Chapter Text
Nightmares have always been a big deal to Wilson. There hasn't been one week since middle school that Wilson hasn't woken up in the middle of the night because of a nightmare. Some nightmares being worse than others, the ones that usually got to Wilson the most were the ones about being left all alone. Left all alone without Brando.
Brando has always insisted to Wilson that he should wake him up if he ever needed comfort in the middle of the night but Wilson's always felt too bad. Why should he disturb such a peaceful, beautiful man during his slumber?
In a room that's barely familiar, Brando and Wilson are resting together on the couch that was just perfectly made for the two of them. There wasn't too much space between them yet it wasn't uncomfortably too cramped. Almost too perfect.
Wilson was laying on Brando’s chest, trying to sync up his heartbeat with the calmer pace of his lovers, until he suddenly couldn't feel the rhythm anymore at all.
“I'm sick and tired of dealing with all of you, Wilson.” Brando spoke abruptly to Wilson, the scent of disgust and annoyance lingering in his words as he pushed Wilson off of him, not too harshly but just enough to split the boy apart from him.
“Why don't you just leave me alone? I don't want anything to deal with you anymore. You're a burden to everyone you ever meet. You're a burden to me.”
Wilson only stared at the man ahead of him. He knew he had to be dreaming, Brando would never say such a thing to him, right?
Before Wilson could fully process the words, he felt a stinging sensation on his cheeks. He was crying. A lot. Too much.
Then, everything went dark.
Wilson blinked then woke up in a more familiar and comfortable setting with two arms holding him close to his chest by the waist, Brando's arms and chest.
Not enough light to be a reasonable time in the morning, but just bright enough to make Wilson’s eyes need to adjust to the lighting. Wilson blinked a bit more as he felt the recognizable feeling welled up in his eyes and chest. He was tearing up here too, both his mind and body remembering the dream.
First it came as heavier breathing, then hyperventilation. Wilson tried to stay quiet and calm in order to not wake Brando, but it turned out to be easier said than done. Then, he was sobbing convulsively in Brando's embrace.
It woke Brando up almost immediately. No questions asked, Brando holds him tighter, one arm making its way up to Wilson's nape, stroking it with care and comfort, the touch being a big contrast to the dream, the nightmare Brando.
“Do you want to talk about it?” Brando asks, pressing a soft kiss on the top of his head.
Wilson shakes his head no. “Just keep holding me, please?”
“Of course.” He responds, kissing the tip of his nose. Brando knew that Wilson always loved being kissed there.
Brando's breaths stayed slow and steady, while Wilson's came as gasps and frantic. Brando only kept him close, eventually bringing Wilson to his neck. Wilson found comfort in Brando's neck. His scent was like a breath of fresh air.
He was still crying, less but still blubbering, tears seeping down onto Brando's hoodie.
“Sorry about your hoodie..” Wilson lets out with a soft giggle.
“Wil, you know I don't mind.” Brando says while bringing Wilson's chin up to look at him. “I like my shirt soggy anyways. With your tears, though, nobody else's.”
“You're so perfect. I love you so much that no word could ever describe it. I don't even think you could fathom how much you mean to me. I'm sorry for being sappy. I love you.” Wilson blurts out, clutching onto Brando's back.
“I love you more.” Brando kisses Wilson again, on the lips this time. “I think I have a bit of an idea of how much it is. I'm the only one who's allowed to hold you like this, right?” He gives him another kiss, on his forehead now. “Or the only one who knows the beauty mark on your right wrist,” he says while bringing Wilson’s arm to kiss.
“Only you, I love you most.”
After a short time, Wilson drifted asleep, rosy cheeks and a small smile in Brando's presence. The perfect man he was so afraid of losing. The perfect man whose devotion towards Wilson was so strong only nightmares could try and ruin it. The absolute best man ever.
