Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Notes:

Haiiii everyone !!!!! this is my first ever bnd fanfic so i hope everyone will get to enjoy reading it ^^ However, I hope you don’t mind my grammar mistakes (if there are any) because english isn’t my native language. And to clarify, the first few chapters (1-3? maybe?) will focus only on the things happening throughout the boys’ life up until their present time, which takes place during college/university. So, please don’t be confused as to why the story doesn’t seem to match with the present T^T because as I said, first few chapters are only about previous events, meaning that the main story hadn’t started yet, please bare that in mind !! Anyways, I hope you enjoy this fanfic that I made and have a great day/afternoon/evening/night while and after reading this !!! \(^v^)/

Chapter Text

{   It was a sunny day in the middle of June. Han Taesan was in a park, sitting under a tree while playing a song with his favourite bass guitar.

Throughout his childhood, there were barely any kids that wanted to play with him because they thought that the black haired boy was a weird kid that sat all alone by himself without ever socialising.

But he never really cared, after all, other kids avoiding him meant that he can have his quiet space all to himself without anyone bothering him.

However, the peaceful atmosphere never lasted long.

Because suddenly, a young boy with fluffy brown hair and bright, sparkly, eyes entered his field of vision and whined, “Hey! Taesan! What are you doing here? I’ve been looking for you everywhere!”

The boy was no other than Taesan’s childhood arch nemesis, Kim Woonhak, who likes to bother him almost everywhere he goes. Their mothers got along really well with each other after Woonhak’s family first moved into this neighbourhood.

But the two children never got along with each other like how their parents did.

They always fought and clashed with each other because of their completely opposite personalities and ideals. Taesan has always been a really introverted, independent kid who prefers his quiet space all to himself. Meanwhile, Woonhak was an extroverted kid who loves being around others. He loved getting attention, praises and especially bothering Taesan.

These two compete over practically anything. Grades, looks, praises from their teachers, and the amount of times they get in trouble then gets scolded by their mothers (usually it was Taesan who won, because he was the ultimate troublemaker).

But even though they kept on arguing, fighting, and competing against each other, they will always stick together during times of difficulties, no matter what.

To Taesan, Woonhak was his worst enemy and his best friend. And to Woonhak, Taesan was also his worst enemy and his best friend.

Although the two would never admit it, they’re still deeply in denial about how they feel for each other.

Annoyance written on his face, Taesan placed his bass guitar inside its  case and asked, “Woonhak, I seriously can’t have my own peace and quiet without you bothering me. What the hell do you want?”

The fifteen year old Woonhak placed his arms on his hip, imitating an angry mother who is about to scold her child.

“Dude! You literally challenged me to a basketball match last night, because YOU claimed that you’re better than me at a sport I barely see you play.” He shouted at Taesan, who simply rolled his eyes at the younger boy’s words.

The whole park went silent, and suddenly everyone was looking at those two.

It has always been this way, the once peaceful and calm atmosphere of the park will always be disrupted by the loud buzzing of the social butterfly, Kim Woonhak, who always came to annoy the heck out of the loner named Han Taesan.

Seeing this, Taesan sighed, took his bass guitar and got up to drag Woonhak out of the park by the collar of his shirt.

Now that they’re out of the park, Taesan finally snapped, “Look, Woonhak.”

His expression completely indifferent to whatever is happening, looked at the boy. “Whatever I said last night was merely a joke to get you off my hook, so now, just leave me the hell alone and stop causing a ruckus in the park.”

Woonhak glared, clearly irritated by the latter’s words, said, “Are you fucking joking right now?” He snarled.

“First of all, you said that you’d go to play because Jaehyun hyung is going too. Second of all, why back out now when you obviously stated that you can easily beat me without trying? Why back out now huh? Or what? Taesan, don’t tell me you’re scared of losing? After boasting all about your skills, don’t tell me you were just over exaggerating it? Come on —be honest about your intentions, dude.” Woonhak taunted.

