“You know you don’t have to do this.”
He wasn’t as brave as he came across.
He always shook everything off. But deep inside, he’s terrified, that Mapicc. He’s scared not only that he’s about to die, but scared that it could be by Spoke’s hand.
The roaring flames engulfed the room they were in. The humid air accompanying the tension between the two.
His uneven breath fogged the metal of the sword pinned right next to his neck.
Spoke had a life in his hands. He’d better decide wisely.
“You really don’t.” His icy eyes were close to tears. Voice raw.
“Give me a valid reason I shouldn’t end you right here.” Spoke snarls.
Mapicc’s silence hurt Spoke only slightly. But he wouldn’t let it hurt. He would maintain the tyrant he was labelled. It was the only way to survive.
“You rebel against me, fool.” Spoke whispered.
“I…” Mapicc inhales a jagged breath, “I didn’t have a choice.”
“You could’ve joined me. Aided me.”
“The entirety of Null under your thumb and you needed me of all people to aid you?” A tear rolls down Mapicc’s cheek.
“I only have Null because I wanted to save you.” Spoke lowers the sword to the ground slowly.
“You almost killed me to have Null! You were willing to sacrifice me!” Mapicc shoves Spoke.
Spoke stumbles back and stares at Mapicc.
He didn’t see Mapicc anymore.
Mapicc probably never saw Spoke since.
“You’re just like them. You’re just like Lettuce, like Ashswag, like Jamato.” Mapicc whispers. “The only difference is that we were able to overthrow them together.”
Spoke kneeled to the ground, body trembling.
“Stop it! I’m not like them! I’m trying to save Unstable!” Spoke chokes on his words, tears blurring his vision.
“You’ve doomed it the moment you joined.” Mapicc looks down at Spoke.
Maybe he was braver than Spoke thought.
“Do you really think of me that way?” Spoke muttered.
“Yes,” Mapicc nods, “yes, I do.”
It was silent between them, the only sound the crackling flames around them. They were surrounded by a spreading ring of fire.
Spoke takes his sword and places it on his hands. He raises the sword to give to Mapicc.
“Maybe we can still beat them together.” Spoke smiles sadly, lifting his head to see Mapicc’s shocked expression.
Mapicc shudders, taking the sword hesitantly.
Spoke hands the totem to Mapicc.
The totem that put the entirety of Null in Spoke’s control. If all went according to plan, Mapicc would wield this totem too.
“If you deem me unworthy of ruling, please, take Null and do what you think is just. Your opinion was all I ever cared about, anyway.” Spoke kneels for Mapicc.
Mapicc takes a sharp breath in and sets the tip of the sword on Spoke’s shoulder.
“I don’t want to do this Spoke.” Mapicc quavered.
Spoke spares a chuckle, “I’d rather you kill me than me burning to death. Please make it quick.”
“God, Spoke!” Mapicc snapped, “You and you’re stupid jokes!”
Spoke feels himself on the verge of fainting. It was really hot.
He wouldn’t let the fire take him out, though.
“It’s getting really hot in here.” Spoke says weakly.
“I know…” Mapicc wipes his tears on his sleeve.
“Well don’t take your time.”
“Maybe…maybe we can leave together. We can deem ourselves dead and we can live life without all of this. Just me and you millions of blocks out. We can do the pranks we always wanted to do. Just please don’t make me do this.” Mapicc wept.
Spoke clutches the tip of the sword set on his shoulder and drags it slowly deeper down his neck, it bled slightly. Spoke bit his tongue to keep from crying out. “Like this.”
Mapicc gulps.
“Just don’t let my death be for nothing.”
“I promise…I promise I won’t let it go to waste.”
Spoke could finally die at ease. He could die knowing that Mapicc has everything now, and he was ever so grateful.
It would finally end.
