Chapter Text
“James. James, get the fuck up.” Martin shook him. “GET THE FUCK UP!”
“What, huh?” As he jolted awake, James was confused; Martin would never swear at him let alone yell in all seriousness. Something must’ve ticked him off bad for him to act like that. James took a gander around the room before finding out he fell asleep in the studio again for the 3rd time. No wonder Martin was upset, James kept promising that he wouldn’t.
“These children drive me nuts… James just hurry up and get out before the company finds out.” Martin ushered. James nodded and got up, opening the door and walking out into the air. Falling fast, he panicked before his body hit the ground. But, he jolted awake a second time, Martin's concerned face being to his right. “Woah, you okay?” James nodded.
“ Just a nightmare..sorry.” Martin gave him a pat on the shoulder before staring at James for a few moments.
“The others wanna get ramen, you wanna come?” He politely asked, James nodded in return and got up to get dressed. Despite how slow he got up, James’ swayed; his peripheral vision going black before fainting. Martin caught him and laid him back on his bed. Having to watch over James now, Martin went to the living room and gave the others the word that he’d stay with James. By the time he waltzed back into James’ room, the bed was empty and the bathroom door was open. He rushed to James’ side, finding him yacking in the toilet.
“I'm sorry I ruined tonight..” James apologized. Martin shook his head. His throat burned as he croaked out that apology. “ I had a dream inside a dream…”
“It’s not your fault, just keep letting it out.” Martin replied. James attempted to respond but he ended up hurling into the toilet. This was definitely going to be a long night for the both of them, moreover James than Martin. Speaking of, Martin got up to get a thermometer. A deep look of worry emerged on his face when he found out James’ temperature: 39.6C(103.2F). To test how stable James was, he moved his finger around slowly. Martin found James staring into the same spot multiple times.
“Those butterflies are a pretty purple…” James uttered. His words were starting to slur together and his world was spinning. His eyes pinpointed to Martin's purple shirt, though there were no butterflies on them. It was a plain shirt.
“Yeah, they’re beautiful, huh?” Martin played along. Sliding one arm under James’ knees and 1 under his arms in a bridal carry. “What other colors are the butterflies?” He asks, hoping to keep James distracted while he grabs a cool towel and texts the manager that he’ll focus on caring for James rather than group activities.
“They’re blue…purple..and yellow..” Martin nodded as James’ out-of-it response. He gently pushed James to lie down and placed the cool towel on his forehead. James grabbed onto Martin’s pants, his fear of having a horrid fever dream creeping in. His body began to feel numb, figures that were never there started to appear. Something was definitely going on…
