Chapter Text
Pierrot
- He's always secretly following you around. Even if you're just walking to a small convenience store five minutes away from your house, Pierrot will still trail after you.
- -He just wants to make sure you're safe.
- He's like a golden retriever following its owner everywhere. If he isn't secretly watching over you, then he'll simply walk beside you wherever you go. Honestly, he'd much rather pick you up and carry you to wherever you want to go, but you insist that you're perfectly capable of walking on your own.
- Pierrot isn't exactly known for his patience, but he'll gladly slow down to match your pace. Even if you walk painfully slowly, he won't really complain.
- You'll probably feel like you have a personal bodyguard following you around all the time.
- He always makes time to come see you. However, if you're working, he'll stay at a distance and quietly watch over you so he doesn't disturb you.
- Now imagine if you're especially clumsy—that would only make Pierrot worry about you even more. He'd rather carry you around than watch you trip over your own feet and fall.
- But if you do fall, don't worry. Pierrot would gladly throw himself underneath you to keep you from getting hurt. Though afterward, don't be surprised if he refuses to let go of you, keeping you wrapped in his arms—or simply carrying you instead.
- You're incredibly fragile in his eyes! Even a tiny ant bite can leave you covered in itchy rashes! So why wouldn't a fall be enough to crack your head open?
Harlequin
- This idiot just wants to get on your nerves.
- He has absolutely no sense of personal space and loves making his presence known just to annoy you. He'll circle around you constantly, poking and pestering you whenever he gets the chance.
- He's like a fly—you can shoo him away all you want, but he never leaves. The only difference is that he's even more annoying.
- Even if Harlequin is in the middle of working, the moment he spots you, he'll ditch everything to come bother you. Handing out flyers? Oh, there you are! Forget the flyers—they can hand themselves out! Annoying you is way more fun.
- He hates it when you ignore him. If you brush him off and try to walk away faster, you can bet he'll become even more relentless just to get a reaction out of you.
- He's like a cat. He acts as if he doesn't want attention... but he absolutely does.
- He's surprisingly patient. He can follow you around all day even if you refuse to acknowledge him. As long as he gets some kind of reaction—even if it's you jumping in surprise or getting angry—he'll feel like he's won a prize.
- If you're clumsy, you can bet he'll have the time of his life watching you trip over your own feet and fall flat on the ground.
- He might catch you by grabbing the back of your shirt. But before you've even had a chance to breathe, he'll pretend to let go, making you scream—only to catch you again just before you hit the ground.
- You're mad at him? Then yell at him. Go ahead and hit him if you want. He won't feel guilty in the slightest.
- But if you laugh instead...? He'll freeze for a moment. Why are you laughing? You're supposed to be angry. Your reaction is completely unexpected.
- ...And somehow, that leaves quite an impression on him.
Jester
- As far as he's concerned, leaving his tent without a good reason is completely pointless.
- Following you, however, is a different story.
- You'll never really know why he does it.
- Like Harlequin, he's very much like a cat—unpredictable. Sometimes, if you pay more attention to Pierrot than to him, he might get a little irritated. Of course, he'd never let you notice.
- Imagine walking around only to realize Jester has been quietly following you the entire time. The calm, composed way he carries himself is enough to make you feel just a little tense.
- Don't make this more complicated than it needs to be. Just turn around and give him some attention.
- But if you decide to play hard to get and keep ignoring him... oh, he'll be annoyed.
- Unlike Harlequin, he isn't the type to constantly pester you. If you insist on ignoring him, then fine. He'll simply turn around and go back to his tent.
- You're his pet. You should know exactly what you're supposed to do. Being ignored like this is... irritating.
- He definitely won't dwell on it. No, he won't sit there with his head in his hands wondering if he did something wrong, or whether he should finally hypnotize you instead. No... he would never do that.
- ...Well, unless you come to him with a cup of tea.
- Then he might forgive you.
- Might..
Ticket Taker
- The only reason he'd ever follow you, he claims, is to observe your posture and the way you walk.
- That's just an excuse.
- Unlike Jester, he won't stay completely silent. He'll speak from time to time—but never so much that it becomes irritating.
- If you're dressed well, he'll feel oddly proud. His doll has excellent taste, and now you're walking around showing everyone just how lovely you look.
- But if your outfit is a complete mismatch? He'll walk right beside you and sigh. My doll, if your fashion sense is truly this dreadful, you should come to me for help.
- If you're clumsy, you can bet he'll stay especially close to make sure you don't end up face-first on the ground.
- If you trip over your own feet, he'll catch you immediately. He'll probably claim he was only trying to keep your beautiful outfit from getting dirty... even if you were about to fall onto plain concrete.
- He won't carry you, Princess. You'll walk on your own.
- ...Well, if you're actually injured, he might make an exception.
- Did he just call you Princess? You must have misheard him. He called you Doll... obviously.
Doctor
- He wants to study your behavior.
- Your walking, in particular. Yes, it sounds boring, doesn't it? But he insists it will help his research if you let him follow you around.
- He always carries a notebook and pen, carefully recording everything you do. Before long, you'll start feeling like a wild animal being observed for a nature documentary.
- If you slouch while you walk, he'll absolutely call you a shrimp. Stand up straight, he'll remind you. Otherwise, you'll turn into a shrimp.
- You may notice people giving you a wide berth because there's a large man dressed as a plague doctor constantly following behind you. On the bright side, no one is likely to pick a fight with you.
