Work Text:
Pecco was over the moon. He had managed to reach the podium after an incredibly tough race, a podium he had almost lost because of an Ogura who was simply far too fast for his poor Ducati. But after all the effort in the closing laps, he managed to finish third, alongside the two Aprilia riders.
---------------------------
“I did it, Pecco! I did it!!!” Marco shouted into his ear, grinning from ear to ear as he wrapped an arm around his shoulders. Pecco could have sworn he even saw a few tears of happiness in his eyes.
“You were amazing, Bez!
I'm so incredibly proud of you. You deserved this victory.”
“Well, I wasn't the only one who did an amazing job. Look at you—you managed to finish third with a bike that's nowhere near its full potential, and you even stayed ahead of me for about ten laps. You pulled off more than one miracle.”
Bez said, squeezing his shoulder. Pecco felt like the luckiest person in the world to have a friend like Marco, someone who could always make him feel better and smile no matter the situation, turning even the worst moments into something to be proud of.
“Hey! Congratulations to both of you, you had an incredible race.”
Pecco lit up the moment he heard that sweet, joyful voice accompanied by a strong Spanish accent.
“Well, yours wasn't bad either. You were really fast—you even managed to catch Pecco a few laps after I did.”
“But I still wasn't fast enough to catch you.”
“Well, that's because I'll always be faster than you two!”
“As long as you keep believing that,” Jorge replied, looking at Marco unconvinced before gently pulling him away from Pecco's side.
“You did an incredible job, Pecco.”
Jorge stood in front of him, wrapping his arms around his shoulders while Pecco rested his hands on his waist.
“You had an incredible race too, Jorge,” Pecco said before placing a soft kiss on his beloved's lips.
“Wow, you're so adorable. Just like two little lovers straight out of a Disney movie,” Bezzi said with particularly heavy sarcasm.
“What, are you jealous?” Jorge teased.
“Why would I ever be jealous of you two?”
“Maybe because we actually managed to confess our love, unlike you?” Pecco said with a mischievous grin just to annoy Bez, who immediately turned as red as a tomato.
“You asshole, Francesco! You're supposed to defend me, not attack me!”
Marco yelled, both angry and embarrassed at the same time.
Jorge and Pecco burst out laughing simultaneously.
“jajaja, me estás haciendo reír a carcajadas, eres divertidísimo Bezz,” Jorge chuckled, clutching his aching stomach from laughing so hard.
“You're both complete assholes...” Marco muttered, crossing his arms and pouting.
“Come on, don't take it personally. It's just a joke—you know we're always on your side,” Pecco reassured him, patting his back a few times.
“Exactly. We'll always have your back.”
“You're still both assholes,” Bez replied, though a small smile still tugged at his lips.
They were soon interrupted so they could celebrate with their respective teams. After a quick kiss between Jorge and Pecco, the Aprilia riders and the Ducati rider went their separate ways.
---------------------------
After all the celebrations, Pecco was finally ready to head back to his motorhome, take a shower, change into something comfortable, and relax with Jorge in his arms.
He had just started walking when someone suddenly stopped him by placing a hand on his shoulder.
“You had a really great race. Too bad you couldn't win, but bringing home a podium isn't bad at all.”
Marc congratulated him.
Now that he thought about it, Pecco hadn't really spent much time with his teammate over the weekend. They'd both been busy. The longest they'd spent together was probably when he'd made pizza, though he hadn't stayed long before bringing one over to Jorge as a surprise. A few minutes later Bez had shown up too—after all, good food could never be hidden from him.
“Uh... thanks. You did a great job too, especially considering you weren't at one hundred percent.”
“Well, I wasn't doing *that* badly. Besides, Pedro and Diggia were glued to my ass the whole race. If they hadn't been there, I would've caught up to you guys too,” Marc joked, squeezing Pecco's arm.
Pecco was still in his leathers, soaked in champagne and sweat—a combination that definitely didn't smell pleasant. He just wanted to get out of there and wash as soon as possible.
“Thanks a lot for the compliments, Marc, but I really should get going now. I can't stand being in this suit anymore, and I can't wait to wash this awful smell off me,” Pecco commented, making a thoroughly disgusted face at his own odor.
“Oh, no problem. Go ahead. I don't want to keep you any longer,” Marc said with a smile that was gentler than usual.
Pecco headed toward his motorhome, waving goodbye to Marc over his shoulder.
As soon as he got inside, he threw his leathers aside, walked into the bathroom, and took one of the best showers of his life.
Afterward, he put on a simple short-sleeved shirt, a pair of shorts, and some socks before settling onto his couch, which somehow felt much more comfortable than usual.