Normally, to Taesan, these situations are just child’s play for him, it’s usually very easy for him to be completely unprovoked by anyone. He always dealt with these type of situation in a calm and precise manner.

But whenever he’s with Woonhak, his heart suddenly burns with a passion to compete, to prove him wrong.

To others, the younger’s words are nothing but mere provocation, but to Taesan, it’s a challenge, and he really hates losing to a younger guy like Woonhak. So he gladly accepts it.

“Fuck you. Who said I was scared of losing, huh? Nobody said that except you and your scrawny ass. Bring it on, kid. Let’s see who’s better at basketball. You don’t wanna mess up in front of your Jaehyun hyung, don’t you?”

And that was the final straw.

Because right after Taesan said that, the two rushed to the basketball court near the area and played dozens of rounds against each other, with Jaehyun being in Taesan’s team and Woonhak with his fellow teammates.

The game lasted a while with Woonhak and Taesan arguing back and forth.

Until Jaehyun suddenly yelled, “Halt!” And continued on by saying that he is extremely exhausted and apparently needs to be escorted home by Taesan.

Everyone agreed with no complaints because it was currently very dark and they all needed to rest for school tomorrow.

Until the next day, Taesan and Jaehyun was seen walking to school together while holding hands.

They practically announced to the whole school that they are now dating and from then on, wherever Taesan went, it was no longer Woonhak but became Jaehyun instead.

Nobody really seemed to have an issue with that, because Woonhak and Taesan will always be seen bickering back and forth every time of the day.

So, nothing really changed between the two childhood enemies because they are still inseparable, just like the way they were before.  }

                           ———————- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ———————

{   It’s a new school year, and for some reason, Woonhak and Taesan haven’t interacted since the start of spring break.

He thought, ‘maybe Taesan just wants more alone time with Jaehyun hyung’ and just left it at that.

He thought that once the school year starts, the two would talk (fight) with each other again like usual, hang out together again like usual and just do the same silly competitions with each other.

Woonhak has always been a really positive kid, so he can’t help but hope and believe that after finding a lover, Taesan would still come back to him.

After all, they’ve been inseparable ever since Woonhak declared at the top of his lungs to the whole playground that Taesan will be his lifelong enemy forever.

So whenever they had a big argument, they’d just brush it off and start running back to each other again.

Their relationship has always been that way.

It’s a process of fighting, brushing it off, and getting back together.

Whenever Taesan would steal Woonhak’s toy, they would attack each other until bruises were all over their body and not talk for the rest of the day. Then, like always, Woonhak would suddenly challenge Taesan to a video game duel and the night ends up with them falling asleep on the ground, next to each other.

So really, he was completely puzzled after seeing how avoidant Taesan had been since the school year started.

He felt so confused and a tad bit concerned.

But one thing he was sure of, was that he didn’t like a single thing about Taesan’s new behaviour.

Which brought him in front of the older’s house in the middle of the night.

He knocked on the door, not too loud, but enough for Taesan’s mom to rush down the stairs and open the door for him.

She wasn’t that surprised to see her neighbour’s son on her doorstep, just a little concerned as to why he is there at midnight.

“Woonhak?” She smiled warmly, “what do you need to be here this late at night, dear?”

He rubbed the back of his neck shyly, and said, “Sorry to disturb you Mrs.Han, I was just wondering where Taesan is. Is he in his room right now?”

There was no need for Woonhak to ask if he could enter the house, because the older woman already rushed him inside before he said anything.

“Taesan-ah? I was just wondering the same too. He said he was feeling a bit stressed from school today, so he needed some fresh air before going to sleep. But I’m feeling quite restless about him staying out this late, so can you go and find him for me, dear?” She said with a face full of concern.

It was obvious that Taesan’s mom knows that there’s something going on between Woonhak with her son because they haven’t talked in a while.

Meaning that her words clearly implies that she just wanted the boys to talk it out.

