Work Text:
Ivan wondered if there was any other Snegovik Fae who was as peerless as his mother was.
From His words, however, there probably wasn't anyone who came close to it. And he would agree, no one could be as beautiful as how his mother was.
Maybe it wasn't just for Snegovik Fae either, maybe it was for all of Faekind?
Yeah, Ivan thought as much. No one could ever compare!
And there were many other beautiful things in Teyvat. Such as the mountains that stand far ahead, and also how green the grass was in the field.
Another was of the flora here. There were many kinds of flowers which he's seen so far, but never did he see something which looked so much like his mother, just if she was a flower.
And that's exactly why he was running to get that flower.
Flowers can't fly, but that didn't mean the wind wouldn't force it to do so, and Ivan didn't want to lose that flower. He wanted to give it to his mother!
After all, his mother only deserved the most beautiful of all flowers.
He bent down and squatted on the ground to see the flower better, and saw its beauty up close. It really was so much as he expected, like his mother.
A bloom with blue and yellow petals, it felt cold to the touch yet it glowed with a sort of warmth Ivan couldn't explain.
It looked so beautiful. Maybe he needs more words to choose, but that one described everything about what he thought perfectly.
And so, Ivan picked it, and pushed the flower into his clothes slowly, as to not ruin it. After he was sure it was intact, he ran back to where his mother was.
She was looking far to her right side, for some reason, and only when she heard Ivan approach did she turn her head to him. He pushed himself upwards and sat in between. The silence was comforting, and he looked at his legs as it swung from front to back.
"Vanechka," Mother's eyes softened, as she watched Ivan shift beside her. "Why have you gone off in such a hurry?"
"Oh, I wanted to, um," Ivan looked rather flustered at the question. "Chase the butterflies."
Mother looked at him with an indecipherable gaze, before she chuckled and didn't answer. She looked into the land in front of them instead.
Ivan took the chance to take out the flower from his clothes, and to hold it out to his right side, for no particular reason.
The young boy watched his mother intently, eyes open wide as he stared at the flower on his hand, before he called out to her name, the flower held out to her direction. "Mother?"
As her gaze shifted to him, Ivan smiled when she noticed the flower. It reminded him so much of his mother. He got off the bench to give her a better look at how the flower looked.
He could see in her eyes how much she liked it, as she then placed her hand on his head.
"For me?" Her other hand reached out for the flower, as Ivan gave it to her. "Why so?"
Ivan went with a simple reply. "It's beautiful, like you."
Mother smiled at the compliment, and spoke, "You are part of my heart, you understand, Vanechka?" Ivan blinked at those words, and she gave the flower to him.
Ivan took that as a sign to reach up to Mother's head, and to place the flower between her ear and hair. Satisfied with how it looks on her, he hopped back beside her and nodded.
He leaned his head in to her side, and Ivan could hear someone laugh lightly at a distance.
