Maybe it was the thrill of sparring with you, or maybe it was the excitement I felt when we could potentially get caught seeing each other, knowing we aren’t meant to be friendly.
It could be the amusement I get seeing you pinned down beneath my sword, helpless and restrained. Being so close to finishing you off–taking you away.
Or maybe not.
What if it’s that stupid grin, your crooked nose, face littered with freckles. Maybe your attitude, your reactions, or the way you match my abilities.
So what if the close call from your blades gets me excited? The slight burn I get when you snag me, that feels incredibly good.
The way you hate me, like I hate you.
My small heart that had been confined by piercing fragments of ice, slowly started to thaw the more I was with you.
I hadn’t realized that it was you who melted the ice around my heart. As the ice became a puddle, for once I saw my eternity.