Woonhak simply replied with a nod and a reassuring smile as he head for the door. His face unreadable, but his intentions were obvious due to his quickened pace after stepping out of the house.

He was determined to find out what was going on with his lifelong arch nemesis.

It didn’t take Woonhak that long to find Taesan because he knew where the older boy would go whenever he’s troubled. Because Taesan was in the park that he usually frequents to get his mind off things.

It was the same park that Woonhak always sees him at, just playing with his favorite bass guitar, in his own small little comfy bubble.

Taesan snapped his head so quickly the moment he felt that there was another presence in the park.

When he noticed who it was, he simply turned his head away and didn’t say anything after that.

‘He’s clearly avoiding me.’ Woonhak grits his teeth as he thought to himself.

He was upset as hell.

When Woonhak finally examined the older boy properly, his breath suddenly stops.

He noticed the latter’s tired eyes, his tear burn, his skinny figure and how pale the boy was.

He felt an unrecognisable feeling spreading throughout his whole body. After seeing Taesan like this, it felt like he can no longer go back to the way he was.

So, slowly, he approached the older boy, kind of like he was trying not to alert a vulnerable beast.

Until he was a bit closer to the boy, that he finally said something.

“Taesan…” he breathes.

The boy flinched after hearing his name being called.

Silence.

Taesan didn’t reply, nor look at Woonhak.

So he tried again.

“Taesan…” This time, with a more pleading tone.

But the boy didn’t budge, still stubborn. So Woonhak had no choice but to use a bit of force.

He pulled Taesan to face him with all his strength and said, “What is up with you nowadays?!”

He probably looked so frustrated right now, but it didn’t matter right now because Taesan finally looked at him with wide eyes, clearly startled, but not that shocked.

Taesan stared at Woonhak for awhile, and with a sigh he finally looked away.

“It’s none of your business.” He muttered under his breath.

A pause.

“What?” The younger boy exclaimed.

“I said, it’s none of your business.” He said, with the sharpest tone ever.

Woonhak was left speechless because of his tone, and even more upset with his reply. He couldn’t understand why Taesan was being so cold to him. He has ignored him multiple times but he’s never been this cold with him. He also couldn’t understand why he’s so bothered by it.

He can’t accept this.

So he took a deep breath and in a fit of frustration, he yelled at Taesan.

“It’s none of MY business? Are you fucking joking? You think that just by saying that, I can just brush off the fact that you’ve been avoiding me for god knows for what reason?”

He feels his heart beating profusely against his chest as he lets out his frustration that’s eating him away. He just couldn’t deal with this amount of anger and confusion. He hates having his questions left unanswered. And he’s extremely upset with Taesan for leaving him in the dark like that. It makes him feel worthless, and useless for the older boy.

He hates to admit it, but he deeply cares about the latter.

Whenever Taesan doesn’t go to school for a day, Woonhak would head straight to the older boy’s house just to see if he’s ok or not, even if the latter already sent a text saying he’s fine.

He hates how he keeps staying up all night thinking that instead of just laying on his bed like this, he could be playing games with him.

He hates that he misses the snarky remarks from Taesan whenever he beats Woonhak in a game.

He hates the fact that he misses the older boy’s laugh whenever he finds something utterly stupid.

He hates the fact that he misses Taesan light smacks whenever he says an unfunny joke.

And he absolutely DESPISE the fact that he misses Taesan so badly, that it does things to him.

He’s so frustrated from having to bottle up these feelings that he can’t name. And it upsets him so much that Taesan can’t see how much he cares. How much Taesan matters to him.

He’s so upset that he doesn’t notice the tears falling from his eyes. He shook Taesan’s shoulders and continued.

“You don’t know how long I was waiting just for you to come back and talk to me again. You don’t know how hard it was for me to tell myself that it was fine, that you’re gonna tell me about what happened once we meet in school again. You don’t know how frustrating it was for me to see you so oddly avoidant, out of touch and isolated from everyone. You don’t know how much it pained me to see you so fucking depressed everyday. You don’t know ANY of these, that’s why you said it’s none of my business.”

