Chapter Text
Shinobu The bell rings and everyone sits down, most of them not even half awake at 7 am in the morning. They should have gotten up earlier then, Shinobu had had that foresight at least.
"Okay class, today's a pop quiz," The teacher says, glasses glinting in the light.
The class lets out a collective groan, the loudest of which seem to come from Inosuke and Uzui, with some little whimpers from Zenitsu, who Shinobu is guessing, didn't finish the project or study. While she supposes that the teacher could have at least given them less homework, she already knows that for them that wasn't an option. They had a project, worth 25% of this quarter's grade due today, and only three days to complete it, so studying was almost impossible. Though it could be allowed that the research they had to do for the project qualified as studying.
She breathes as the teacher hands her the paper, and she sets it on her desk right in the middle. She checks it twice, just to be certain.
When she looks up she witnesses two kids in front of her passing a note between themselves every few seconds, pausing only to write back. Sabito and Giyuu. Shinobu's convinced it's like a daily ritual the two have, passing notes in the middle of class and having silent, and frankly suspicious reactions to whatever the other person wrote. That doesn't mean that doing it while a quiz is being passed out isn't extremely idiotic of them.
"You know," Shinobu whispers, so only Giyuu and Sabito can hear her, "You're going to get caught,"
Sabito fwips around to look at her, his eyes going wide, and face adopting the color of a light pink flower on a summer day, Giyuu turns around as well though his face is plenty neutral besides of course for the hint of a redness on his ears. Shinobu does a double take before her brain settles on a big fat question mark. She frowns at the two boys in front of her, then she's even more confused when she realizes that Giyuu's ears look slightly red. That confusion lets way to understanding in a flash.
"What?" She asks, then says viciously, still though with the quietness of a mouse, "Do I have something on my face?"
Sabito reels back before saying, "No, but you didn't see the note did you?"
"No," Shinobu answers, then continues careful to keep her voice low, "Why would I care what sort of love letters you're writing to each other,"
She scoffs and turns to her quiz before she see sees either of the boys reactions to her statement. She picks up her pencil and starts to write on the page, as she should have been doing this whole time.
