Fountains and threads

Summary:

Percy had only ever wanted a normal life. No monsters chasing him, No fighting to the death. Just a good old mortal life with a loving mom and dad and maybe a partner. Sadly it seems like fate likes to play with its favorite little thread. the Moirai have watched him fight for years. They whispered in the gods ears to offer him godhood, to finally reward him and give him just what he wished. but time and again he refused. Now they take maters into their own hands. The tapestry unwound and Percy is given everything he wished. Even if it's not exactly how he pictured it.

Chapter Text

Percy wasn't aware what was happening. One minute he was  in his cabin resting. He had just finished a full day of teaching Sword fighting classes and there was still time before dinner. He took this time to think about the past few years. All those who had been lost, Those he had meet. Sure it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows but he also would never had meet all the friends he had. Even is some made his chest ache. Thinking of those who were lost in the battles.

Finally though he could rest. After this summer he would leave for New Rome and start a college coarse there. For what he wasn't sure yet. Honestly he didn't think he would get this far. Sense he was 12 years old he had always been told he would be lucky to make it to 16. His shroud had been woven multiple times and he had burned many others for his friends. Now though he was 18. Chiron had requested he return next summer to help around the Big house and he was going to College !! Him! He had been lucky he even PASSED high school.

However after fighting for so long, Never sure if he would even live the next summer, he....didn't know what to do with himself. Everyone else seemed to know what they wanted to do. Annabeth had been Excepted into the Architecture program in New Rome, Sally and Paul had Estelle to care for now, Nico was spending more time with Will as they talked about their next step.... so why did he feel so stuck.

He was sure if he talked to annabeth about it she would say something about PTSD and how he should just take it one step at a time or something like that but that was the hard part. he didn't know what "step" to take. Sure he could go with the obvious choice and join the Marine Biology program. He knew he would be great at it. But that didn't feel right. At one point he had thought he as Annabeth would start a family after they were allowed to rest but that...had kinda fizzled out after Tartarus.

He could spend some time with his Mortal family. He loved them to pieces after all. But if he went he would just be in their way. His mom finally had the chance to have a regular safe family. Sure he knew she wouldn't mind him visiting and his little sister loved him but... he just felt like he was getting in the way.

flopping on the bed he laid back. He supposed he could always help back with the legion again... being a Praetor wasn't to bad and he had even been offered an apartment when he came back. Reyna had even requested it and he did technically have more years with the Legion.... but he was just so tired of fighting a well. It felt like all he ever did sense he was 12 was fight. He didn't really get to have a childhood because of Smelly Gade. He could feel his face scrunch remembering him. He knew his mom was just trying to help but even now years later he still haunts his nightmares.

Percy rubbed his face, pressing the palms of hands into his eyes. He did NOT want to think of that mess right now. he needed to figure out what he was going to do after camp. There was only a week left.

Somewhere else they watched as Percy struggled. They felt his thread stretch and pull muttering to their siblings.

"They were never meant to stay like this so long" One said

"Agreed, Now their thread is caught"

"No future , no purpose"

"We tried to nudge them" an other huffed.

"To what good, he always refused to mater our whispers"

"they must, they are at the end of this line with no way to length in it and we can't cut it yet!"

"What would you have me do sister? there is no thing left to weave!"

"Then we unwind..." the other two sisters snapped their head at the youngest.

"unwind? After all this work?

"We must, perhaps this thread needed to be woven into it's godhood instead..." They chattered amongst themselves, Arguing about what to do.

"And where do we even send them? If we go back to their birth this will all just repeat!"

"If born into godhood then the boy will never learn the lessons he needs!"

"We can cradle the mind, Keep the memories, keep the scars but revert to a appropriate age. he can grow with the gods. revise the early" Their sisters gasped.

"So far back!"

"We want me to weave it ALL over?!?!"

"yes! This is our favorite! His refusal has caused an imbalance! now we must fix it at the source..."

'the source" One groaned her hands twitching and looking at the tapestry before them.

"Fine! we unwind... then we fix it... he will not be pleased" she huffed. The youngest softly smiled.

"when is he ever please with our work. yet he surprises us still. Intime he will learn...this is for the best" the eldest shook her head.

"very well... we are in agreement... we unravel... and do it all over" resined the three sighed and started to unwind. keeping hold of one beautiful blue thread, The Youngest taking her time to weave gold thread through it and the middle grumbled, her world turning to lose threads at their feet. Then, Thousands of years of work lost they took the now gold and blue thread and wove it into an image of a foutain.

"The perfect time" ....
