Zenitsu had to do it, he just had to. He already had the letters ready, he just needed to go through with it. The pills he got from a broken rib were right next to him waiting for him to take them, take them all, and if that didn't work he has more pills next to it, he plans on taking them all. So, he does, he swallows all of them, they go down easily with the water he has, and now he has to wait. It doesn't take long until he looses conciousness....
Zenitsu hasn't been coming to school or answering his phone for the last 3 days, and Tanjiro is getting worried, really worried. 'This isn't like him to not message me, and he isn't coming to school, should I visit him after school today?' He thinks as he does his work, his thoughts get interrupted when inosuke jumps on his desk and screams about him being the 'mountain god'.
After school he gets a call it's from, Zentisu, its from zenitsu, he instantly picks it up yelling into the phone "Zenitsu where have you been, and why haven't you answered any of my messages?" Theirs silence, "Tanjiro, this isn't zentisu." 'What?'
"What? Wheres zenitsu?"
"He-he, my boy I can't say this over the phone come over please."
"Oh okay jigoro I'll be there soon." He hangs up and starts running to zenitsus house.
It doesn't take long to get their (because he ran the whole way), as soon as he gets ther Jigoro is their at the door, "come in lad" he says gesturing tanjiro to enter.
Once he enters he goes and sits at the couch waiting for Jigoro to come.
"As you know zenitsu hasn't been at school or answering messages or calls..." Tanjiro nods along not knowing where this will go, "well, 3 days ago.. zenitsu, he-he, committed suicide.."
He stopped breathing, his throat felt tight, no, no, no, Zenitsu, he couldn't of, no he wouldn't, this is a joke. "I-is this a joke?"
Jigoro says nothing he just shakes his head.
Tanjiro feels like throwing up, "no, no, no, zenitsu, he, he wouldn't do that.. no, he can't be gon-" a sob breaks through his body, he feels dizzy and norshious, this couldn't be real, his best friend, is gone.
"He wrote you a letter, if you would like to read it.." Jigoro said grabbing a piece of paper folded up, it had his name on it in zenitus hand writing.
He nodded and grabbed the letter, he slowly opened it, here's what it said.
Dear tanjiro
Your the reason I made it this far and for that I thank you,
But their are things you can't fix and the thing you couldn't fix was me,
I'm sorry for doing this,
You don't deserve this,
And I'm sorry,
I'm sorry you had to find out his way through a stupid letter,
I'll miss you,
I hope you'll miss me,
You made my life full of joy,
You were my sunshine,
So please be someone else's,
I love you tanjiro,
I'm sorry I said this through my suicide note,
I love you,
Please move on though,
I'm sorry, I love you.
Dearest, Zenitsu.
Tears began pouring down his cheeks, zenitsu loved him, zenitsu is dead, he's sorry. This is all too much, Tanjiro stands up and runs out the house, brining the letter with him, he ran home as fast as he can.
He makes it home and goes straight to his room locking the door behind him, he lies on his bed sobbing, how could he not have noticed, zenitsu needed help, why was he such a bad friend to someone who needed help, those where the only things he could think about till the morning.
'This was strange' kie thought walking to tanjiros room 'tanjiro is normally the first person awake' she made it to tanjiros door and knocked "tanjiro, dear it's time to wake up." She said, but their was no answer, "daling I'm coming in." She gently opened the door...
She instantly threw up, their was her baby boy handing from a rope, he suddenly fell from it landing on the floor, nezuko and takeo heard their mother and came to see what happened, then they saw it, tanjiros lifeless body on the floor, they now new why their mother threw up, "m-mum, he's gonna be fine, right??" Kie couldn't talk her throat was tight, she only shook her head, that was all the confirmation they needed, nezuko started crying, and takeo tried to convince himself it wasn't real, but all of them new, Tanjiro was gone, so was zenitsu.
