Tale of The Caged Griffin
Dipper walks into the Mystery Shack and stops dead in his tracks. Setting there is a cage with a griffin that in it. He steps closer and examines it. It has the head and wings of a bald eagle and the body of a lion. "That's so cool!," he says with his voice high in excitement. The beast stares at him with curious eyes. He jumps slightly as it lets out a call. "Ha, it sounds like a seagull!," Grunkle Stan laughs as he walks into the room. Mable is walking beside him with a big smile on her face.
"I want to name it Fluffy!," she yells loudly as she approaches the griffin. The other two look at her like she lost her mind. "You want to name my newest attraction Fluffy?," he asks her with a bewildered expression. His eyebrows rise so high that they're under his fez. "Yep," she replies saying the p with a loud pop. Her brother shakes his head in disbelief. "Of course only you would want to name a majestic creature Fluffy," he says with a deadpan tone.
"Please, like you can think of a better name?," she retorts back at him. He crosses his arms and smirks. "Cedric," he tells her proudly. Stan throws his hands up in anger. "Oh of the love of JP Morgan! You're both terrible at this!," he yells at them. He walks behind the front desk and grabs a blank sign. Writing the name 'Wilson' on it. He goes back to the cage and sets the sign in front of it. "There you happy now!," he grumbles as he walks outside to greet customers. Mable shrugs in response and goes to take care of Waddles.
Dipper sighs as he looks at the griffin. "I'm still think that you look more like a Cedric," he says to the winged creature. He then leaves to go do his chores. Not noticing that the beast is watching him. Once he's gone it uses its paws to grab the sign. Taking its claws and starching 'Wilson' off to replace it with Cedric. Drawing a little pine tree next to it. The newly named monster nods his head in approval and places the sign back outside of the cage. He lays down and continues looking at the direction where the young boy walked off. Vowing to hisself that he would keep him safe. 'Don't worry little one. I'll keep you safe,' he thinks to himself as he falls asleep.