Taesan looked at him again, properly this time.

His face was unreadable. But his slightly trembling hands showed that he was struggling to take in all of this information.

Woonhak finally let out his last burst of anger and said with a calm voice, signalling the end of his fit of rage.

“You don’t know how nonexistent I felt whenever I see you. I felt stupid for believing that you’d come back when you clearly hate me now. But I’m still foolish enough to come here to try and talk it out with you. Foolish enough to hold onto a sliver of hope that you will finally open up to me, or at least be willing. But, I guess that was all just in my head.”

The last part only came out as a whisper.

He doesn’t care if he sounded disappointed or heartbroken, he just wanted to let Taesan know all of the stuff he’s been keeping for far too long.

But then unexpectedly, he felt arms wrapped around him. He was so shocked that he lost his balance and fell on the grass with the older boy still on him.

Then Taesan randomly ruffled the younger boy’s hair, leaving the boy froze in disbelief.

Startled by the latter’s actions, Woonhak instinctively grabbed the older’s wrist, successfully yanking his hand out of his hair.

He was so upset with Taesan! Why would the boy suddenly touch him out of nowhere? Woonhak was so confused and became even more frustrated.

His face was puffy from crying too hard, his eyes were swollen just like Taesan’s, and he was pouting as he tried to hold back any more tears from coming out.

He released the older’s wrist, not making any eye contact with the boy. Until he felt a hand grabbing his jaw so tight, his breath quickened. Taesan grabbed his jaw so that he could face the younger boy properly.

Taesan muttered something that Woonhak couldn’t hear and heard an exhale from the older boy.

Then he looked at Woonhak with a wary expression, and called his name, “Woonhak…” the mentioned boy was still avoiding the latter’s gaze until Taesan brought both of his hands and put it on both sides of the younger’s cheek.

Woonhak,” he said, a bit louder this time.

“Look at me.”

It wasn’t a demand, it was a request.

His pleading tone made something stir in Woonhak’s stomach. He wasn’t sure what that something was, but he doesn’t want to question it any further.

He finally looked into the older’s eyes, and he saw the emotions hidden in the latter’s eyes —it showed, sadness? anxiousness? relief?

He doesn’t know. He’ll never know.

Because Taesan suddenly said something.

“I’m sorry.” Wait, what?

This wasn’t what he wanted as an answer. But he still felt much lighter after hearing it.

The apology was quiet, short and simple, and it felt enough for him.

The park was silent for a moment, probably to give the boys some time to accept their current situation. Woonhak heard the older boy sigh.

Then Taesan started, “I…broke up with Jaehyun.”

Silence.

He probably knew that Woonhak wasn’t going to say anything about that, so he continued, “We had a fight, a bad one. I, I was too stupid to know that he was dealing with some depressed shit, so I lashed out at him.”

Silence. Again.

Taesan’s breathing became uneven. Woonhak felt something like concern, blooming in his chest.

He wasn’t sure why the older boy is opening up to him now, it was such an unexpected thing.

But he still wants to listen. To hear his struggles, to hear his thoughts, his feelings, his insecurities.

Although he hates to admit it, he just couldn’t help it.

He cared for Taesan a lot.

And he now learns to accept it.

The older boy continued with a shaky breath.

“He said that he’s been suffering from depression for awhile now. After his parents went bankrupt, he’s been working in secret, even before summer break. His attendance went down, same with his grades. He’s been getting scolded by his mom every time he came home. And with my nonstop complaints because we haven’t been together for so long. He started to avoid me. He went to hang out with someone else in his grade, and I saw it. I saw it, Woonhak.”

Woonhak was startled after hearing his name.

He was shocked by seeing Taesan’s face so pale, so hurt and utterly pitiful.

He looks broken.

And before he knew it, he brought his hands to Taesan’s face.

But unfortunately, the older boy quickly moved away from his hand, leaving his hand mid air.