Then again, this weekend had been heavier than most, both on and off the track.
And with the wild celebrations that were just beginning, getting any sleep tonight would probably be impossible.
Still, he didn't want to be alone, so he decided to text his boyfriend, hoping he wasn't busy.
Pecco:
Hey Jorge, would you maybe like to come over to my motorhome and keep me company??
I'm tired and I'd really like to spend some time with you.
Of course, only if you're not busy.
Jorge💜:
Of course I'm coming!!!
I'll be there in about 10 minutes.
I just have to finish sorting a few things out and then I'll be there, my love ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Only after putting his phone down did Pecco realize he was smiling like a child whose parents had just given him candy.
He looked hopelessly in love.
Maybe he really was.
But he had never realized just *how* in love he was.
Thinking about it now, he'd never felt this way in any of his previous relationships.
Only Jorge made him feel like this.
He made him feel foolish and confused—but never in a bad way.
The affection Jorge gave him made him feel safe, welcomed.
It gave him the same warmth a fire gives you on an unbearably cold winter day.
And then there were his eyes.
That mixture of green and brown, almost amber, reminded him of those days that welcome the arrival of autumn.
Pecco still regretted all the years they'd lost after they stopped being teammates, and the way Pecco never tried to reach him.
He knew he'd made mistakes, and he was grateful Jorge had managed to forgive him.
Truthfully, it didn't even feel as though they'd been apart all those years.
The ease with which they talked, joked, and touched each other made it seem as though no time had passed at all.
He didn't know why, but there had always been this harmony between them.
As though they'd been created to complete one another.
Jorge's exuberance and Pecco's calm fit together like pieces of a puzzle.
The picture could never be complete if one piece was missing.
That's what they were.
Together, they brought out each other's true personalities, their truest selves...
------------------------
Pecco was pulled from his thoughts by frantic knocking at the door.
He got up from the couch with an energy he hadn't even realized he still had, though he had to pause for a few seconds to steady himself.
Then he walked to the door and opened it, finding an incredibly handsome Jorge Martin standing there.
His hair was slightly damp and messy, he wore oversized comfortable clothes, and he looked so soft and adorable, like a little teddy bear.
His height only reinforced the resemblance.
“So... can I come in, or am I supposed to stay out here?”
“Come on in.”
Pecco stepped aside to let his boyfriend inside.
Jorge settled onto the couch while Pecco locked the door behind them so no one could disturb them.
(Especially one sacred individual named Marco Bezzecchi.)
Pecco joined him on the couch so they could look each other in the eyes.
“So... how are you feeling?” Jorge asked in his gentle way, stroking Pecco's cheek.
Pecco practically melted at the touch.
“Just a little tired... but I missed you. We barely saw each other after the podium. Between all the celebrations and interviews, time just flew by.”
A small smile formed on Pecco's lips, mirrored moments later on Jorge's.
“Yeah, you're right. I'm exhausted too. But never too tired to come spend some time with you. Besides, I needed a little peace and quiet. Everyone at Aprilia is celebrating like crazy because of Bez's win, so honestly I don't mind lying here next to you.”
“Wait... did you say everyone's partying with Bez?”
“Yeah. Why?” Jorge asked, sounding a little skeptical.
“Because he'll probably come here later. Either he'll have forgotten where he left the key to his motorhome, or we'll have to go looking for him before he gets himself into trouble.”
Pecco finished with a sigh.
“Well, Sava's with him, so I don't think there'll be any problems,” Jorge said before leaning in and kissing Pecco.
Nothing extraordinary.
Just a slow, gentle kiss.
“Come on. Let's get some rest. Then we'll head back to the hotel, curl up in bed, order some food, and watch a movie. And this time, you get to choose everything.”
Jorge snuggled against Pecco, resting his head on his shoulder while Pecco wrapped his arms around Jorge's waist and rested his own head on top of Jorge's.
“Wow... I feel honored,” Pecco joked.
“Well, you should. Your taste is pretty questionable, especially when it comes to movies.”
“Oh wow, thanks for the compliment. You hurt me so deeply that now I'm not letting you buy those little outfits for Turbo anymore.”
“Ohhh, come on, I was joking! You know how much I love those little outfits.”
“This is exploitation of my dog.”
“That's not true. You're the only one who doesn't like them.”
“If you say so...”
They kept talking like that until they eventually fell asleep.
In the silence, all they could hear were their synchronized breaths.
--------------------------
Pecco is probably the luckiest person in the world to have a boyfriend who will always be there for him, who will never let him feel alone or incomplete.
And he'll do everything he can to make sure Jorge feels the exact same way.
