and Hazel, of course. Before they went to the cafeteria and sat down, the two was about to accept that the other wasn't at MAINAB school or they had already forgot about the other.
-——-
Dumb was out partying at some student's house, to be honest, he didn't even know who it was. Although, she only came because of Hazel and Sans and he had nothing to do on the weekend. Hazel looked as pretty in a platonic way, while Sans was also good-looking platonically.
Oh, and Dumb also came because they heard that Dolphin and Shaun were going to be at the party. She knew that Dolphin had a crush on Shaun for a while, the demon figured that Dolphin would confess to Shaun at the party. What more than to eavesdrop on your friend, right? It's not like Dumb didn't think that Shaun didn't like Dolphin back, anyway.
Honestly, it wasn't all that bad. The way to the bathroom was long, you'd probably have to go through someone making out just to go to it. Dumb was absolutely dumbfounded, pun intended, when he saw Shaun and Dolphin dancing together. Because for one, a hallway crush during middle school turned into this, and now they might just have to third wheel.
Whatever, Dumb thought. It'd be great to run into the love of his life right here and then do public display affection in front of the others just to show what Dolphin sort of looks like when shes with Shaun , sounds like a really great idea. But besides all that, she was mindlessly walking through the crowd.
Shit-
Dumb had accidentally bumped into someone, losing control of their balance as well. Thankfully she didn't fall head first, he managed to catch himself first before the floor did apparently. Dumb looked up and, oh my god, they might have just met an actual angel from heaven. The person in front of him had perfect white long hair, going over their shoulders. His features were soft, but outstanding due to the scarred side on the left side of his face.
Dumb might've actually met an angel fallen from heaven, if you ignore the very clear and obvious wings on the other's back and meant it in a metaphorical way. His heart beat went faster, staring at the man in front of him. He blinked, realizing what was happening. "Sorry, let me help you get back up." The angel extended his arm, helping Dumb stand up.
The demon grabbed the other's hand, getting back up with their assistance. She stared at him, admiring his features. Angelic, majestic even. The other's eyes were perfect, even the scarred side of their face matched them. Oh, the other was also looking at him. "No-I'm sorry." Dumb apologised, brushing the dust off of them. He cleared his throat, staring at the very useful alcohol spill on the ground, then at the person in front of him.
The way the other person's eyes looked at them made Dumb's heart flutter, a demon can't be with an angel, yet Dumb was willing to be a rulebreaker for once. "Uh- what's your name?" Dumb asked, breaking the tension between the air. "Stormz, yours?" Stormz replied, giving her a smile. "D-Dumb, nice to meet you." Dumb cleared his throat, feeling blood rush to his cheeks.
"Yeah, nice to meet you as well." Stormz replied, his voice smooth. Dumb couldn't help but look at his eyes again, seeing his pale eyelashes. "I-I'll go now, nice meeting you again." Stormz broke the eye contact, while Dumb noticed on how his headwings twitched just a bit. "See you again." She responded, angling their heel to walk away. Although, as the two were walking away from each other, Dumb looked over his shoulder to look at Stormz's hair again.
Holy shit.
-—-
"..What?" Dolphin widened her eyes slightly, her voice laced with actual confusion. "You have a crush on Dumb basically?" She clarified, turning her head slightly to place a look on Dumb. "Yes." Stormz replied, suddenly finding the floor to be interesting now. "Damn. And you didn't ask for his number?" Dolphin raised an eyebrow, her eyes going to Stormz this time.
"..Yes."
"So then why don't you ask for it now?"
"I don't know how to."
"Just go up to him and ask for his number."
"Right. And humiliate myself, how helpful."
"Is there any other way? Wait until he gives you his number? Make the first move."
Stormz groaned, "How do I even approach him?" he asked. "Probably when lunch is over." Dolphin answered, glaring at the fallen angel in front of her. "What do I even say?" Stormz questioned again, letting out a breath of air. "Ask yourself, not me." The dolphin responded, how come Stormz is the one asking these now? Falling in love with a demon as an angel, how wonderful, she thought.