“I saw how he looked when he was with that person. He looked so happy, so free, and so…peaceful.”

He lets out a small breath, almost a laugh.

He was smiling, but his glossy eyes showed how pained he was.

His lips was red and swollen from the force of his teeth biting on it.

“He could’ve never been that happy if he stayed with me. I ruined him. I ruined him, Woonhak. It’s all MY fault. I wasn’t patient enough. I wasn’t loving enough. I wasn’t caring enough. I wasn’t the perfect boyfriend he needed. That person was more attentive than me, they were more kinder, more loving and they were a better person in general. But despite all of that, I still loved him. And I still want him back.”

Woonhak was stunned.

He could’ve swore that his heart almost leapt out of his chest.

Because right now, Taesan was…crying.

Streams of tears fell out of his eyes continuously, down his cheeks, as he sobbed in his own hands, leg hunched over his chest.

Woonhak could’ve just stayed where he was sitting and give Taesan the space he deserved.

But he couldn’t control the urge to comfort the older boy, the urge to hold him in his arms and tell him that it’s all ok, that Jaehyun doesn’t hate him, that he will never hate him, that it was never his fault.

So here he was, hugging his arch nemesis.

The boy who is supposed to be his lifelong enemy.

The boy who he swore he hated so much.

The same boy who always got on his nerves, despite him doing absolutely nothing.

That same boy is now breaking apart in his arms, sobbing as he lets out all of those bottled emotions.

That once confident, smug, and brave little kid who he once hated, became a fragile and vulnerable boy who he now learned to care for.

When the sobs finally died down, Woonhak sighed.

He looked at Taesan.

The boy was currently lying on his chest. They were both sitting on the grass, arms wrapped around one another.

It took a few long seconds for Woonhak to finally muster up the courage to say something.

“Taesan…” he whispered.

Taesan merely shuffled in his arms. Hugged him even tighter and only replied with a sniffle.

Woonhak chuckled a little at the elder’s clingy attitude. But it only came out as a small breath of air against the ending winter cold air.

He started, “how are you feeling?”

He cringed at his slightly caring tone.

He didn’t know what he was supposed to do in this situation.

He wants to comfort the older boy, but he was afraid of crossing the boundary between enemies. The boundary that the two have sworn to never cross.

But before he could think any further.

His thoughts was abruptly stopped by a quiet giggle coming from the boy in his arms.

‘What was so hilarious about this?’ Woonhak thought.

He was only trying to see if Taesan was feeling any better after crying for that long.

Taesan finally lifted his head from the younger’s chest, and looked straight in his eyes.

“I’m sorry…” he said.

Woonhak opened his mouth to speak.

But before he got to reply, Taesan cuts him off by continuing.

“I’m sorry for avoiding you. I never wanted to. But I just felt like I had to. I didn’t want to burden you about ANY of these things. And I just don’t want to ruin whatever we have with my stupid problems. You’re only meant to be my enemy, my rival, my childhood arch nemesis, not some fucking therapist that’s obligated to listen to all my struggles and worries.”

He looked like he wanted to cry again. But this time he was able to hold it in. As if refusing to show how much of an effect that the brown haired boy has on him.

“I hate to admit it, but I care for you, Woonhak. You have your own life. Your own freedom. Your own rights to step away from things you don’t want to do. And I don’t want that to change, especially with the way our relationship is.”

He paused for a bit, before he started rambling .

“But I guess I thought wrong. I never knew how hurt you were by my actions. I never knew about anything that you dealt with because I was too stuck in my own head. And now that you had finally came to confront me about it, I don’t know what to do. I think I’ve ruined our relationship too. I don’t think we can go back to being enemies or rivals anymore. You probably won’t even need me anymore in the future. Whatever you were feeling it was only just fleeting concern for me because you won’t have anyone to argue with anymore. So let’s just leave it at that, ok? Let’s just forget about each other and move on with our lives. Because I know that we can’t go back to the way we were anymore.”

