Chapter Text
Coy Piso had always envied Anthony Po after they broke up. He had everything he wanted, while Coy didn't. Anthony was one of the most popular football players in their school's team, because he was captain, obviously. Why wouldn't he be? He was funny, smart, pretty.. He was literally perfect. And Coy hated that. He hated every single bit of that.
So.. Why did he still want him?
That was something Coy asked Will while drunk one night.
Will sipped his third beer of the night, leaning back into the soft pillows of his bed. “It's probably just a love-hate relationship, Coy. You two just broke up, there's gonna be some leftover feelings. It's normal, trust me.” He was using his therapist tone again. The tone he used when he was biting back his actual response, instead giving the actual, better advice.
Coy exhaled, pinching the bridge of his nose. “I mean, I guess. I dunno, it's just.. He still looks at me like we're dating.” Will raised an eyebrow, inspecting Coy's expression carefully.
“I don't know, man. I think your mind's playin' tricks on you.” Will stated, crushing his beer can. Coy glanced at the band posters covering Will's walls, exhaling through his nose. “Yeah, probably.”
Coy hummed as he walked up to his locker, punching in the combination with practiced ease. Swinging it open, a paper fell to his feet.
Picking it up, it seemed to be a card of some kind. He opened it up, reading the contents inside.
“..Huh.” A party invite. And it seemed to be one of the biggest parties that year. Pool, alcohol, and food. It was being hosted at.. Connor's house. A foul taste filled his mouth. Connor was one of Anthony's best friends. Why did everything tie back to him? Then, he read the tiny text at the bottom.
‘ANTHONY WILL NOT BE COMING.’
Huh.. Might as well go. He had nothing to do for the weekend.
