Work Text:

“Haaah?!” The unison of shock gasps erupted in the club room. There's no way they believe in that information, it must be false, right? Until the person walks in—Long black hair, amethyst eyes, a body every girl could dream of—Lelouch vi Britannia has turned into a female.

“Good morning,” a girly voice muttered. Lelouch had already predicted their reaction before coming to school and oh boy, she’s trying to hide the embarrassment within her pride. Dressed in female uniforms, Lelouch looks even prettier with a skirt and a bowtie.

Let's go back to a few hours ago.

Today was supposed to be the drama rehearsal. Lelouch wakes up early, doing his usual morning routine. The casualty starts when he greets his little sister in the dining room and surprisingly his voice sounds way too high pitched and gentle, like a girl. It freaks him out and Nunnally. C.C finds this event interesting but she didn't want to interfere with the fun.

Lelouch, she is desperate to find the cause of her transformation by recalling everything she did yesterday. However, her focus was quickly disturbed by Suzaku’s voice calling out to her.

“Lelouch—”

“Oh, Suzaku.”

The brunette boy halts, staring at the familiar girl in confusion as if he only had three hours of sleep. Lelouch…? He—She?! Poor Suzaku, he's slapping hard on his cheeks, he didn't dare to believe what he was seeing right in front of him.

“Hey, stop that!” Lelouch came forward and grabbed both of his wrists.

“Wha—Huh? What happened to you?!”

“I should've asked myself the same thing.”

The school entrance was almost empty, though there were few students inside the classrooms. Using Geass to erase memories would be too reckless. Should I stay like this until I return to normal? Her mind is already swirling around about any possibilities and outcomes.

Suzaku walks one step behind her, his gentleman demeanor radiating like a loyal knight to the princess.

“Oh, right. Suzaku,” She turned around immediately to him. “Can I ask you a favor?”

Now, back to the present. The student councils fall into a silent discussion around the long table. Lelouch sits with legs and arms crossed, looking rather annoyed than awkward.

“Am I dreaming or Lulu becomes a girl?” Shirley is the first one to break the silence.

“This is too good to be true,” Rivalz sighed.

“What does that even mean?” Lelouch glared at his friends.

“Okay, okay. How about we continue our last rehearsal? Uh… I think we left on Lelouch’s part yesterday!” Suzaku quickly shifted the topic to ease the tension between Lelouch and others, except Milly who's acting way too calm about the situation.

“Right, in this scene, the Knight and the Prince go to the frontline to fight against the Kingdom’s enemies.” Shirley explained, reading the play script back.

“The Knight supposed to die after the war?” Lelouch quipped.

“Yes.”

“What a lame ending,” Lelouch exasperated at the storyline of their play. That makes her receive a flick on her forehead. “Ow!” She yelped, her palm brushing over the red mark.

“How about you write your own story then?!”

Before the fight turns into a big war, Rivalz calms Shirley down and Suzaku checks on Lelouch with concern.

“L-Let’s try to practice our dialogue first!” Suzaku suggested, he hates seeing his friends dispute like a childish war.

“Your highness!” Lelouch played the Knight role, kneeling in front of Suzaku with one arm behind her back and the other on her chest, bowing to show the loyalty and devotion of a knight. At least that's what the script says.

“This feels wrong,” Kallen commented.

“What is it now?” Lelouch got distracted and forgot her lines after the red haired girl commented.

“You should be the Princess and Suzaku be the Knight instead.”

Well, that makes sense considering their reversed roles now.

“Just… pretend I'm still a guy, okay?”

“Lelouch…” Suzaku empathized with her.

“Whatever, it's too late to turn back. We need to keep up before the deadline, until then, we should be ready to perform.” Her long black hair sways as she stands up from the floor.

“Come with me,” She grabbed Suzaku by his wrist and dragged the Japanese boy out of the student council's room. Her sudden command made his brain short-circuited for a moment.

“What is it?”

“Do you want to switch roles?” She asked, the decision laid bare in Suzaku’s hands.

“Huh? Why?”

“Because the majority of knights are male gender and I think what she said makes sense.” Lelouch crossed her arms. “Also, why does a prince need protection from a girl—” Her shoulders practically yanked closer, it made her gasp at the suddenness.

“Whether you're a girl or a boy, I will protect you.”

“... Okay, that's out of the blue.”

“I'm serious.”

Lelouch stares at him, blinking with a hint of doubt. Is it me or is he softening his tone for me? She couldn't read through his face since that puppy face is one of Lelouch’s weaknesses.

“I am more than capable of protecting myself, Suzaku.”

“Alright, then I'm sure you can handle your little fan club.”

“Fan club? What fan club—” Her gaze landed on the female and male students' stares. “... Perhaps a little security is necessary.”

Ever since then, Lelouch has relied on Suzaku for help to get away from the love confession she's about to get.