He said that last part with a small smile and an unreadable expression.

But his eyes darted everywhere, betraying his current calm demeanour.

He was nervous, but he tried his best to hide it away from Woonhak.

And Woonhak? Oh, he was absolutely shocked with disbelief.

He was super mad, he was so fucking angry at the latter’s words that he snapped and yell at him again.

“Are you stupid, Taesan?”

The mentioned boy was flabbergasted because of the insult. His eyes was so wide you can tell that he was so surprised.

But Woonhak couldn’t bother to react to the older’s shocked face.

He continued, “Are you fucking serious, right now? How can you say that? Are you really that oblivious about our current predicament right now? Taesan, tell me!”

The sudden shout seemed to have shaken the older’s composure. He can tell that Woonhak was clearly pissed.

He was absolutely right about that, Woonhak was pissed.

He’s so pissed, that he would actually do something totally unexpected.

He doesn’t know what he’s going to do, but he just wants to make Taesan realise that stepping away from their problems isn’t going to solve it.

So he’s going to try.

He’s going to try and show Taesan how wrong he is. He’s going to prove to him. To prove that today, they will step out of this park, the same park that they were declared as enemies, and walk out as something else, more than just enemies.

Maybe as friends? Or best friends? Or sworn brothers?

He doesn’t care.

He just knows that if he doesn’t take any action right now, he’s going to lose his chance and regret it forever.

“Taesan, look me in the eyes right now.”

He wasn’t asking, he was commanding him. And Taesan obeyed that command.

Woonhak finally saw Taesan’s expression. And it was obvious, that whatever kind of stuff he spouted, he didn’t mean it.

His face did remain calm for a bit, but his eyes failed to hide any of his real feelings.

It had a sense of hope, as if it was telling Woonhak to not go, to stay here with him. And Woonhak was determined to show him that he is never going anywhere, never leaving the latter’s side.

“I’m sorry for shouting at you, but I just wanted you to know. You’re not a burden. You’ve never been a burden to me. You matter so much to me that it hurts. You really think that just because of one fight like this can mean that I’d no longer care? You think I can easily move on after we separate forever? You’re really still the same selfish prick who only thinks about himself and never care about other’s feelings.” He said with a bitter expression.

“So what if I’m a selfish prick who only thinks about himself? I can’t fucking help it. I’m sorry I couldn’t notice how much you care about me. But it’s all useless because I don’t need all that concern. I’m only your enemy, your rival, so why keep trying to convince someone so selfish and arrogant like me to stay?” Taesan snapped back.

The older boy was practically on the verge of tears, but he still tried to remain his composure.

“I don’t want to be your enemy!” Woonhak proclaimed angrily.

The older boy looked at him in disbelief.

“When you were avoiding me, I couldn’t help but always worry. Whenever you get sick, I would run to your house not because I was bored and needed someone to argue and fight with. But because I actually got concerned and restless. I wanted to be next to you when you were in your most vulnerable state. Don’t you know what that meant?”

A pause.

Taesan remained quiet.

So, Woonhak took this as a cue to continue. “I no longer want to be enemies with you anymore. Because I know that no matter how hard I try to hate you, to ignore these nagging concern for you, I can’t help but let those worries win over me. So I want to try, I want to try and be something more than just an enemy to you. I would respect you if you want to leave and separate from me because you genuinely hate me. But if you’re only leaving just because we’re supposed to be “enemies”, I’ll keep trying to make you sway, and let go of all those constraints that’s keeping you from doing what you truly want. I’ll wait for as long as I can so you would choose to stay with me. So please, if you would just let me care for you and be by your side forever as someone who’s no longer your enemy, I’d be incredibly happy.”

There was only silence.

Until Taesan broke it and said quietly with an unsure expression, “Why me? Are you sure you won’t regret it?”

“Why would I regret it? Once I set my mind onto something, I’ll never go back on my words. I’ll never regret it. Especially this decision.” Woonhak assured the latter.