"How did you do it with Shaun?" The fallen angel quizzed, placing his hand on his hip. "I went up to her and asked for her number." Dolphin answered truthfully, "You're so helpful." Stormz rolled his eyes. "It's either you make the first move or it's him, which one is worse?" Dolphin said, already feeling a headache reel in.
"Probably him making the first move." Stormz admitted, god.
Anyways, Stormz's and Dumb's conversation with their friend was now over. Hazeli in between the two oblivious people, and Dolphin in front of Stormz. "Hazel, I left something in the classroom earlier. Can you help me get it, please?" Dolphin winked at the other woman, making a sign. "Oh, sure." Hazel caught on, standing up from her. "Dumb, you sit next to Stormz, okay?" She added on, stepping over the bench to walk to the classroom with Dolphin.
"Okay." Dumb clearly felt nervous, scooting over to the side. The pale lashes of the angel were so distracting, not to mention some of his feathers brushing against her. Hazel did this on purpose to him, didn't she? Of course she had. "I miss Dolphin." Shaun pouted, clutching her heart dramatically. "They just went to get something." Sans physically cringed; an example of public display affection were definitely Dolphin and Shaun's relationship.
Stormz mentally thanked Dolphin, faintly smiling to himself. He wasn't a big fan of big crowds, of course. Not when the definition of good-looking was beside him, even worse in fact. He was thinking of ways to ask for their number casually, mentally crossing over some in his mind. He could ask for her number after this, but what if he isn't in the same class as him? When the bell rings, he could ask to get their number as friends. No, maybe not the friends part. Then, Stormz noticed his wings were touching Dumb. "Sorry." He retracted his wings slightly, did he leave a feather on him? This is just a humiliation ritual.
"Oh, no, it's fine. You can keep on doing that." Dumb said casually, yeah, an angel touching the shoulder of a demon with their wings, it's so fine. "I don't wanna make you feel weird or anything, my fault." Stormz stopped her. "Trust me, it's okay." Dumb replied, placing his hand on the angel's shoulder. Holy fucking shit. "Ah, well-" Stormz coughed, does the universe just want me to embarass myself? He thought. Oh, the bell rang. Time to go to class now, and possibly never see Dumb again. "Time to go to class, I guess." Jelex sighed, putting on his backpack.
"Yup." Shaun grabbed her backpack on the floor, walking away from the table carefully. Stormz made sure his bag wasn't touching his wings, as usual. Before he left for class, he should ask the question.
"Can I get your number?"
The two said in synchronisation, even turning their heads to each other. Stormz giggled, as well as Dumb. "Sure." Stormz pulled out his phone, trying to ignore the thought in his head saying that Dumb also wanted his number so he should've just asked earlier. "Oh, yeah, what's your next class?" Dumb asked, leaning over to look at Stormz's phone. She placed Stormz's number in his contacts, slowly going over the numbers. "Math. Yours?" Stormz responded, placing his phone in his pocket once the demon was done inserting his number into their contacts.
"Science, we both have horrible classes next, right?" Dumb chuckled, putting her phone in his pocket as well. Stormz laughed, a warm smile on his face. "Yeah." He responded, wow, the others were already off to their classes. "Well, see you." Dumb smiled at him, pivoting their heel to go to his class. "See ya." Stormz waved goodbye at the other, going in a different direction. Nice going, Stormz, you finally achieved her number.
"He's so cute.." Dumb murmured to herself, feeling his face heat up. The way he laughed, the way he smiled, everything about him was like a dream. He didn't talk much at the table, but when he did, Dumb thought his voice was just like an angel, suits him perfectly. Plus, he was always so.. kind with it. Personality and looks, what does he not have? He definitely did catch Dumb's heart, that's for sure. Science class, where was that again?