- On the other hand... your friends probably won't have the courage to come over and say hello, either.
- If you're clumsy, don't expect him to stop you from falling. Like I said, he's here to observe your behavior.
- You tripped? Give him a moment—he's still writing it down. Once he's finished taking notes, he'll come over, pick you up, brush the dust off your clothes, and then continue writing.
- If you're actually injured, you'll be scooped up like a cat and carried off to his tent, whether you like it or not.
- At least he'll treat your wounds... even if he casually tells you he'd like to try healing you with bloodletting using medicinal leeches someday.
Columbina
- She's a spirit, darling. You can't see her.
- Unless you happen to be able to see ghosts. If you can, you'll quickly realize she's a lot like Pierrot—she loves following you around. No hiding behind pillars or sneaking around. She simply stays by your side.
- She usually floats close to you. She loves being near you. To her, you'll always be so small... and so adorable.
- She lingers around you almost all the time—except when you're taking a bath, no matter how tempting it may be to stay.
- If you're clumsy, she'll become terribly anxious. There's very little she can actually do to help you. All she can do is watch.
- If you trip and fall, she'll flutter around you in a panic. She can't help you back onto your feet! Oh, goodness! She wishes she could just scoop you up and hold you tightly in her arms.
- Like Pierrot, she sees you as incredibly fragile. Even if she can't bandage your wounds, she can still place a gentle kiss on your cheek. You might notice a cool, fleeting sensation against your skin.
- She definitely knows that Pierrot secretly follows you around. But she isn't the type to keep someone all to herself. She loves him, yet she also wants him to discover new things... and that includes Harlequin.
- The truth is... she's started falling for you, too.
- You're simply far too adorable to resist.
Carol
- Before she was hypnotized, she genuinely worried about you.
- You might not have been especially close, but she felt comfortable enough to quietly follow you around from time to time.
- If you're shorter than she is, she'll see you as rather fragile. She wants to make sure no one accidentally bumps into you—or worse, steps on you without noticing.
- If you're taller? Then she'll make sure you don't absentmindedly walk into low signs or overhead obstacles instead.
- After being hypnotized, she no longer has the awareness to think things through. Still, if she isn't busy with work, instinct alone may lead her to follow you without even realizing why.
- It might seem a little unsettling, but somewhere deep inside, her subconscious still worries about you.
- If you happen to fall, she'll quietly help you back onto your feet, brush the dust off your clothes, and then return to her duties without a word.
- You'd probably assume Jester ordered her to do it... but perhaps, deep down, it was simply her own instinct all along.
Boss
- He's almost like a father figure to you. Even though he doesn't have much free time and you don't get to talk with him as often as you do with Carol, he genuinely cares about you.
- He notices a leaf caught in your hair. Pointing it out might embarrass you, so he decides to remove it himself. Unfortunately, the café is unbelievably busy, and you're darting all over the place serving customers.
- It's quite a funny sight. As you hurry around delivering coffee, your boss is quietly following behind you, trying to pluck that stubborn little leaf out of your hair.
- By the time you finally realize your boss has been following you, you've just served the last cup of coffee to a customer in a familiar-looking blue suit. (You're probably imagining things... that definitely wasn't Bill... right?)
- If you're clumsy, you can bet he'll keep a close eye on you. The last thing he wants is for you to trip while carrying a tray of coffee and send it crashing all over the floor.
- Besides, you're smaller than he is, so he can't help being a little extra protective of you.
- If you stumble over your own feet, he'll catch you without hesitation—just like one of those dramatic K-drama scenes where the male lead catches the heroine by the waist before she falls.
- Later, when he heads into the back room...
- ...he gets scratched by a very large cat.
- A cat...?
- At least, that's what he thinks it was.
Bonus
Pierrot
- If you were the one following Pierrot around, the two of you probably wouldn't get anywhere. You'd both end up standing there, waiting for the other to take the first step. You could stay like that for hours.
- ...Still, Pierrot would probably fall even more deeply in love with you. His beloved trusts him enough to follow him. To him, that's an incredible honor. He'd gladly take on the role of protecting you himself.
- Even though he'd much rather be the one following you, watching you hurry to keep up with him is simply too adorable.
Harlequin
- As for that little gremlin? You can bet he'd drag you straight back to his tent so he could... well, you know. He never manages to stay off those topics.
- But if he's out handing out circus flyers instead, he'd probably be surprised that you're willingly spending your free time with him.
- He wouldn't complain, though. You look adorable trailing after him—like a little duckling.
- He might even walk around the same building once or twice just to mess with you.
Jester
- If you decided to follow Jester around, you'd probably end up wearing a collar with a leash attached, looking every bit like a pet faithfully following its owner.
- It's actually quite an honor. Jester rarely leaves his tent.
- Not because he's busy reading novels... or anything like that.
Ticket Taker
- Ticket Taker wouldn't really mind you following him.
- In fact, he'd find it rather cute. You don't annoy him all that much.
- He might gently pat your head before shooing you away like a cat. After all, he has far too many things to do...
- ...and some of those tasks simply aren't meant to be witnessed by a beautiful doll like you.
Doctor
- And Doctor? He'd probably spend the first few minutes trying to send you away. He's working with medical equipment, after all.
- But if you stubbornly refuse to leave, he won't actually mind.
- Before long, he'll start seeing you as a little duckling following its mother around.
- Though if you end up splattered with the blood of one of his particularly uncooperative patients...
- ...you can't exactly blame him for that.