Taesan scoffed, “So passionate all of a sudden. I wonder if that passion is going to be everlasting. I don’t know if you can handle me for that long, though.”

He rolled his eyes, and replied with the sassiest tone ever. “Well, I’ve been dealing with your annoying ass since childhood now, so there’s literally no need to for you to worry any further.” He grinned.

And it made Taesan laugh so loud, that he couldn’t help but laugh too.

He felt all his worries washed down the drain after seeing Taesan laugh so brightly. He couldn’t care less if the neighbours heard both of them and they would get in trouble later.

Because this moment was special.

It was a new starting point for the next chapter of their life.

Woonhak glanced at Taesan.

The elder’s expression was lighter than before. He seemed relieved after hearing the younger’s sincere and reassuring words.

Woonhak cleared his throat, “Soooo I’ll take that answer as a yes?” He looked at Taesan with a smirk and a soft gaze.

Taesan chuckled and nodded his head fondly while pinching Woonhak’s arm playfully.

At that moment, Woonhak suddenly tackled the older boy, causing the elder to almost jump. He started tickling his sides and poking his waist and it left Taesan completely out of breath after laughing so hard.

Woonhak was so happy that he was about to run straight to his house to bury his face and scream into his pillows.

Taesan was feeling better.

It was such a sudden shift from the earlier atmosphere. But he was delighted after seeing the older boy’s earlier tense expression disappearing, and replaced with a soft smile that was filled with fondness that Woonhak couldn’t familiarise with.

He didn’t mind, though.

Taesan was happy, and it was all that matters.  }

                         ———————- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ———————

{   The next day, the two went to school together.

Last night, the two had walked to Taesan’s home so his mom wouldn’t worry any longer. Before Woonhak could leave, Taesan unexpectedly grabbed his wrist and muttered a quiet “good night” to him then lets the younger’s hands go right away before closing the door on him.

Leaving Woonhak to walk home feeling speechless and super happy as he skipped and whistled along the way.

In the morning, Woonhak woke up to the sound of his mom chatting with a certain black haired boy, who apparently came to bring him to school.

Once arriving to school, they each went to their own classrooms and the day went on with no issues whatsoever.

They ate lunch together, chatting about school and random things. However, they didn’t talk about the events that occurred last night. Because it was obvious that many things had already started to change from then on.

Taesan also started to connect with people around him more, and it made Woonhak incredibly satisfied.

They also made up with Jaehyun. It took a lot of convincing from Ohyul, Woonhak’s trusted best friend and Jaehyun’s friend, for the two to finally talk it out with Jaehyun.

At first, Jaehyun only acted buddy buddy with Woonhak, saying stuff like,“Oh damn, only a summer went by and look at you. Woonbaby got so tall, I feel inferior next to you.” He pouted playfully.

His laughter echoed throughout the entire hallway. He was known to be a pretty loud dude, so it wasn’t a surprise for anyone in the school.

But he was cut off by Woonhak calling him.

“Hyung.” He said with a deadpan face.

“Taesan needs to say something to you.”

Silence.

He slowly turned his head to Taesan and asked,

“Taesan?” he asked with a concerned and confused look.

“Hey, hyung.” He replied calmly.

“Can we go somewhere a little more quieter?”

And Woonhak found himself waiting outside of an empty third year classroom.

A few moments passed by until he heard the chattering inside the room suddenly stopped.

Once he heard the sound of the doorknob turning, he snapped his head to the door so quickly he could’ve swore he twisted his neck.

The two older boys left the room with sniffles and Jaehyun patting the black haired’s back as he tried his best to not burst into tears again.

It was clear that the two had finally talked it out and resolved their situation, because they became more talkative with each other again and it brought the biggest smile on Woonhak’s face that his cheeks started hurting.

He hoped that their friendship would be everlasting and will never end.

And he hopes that his bond with Taesan, will continue to grow stronger each and everyday. For the two to never be separated from one another or to leave each other at all.  }
