Work Text:
There was a space under the ship that the vents lead too that Lime liked to call his room. The room was under the ships floor boards, in between Med-bay and the Cafeteria. It wasn't apart of the vents, no, It was found when Lime saw a tiny hole in the vents metal and decided to make the hole bigger with a hammer. So the entrance to the room is sharp, torn metal that's rusted on the ends from him spraying 'holy water' on it. Gladly he'll never get caught on that rusted metal and get injured.. right..?
"Ya thanks" Lime says flatly as he grabs two slices of pizza from the Kitchen's counter. Yellow leans over to watch him walk back to the vent before asking something.
"Hey, why ya never eat with the others? sometimes it's good to socialize ya know!" She said laughing to herself at the end. Lime looked back at her and scoffed.
"You all could corrupt my brain with your weird doings! No, you WILL corrupt me with MIRA stuff! and I ain't falling for that!" Lime said, hopping into the vent and shutting the lid. Yellow sighed, it wasn't like she wanted him to talk to the others anyways. He'd probably just start screaming at everyone.
Lime crawled through the vents, holding two slices of pizza in one hand. Once he got to his secret room, he climbed in, reaching out to put the pizza on top on a box before he felt something scrape against his wrist. He jolted, dropping the pizza onto the cold, dirty floor.
Lime clutched his wrist and moved away from whatever hurt him. It was the sharp end of the rusty vent. "Dang it, you were supposed to protect me not hurt me!" He hissed, letting go of his wrist and waving a fist at the rusty metal. Lime looked down to his wrist, seeing the blood drip down from his hand to the floor. He went over to his 'holy water' bottles and grabbed one, pouring some water onto the cut, before pausing and looking into the bottled water. There was flakes and other dirt things in the water from what he could see in his dimly lit room. Well, too late now to take it back, and plus, it was holy water! That can never do wrong!
Lime then put his 'holy water' back into the pile of other bottles full of water and went over to his extra Bandanna's and tied one around his wrist. He positioned it in a way where nobody could see the injury if it wasn't moved.
Lime picked his pizzas up off the floor, then took a bite out of one. Dirty or clean, to him is was still food that could be eaten.
After a few days of just trying to ignore the cut, it was getting to be too much. Even the slightest touch makes his whole body flinch. He didn't want to go to Med-bay, he really didn't. Blue was going to corrupt his brain and do weird scans on him to sell his insides or something! Maybe the cut would heal on it's own, that's what happens when you put enough holy water on it, right? It will disappear one day?
But he was starting to doubt that.. Maybe he should go to Med-bay? Just when Blue isn't there so Lime can do it himself? That seemed like a solid plan.
Lime waited for lunch to start before crawling into the vents and heading for Med-bay, somewhere he didn't really go so his didn't know the way to it, even if it was right beside his room.
Once he poked his head through the vent and into Med-bay, he cautiously looked around before fully crawling out of the vent. Lime made sure not to touch any of the weird, brain scanning machinery Blue had and went over to his desk.
"And what are you doing in here?" A voice from behind him said, causing Lime to yelp out and turn around, pointing a needle and whoever was behind him. Blue came out from behind one of the curtains. "Now, now, calm down Lime, it's only me, Blue. But may I ask what you need? You said you hated this place." Blue asked, lowering the needle Lime had and taking it out on his hand.
"Uh, I- uh, I do! I don't need anything from you I was just.. Making sure you weren't doing test on me in secret!" Lime said, eyes darting to the vent every few seconds, trying to think of the best way to leave.
"Lime if your injured, you need to tell me. Our crew can't have you dying in the vents." Blue then put his hands on Limes shoulders, Lime almost bolting at the sudden touch. But he stayed. Blue then continued "Think about it. If you died in the vents, none of us can fit in there to go get your body. You'd rot, and we'd all have to deal with smelling a rotting corpse for the rest of the flight back to MIRA."
Lime grumbled, still not budging.
Blue sighed "The MIRA people would have to take apart the bottom of the ship. They'd find your little secret room, and drag your body out."
Lime then pushed Blue's hands off him and groaned "Fine! Whatever! But you better make this quick!"
Blue smiled and took Limes hand to walk him over to a bed "This way, please."
Lime almost short circuited at Blue just grabbing his hand but he quickly shook out of it, trying to say cautious. Blue could still try and run tests on him!
Once blue got lime laid down on a bed, he brought over a desk with a pillow on it and tools off to the side in a little organizer. Lime looked at all the tools suspiciously, before Blue started talking.
"Now, Tell me Lime, what happened? Why are you here today?" Blue said, sounding more like a therapist then a doctor..
"my Wrist got cut on some sharp metal in the vents, and it may have been rusty. then I splashed some holy water on it to clean it but it only seemed to get worse!" Lime grumbled, looking up to the ceiling.
"Were you sure this.. 'holy water' was clean?" Blue asked, Lime shrugged. "Alright then.. Lay down and Place your wrist on this pillow, please." Lime laid down but hesitated to put his wrist into the trust of Blue. Seeing all those different types of tools and needles freaked him out.. and that it was Blue he was trusting.
"I don't trust you.."
"Lime.. I need you to trust me.. this injury ain't gonna heal by itself at this point.."
Lime groaned and slowly stretched his arm out to the pillow, Blue letting him take his time. Once Lime's wrist was were it needed to be, Blue carefully unwrapped the Bandanna around Lime's wrist and looked at the wound. It had swollen up, and looked very infected and crusty.
".. Ok, that's.." Blue kind of just looked at it for a second. "I can fix this."
Blue wrapped the cleaned cut in a bandage, glad his work was finally done. It took almost an hour to clean it but Blue managed to do it. "alright, you're free to go, and please stop by every now and the-" Blue then looked up at Lime to see he was asleep. Blue sighed and smiled softly, shaking Lime to get him to wake up. Lime didn't even show any signs of waking up, which freaked Blue out enough to press two fingers onto Lime's neck to check his heartbeat. Of course Lime would still be alive, why wouldn't he?
Blue was just wondering why he felt scared at the thought of Lime dying.. Sure, he didn't what anyone on ship to die, but Lime seemed to have an affect on him.. Blue pushed that thought away, leaving Lime in that bed until he woke up.
