Work Text:
they are sat at the top of a hill under a tree, the wind blows through Williams bangs as he looks over the horizon. the sunset is beautiful, almost as gorgeous as the man next to him. William turns his head to look at Michael sitting next to him, still in his armour, already looking at him with a smile. neither of them said anything, they just stared at each other in awe.
Williams eyes dart over the other mans face, looking at the freckles splayed over his nose, his sharp cheekbones, his bitten red lips, and back to his eyes. how did he get so lucky to find such a perfect person that would do anything for him?
Michaels smile widened in a way that always told William that he was about to say something silly.
“Would you love me if i was a stone?” Michael the brave said. Williams eyebrows furrow.
"What kind of question is that?” Will said through a giggle.

William is sat at the top of a hill under a tree, the sky is grey as rain pours over him. he stares blankly in front of himself, his knees pulled to his chest as the thunder crackles around him. he can't bring himself to care about how hes soaked, or anything for that matter. he's cried all his tears, his eyes are dry and his face stings.
"In Memory of Michael Wheeler
a Brave, Kind and Loyal Knight." the stone infront of him says.
Will has read over it time and time again, he can't accept it. his heart aches every night he lays in bed with a spot next to him that used to be warm with his lover and is now just cold and empty. he will never see his beautiful face again, never hear his silly questions, never feel the warmth of his hand in his own, never smell the scent that is so distinctly him, and never taste his mouth on his.
he thinks about the last time they were under this tree, the silly question Mike asked that didn't seem so silly anymore. Will laughed anyways, the irony.
“yeah.. i still love you, even as a stone.” he rests his forehead against the cold stone.
