Chapter Text
It was a shot in the dark. Kris didn't let themselves hope it'd work. They planted the seeds, the ones they had found not so long ago in.... Flowerys soil. There were 14 seeds altogether. The first 8 had sprouted, but died shortly after, before the castle towns darkness could even grant them mind.
They knew it wouldn't work. But.... The first ones sprouted. Surely that meant something? They held out their soul... It didn't sting to take out any more, maybe a byproduct of that... Thing finally leaving? Regardless, they stared into its red glow... Despite Kris best efforts to help the knight, the .... Angel, as it was called, always knew a way around it. Never gave up. Always stayed... Determined. What would the angel do..?.... ... Determination. Will. They... Hadn't really let themselves believe. More out of fear of dissapoinment than anything. The plants still needed light and water... But... They had darkners who could provide that. It just wasn't... "Real enough"
Yet.... Will is what made them have any... Reality at all. Dark fountains, a manifestation of will-..... That was it. This dark fountain was... Strong. But not strong enough, not real enough. It would be risky, too much darkness would make a Titan form, but they had to try. Their soul shimmered, and the pure crystal that had helped them before once again shook with power.
They went into Ralseis castle once more, and into the door that had been locked for so long, walking up to the fountain, and letting their soul out. With the pure crystal in hand, it's will and their souls own combined, a light was unleashed, running deep into the fountain, flowing into the dark. The power of the fountain grew, growing darker and darker, it's will was being changed and empowered. All at once, Castle town grew. A garden, near the grand door.
Kris soon found the newly formed garden, a large ball of light that almost felt like sunrays floated above it, and a stream of water that tasted almost real flowed along side it. Kris took out the last six seeds and planted them.
It took a long time. Months even and yet no signs of growth occured. Kris knew that they couldn't let doubt afflict them however, this much was only possible from unfiltered will. So... They got help. Their father already knew about dark worlds... So it wasn't any harm for Kris to ask for some assistance, right?.... Asgore was happy to help his child, after all, every plant deserved a good story and love and care. Eventually, some sprouts finally appeared. Kris and Asgore continued to look after them, Kris even recounting to them events that had happened within their fathers shops dark world.
One day however, Kris walked into the garden... However not a single sprout remained... Where... Where had they gone?
Then a familiar voice called to them.
"Kris! Kris! I found you! Come on! Let's play!"
It... Worked. It actually worked! Kris turned to see Aqua bouncing in place.... They almost felt tears in their eyes..... Had they really missed the flowers so much?
Eh, didn't matter now, there was a lot of catching up to do!
