Chapter Text
You are an awfully competitive person, strictly raised to be the best at anything that is given to you. Being above average at most things certainly boosted your ego, but you are most outstanding in combat.
Everything about yourself screamed elegance. Striving in praise from everyone before you. But there's always someone that makes you feel like you aren't enough. Just by hearing the name of the prodigy child of science is enough to kill your mood swiftly.
Senku. Ishigami Senku. Every time he's mentioned sets you prepared for what is about to come. For years you tried to best him in his knowledge, but every attempt you make is a failure. Fueling you more motivation and envy to rid his smug look off his face.
He always corrects you whenever he gets the chance. Giving you snarky remarks and sarcastic jokes every time he opens his mouth. He's merciless when it comes to put you back in your place. And you hated that.
You hate being defied on, you wanted him to disappear. He likes provoking you, a sadist he is. He knows he's better. You know he's better. And it's pissing you off.
...
It's lunch time and instead of eating like a normal student, you set off outside the court practicing your kicks in the air. You love letting yourself be free of pressure, allowing you to take out your emotions through physical activities. It brings you that fire inside your body better than anything else.
You paid no mind to the passersbys, focusing on yourself and your movements. Silence slowly surrounds the area, your brain muting everything else. You got so lost in your practice you didn't hear a certain someone approaching you from behind.
"Oi" that voice cutting you through your mind.
"What do you want Ishigami?" You stopped whatever you were doing and sighed, already annoyed by his presence alone.
"Kekeke, just curious as to why you were treating the air like it offended your entire bloodline."
"Very funny." You finally turned around to face him looking bored.
"Come on don't look at me like that, can't a guy wonder?"
"Can't a girl be in peaceful silence alone?"
"Your actions were anything but peaceful."
"Whatever." You immediately walked over to the direction of the school, passing him by like he's nothing. You felt your patience running out by the second you felt him following you.
"You shouldn't creep on people from behind jackass." You exclaimed with obvious frustration.
"I'm not creeping on you, I'm walking with you. There's a difference." His tone being suspiciously calm.
"Well can you walk the other way?"
"Mad too much? Relax, this is the direction towards the lab. Would it kill you to be with me?"
"Yes." Replying almost instantly.
"Kekeke, lighten up for once. I never see you smile." He said teasingly.
"Because you are one of the most insufferable person I've met." You retorted.
"You know you love it."
You were about to kick his leg as you turned to his direction until he smoothly walked over to his right where the lab is located, dodging for whatever attempt you were making.
"You know, I could definitely use your help for my experiment." He added as he opened the door with a grin that speaks mischief.
"Not in a thousand years. I would never waste my time on your chemicals." You remarked quickly as you walked away without giving him the chance to reply. Your fists clenched at your sides from the thought of him.
'What is wrong with him? Asking me to help him of all people. He knows damn well I hate him with all my soul.' You thought, your brows furrowing in annoyance.
You found yourself at the front of the library. Wanting to kill some time left, you marched inside without hesitation. The inside is filled with books and silence. Trying to calm yourself down after that 'horrible' interaction you sat yourself down at one of the chairs, settling down in the desk with a sigh.
'He's so weird. Seriously why does he love pushing my buttons like his life depends on it.' You pondered with your chin propped under your hands. But your thoughts stopped when suddenly, you see something bright and green-ish outside through the windows. You quickly stood up, reaching towards it.
You see it move, swallowing the people outside and turning into something you can't tell.
'No, no, this isn't good!' You felt your heart racing, pulsing inside rapidly in your chest. The light was coming near. Immediately you put on a defensive stance. But soon became worthless as your whole body froze.
Just a few seconds in, you no longer could feel, hear, smell, see, anything. As if everything around you hit the pause button. You tried everything but nothing, not a single movement.
'Fuck this is bad! I knew that leek-head is bad luck! I swear every time I talk to him something always goes wrong but never in this level!' You wanted to scream out your lungs from fear but of course nothing happens.
'No, I mustn't panic. It is pointless. I need to figure out how to get out of this. For what I know, I'm basically immobilized plus my senses being non-existent. Only my consciousness retained. I'm guessing I have to, well not drift off to the darkness. This might be my way out, somehow...' Your thoughts shifted to him.
'Yeah. He's definitely in the same state as I am. Probably doing equations or something as crazy as counting down the seconds. Insanity. But even so, I can't let him beat me. It will be mortifying if I let myself lose consciousness before him.
I may be stuck like this for years, but I don't care. I will never lose to you Ishigami. Never.'
