“I’m heading out Shione-chan. We are out of curry aaagain.”
Biting her lips. Shione Ichinose waved her wife goodbye, watching as she walked out the door, those last words sharp like a dagger to her heart.
‘Shione-chan, not even “Shione” anymore.’
On nights like these she wandered, as she always did, to the framed photo of their wedding day. Mai in a suit, too tiny to look the part of a handsome bride and she, in a matching white dress. That day. She still remembered that dramatic day. She remembered Mai being late. She remembered wondering if Mai had changed her mind last minute. And she remembered Mai dramatically bursting through the door, apologising and affirming her eternal love for her.
That was a year ago now. And now. Now they had become so distant.
It had started inconspicuous at first. Gatherings “with a friend.” Prolonged calls on the phone. And it was not long before Shione noticed the long white hairs left on Mai’s clothes.
Shione took that photo and clutched it to her heart, tears falling down her face.
Where, where had it gone so wrong?

Holding Alina up by her bottom, Mai Ichinose leaned back into the sofa as her maid for the night deepened the kiss. The moment she had walked into that apartment for their weekly tryst and she saw Alina wearing ‘that,’ Mai was instantly spellbound. Shione would never do that for her, Mai thought, she was too normal, too boring. Hell, her marriage had become too boring.
But Alina? Alina was exciting, interesting. The kind of girl who knew her best and much better than her wife ever did. And it helped that she knew how to touch her in all the right places.
Mai knew she would have to return home with another prepared excuse.
But for now with Alina straddling her lap, pleasing her in ways that her wife couldn’t- her dull marriage could wait.
