Work Text:

The violence, the chaos, the war. Robloxians, they aren't made for such extreme brutality, no one is. But here in the battlefield is where Guest 1337 fights, he just has to repeat the same motions, keep his guard up, and be ready for anything. He needed to survive this, to save Robloxia, to protect his family and-

"Guest!"

That voice.

The soldier immediately froze, his eyes widen.

"...D-Daisy? CHARLOTTE!?"

He looked over his shoulder, and there they were, hid behind one of the barricades. His wife was hugging their daughter protectively, as she's covering her ears.

"Mom, what's going on? Im scared!"

"J-Just stay close, okay? Your dad will protect us!"

No, no, no... they aren't supposed to be here. How did they get here?? He needs to think, fast. But he just can't run straight to them with nothing to protect him.

...!

Suddenly, a small object was thrown into their hiding place.

It can't be-

"LOOK OUT!"

A bright light flashed into his eyes, and it all went dark...

...

"Guest... Guest?!" A hand shook his shoulder, as his eyes completely shot open, gasping for air.

He woke up in a cold sweat while he tries to get his bearings. His eyes try to focus on what's in front of him. Curly yellow hair, red t-shirt, and a glass of water offered to him.

"Umm... drink up, alright? You must've had a nightmare..."

With trembling hands he grabs the cup, trying not the spill as his shoulder shook and his chest ached. Though it did help out with his sore throat. He sets the glass aside, now with the soldier feeling a bit at ease.

"Eh.. Elly..." The soldier's arms wrapped around him, nuzzling into his neck. "Shh... shh... It's gonna be alright, I'm right here with you, buddy." The caregiver reassures, gently running his hands through his hair.

"Wahh!!" The war veteran wailed louder, reminded of his terrible dream. "D-Don... l-leave...!" Elliot continues to comfort him, "I'm not going anywhere, Guest. I promise you."

Elliot grabs a few tissues to wipe off his sweat, "we might have to get a new set of clothes for you, sweetie." He puts the tissues aside, his eyes then lit up as an idea popped up in his head.

"Hmmm how about we take a bubble bath?"

"R... really?"

"Yes! It can help you calm down and relax, and we can play together too!"

"Ouh-kay!"

Elliot takes Guest to the bathroom, letting him choose whatever bath toy he wants while he waits for Elliot to prepare the bath. He plugs the drain and turns on the faucet as he watches the tub slowly fills up with water.

The little looks at the selection of toys, and grabbing a rubber ducky, a toy sailboat, and a wind-up fish toy. "Wowie..."

"Looks like the bath is ready, lemme help ya, kiddo!" The caretaker then sets the toys beside the bathtub to help him take off his clothes.

He slipped into the tub and Elliot poured the soup in. "Alright, buddy! Let's give it a shake so we can get lots and lot of bubbles!!"

The two shook the water, careful not to do it too hard so it wouldn't splash everywhere. And soon enough, bubbles started to form, followed by Guest's happy squeals.

He looks at the toys in the water, his imagination coming to play. The toy sailboat bravely paves its way across the bubble mountains, the wind-up fish swimming happily whime being covered in bubbles, while the rubber duck seems to be caught by the waves, choosing to let go to wherever the currents take it.

"Whoaa, that's a lot of bubbles we got here!" The regressor snickers, grabbing a scoop of bubbles and putting it on his head. "Hehe, is that a bubble hat you got there, hm?"

After awhile, probably 30 minutes, Elliot think it's time for Guest to get out of the tub-

Guest furrows his brows. "Nuh-uh, I-I- still wanna play!"

"Well... your hands are already wrinkly..." Guest gave a small gasp, looking at his fingers.

"But- pweeaase c-can I st-stay longer...?" The little showed him his best puppy dog eyes, frowning with quivering lips (to hide the fact he was already shivering). Elliot sighs, "Hmm, how about this, I'll let you choose which pajamas you can wear and we can snuggle in bed all cozy and warm! Doesn't that sound fun?"

"Umm... ummm!" And yeah the cold was getting to him. "O-okay, Elly..."

Elliot finally pulls the plug, watching as the water slowly descends and empties the tub. He helps the little out, wrapping him in a fluffy towel and dries his hair with the hair dryer.

Elliot then leads Guest to the bedroom, opening the wardrobe to reveal a selection of pajamas, Guest chooses the one with the cute cat prints. They both crawled onto bed, all tucked in but...

"Elly...?"

"Yeah? What's up?"

"Sc-scared of... nightmare again..." Guest murmurs, pulling up the blanket to cover his face.

"Hey, it's okay to feel scared, the nightmare's over now. And... y'know what? I think I have something that can help you."

Elliot walks up the wardrobe and rummages around to finally pull out a knightly looking dog plushie. "This right here is Goldie The Brave! I would give him a biiig cuddle whenever I feel scared or lonely, and I'd feel a lot better."

Elliot gives him the plushie, as if the plushie was talking to him. "Bark! Bark! Elliot's right, I give the best hugs ever!" Earning a little chuckle from the regressor. And with that, they're ready to sleep.

"Sweet dreams, little one."
