"I know me and Noelle are… getting kinda close, but you’re… still a big deal to me, too.”
It had been three days since the festival, with Kris and Noelle nowhere to be found. After searching for two whole days, asking around town, you had grown tired.
You had spent all day in Castle Town today, not wanting to face Toriel or Carol in the eyes. Especially since they knew you were the last one who saw them.
Carol was definitely suspicious of you, but of course Toriel wouldn't blame you for anything. Regardless, you couldn't muster yourself up to face either of them anymore.
Ralsei was no luck either, other than his attempts at comforting you. But his uneasiness didn't help, only frustrating you more. If he didn't know anything, how the fuck were you supposed to?
Growing tired with your mind turned to soup, you went back to your… Kris’ room for the day and unwillingly gave yourself to sleep, with discomfort growing in your heart.
When you opened your eyes, you found yourself still lying in Kris' bed, with a human figure sitting on a chair at the far end of the room. They were tapping their foot on the ground with a bored looking face, hand on their cheek, watching the floor. They looked... quite familiar. Actually, their face quite resembled Kris' face. But their expression felt off. And the lack of color on their clothing was also not helping.
"Kris?" you called out to them, as you sat upright on the bed.
Their eyes immediately turned towards you, and a soft smile appeared on their face. Straightening their posture, they crossed their legs on top of one another and began to speak.
"Haha... well, wrong. But it's nice to finally speak to you!"
They sounded unusually energetic, which only helped to put you off even more.
“Who the hell are you then? And why the hell are you in their room?”
They raised their eyebrow, looking amused.
"Well, an unwanted acquaintance of theirs, also known as their SOUL. Aaaand as for why I’m here... To talk to you, obviously.”
“What? You’re their SOUL? Then, you… Do you know where they are?”
The figure chuckled, “I guess you could say that. Since I’m the one that kind of made them disappear.”
“What…?” They are the reason? “Where is Noelle and Kris?”
“Huh, it doesn’t concern you now does it?”
You crossed your eyebrows at the figure's sheer impudence, and clenched your fists.
“It DOES fucking concern me. Now speak or I’ll—”
“You’ll what? Beat me up for not speaking? Pfft, to you?” They got up from their seat and started walking towards you. “Really now? The one who allowed all of this to happen, who didn’t bother to investigate further as to why Kris and Noelle were acting so strange, who only cared for the surface level Noelle, who didn’t even notice that Kris was working with the knight, opening fountains? You really think you have the--”
“Who the fuck do you think you are!?” you yelled, suddenly jolting up and grabbing them by the collar of their sweater. Their eyes widened at your sudden anger. “Kris… Kris would not fucking do that, and you have no goddamn clue who they are... and you sure as shit don’t know Noelle!”
“Is that so? I don’t think you would say the same if you saw her like I did.” They let out a sigh. “Especially… that... beautiful smile. Even just thinking about it… just how... stimulating it was... it was so much better, so much more worth it than I thought it would ever be…” Their voice was shivering and they were progressively putting on a more deranged smile as they spoke. You felt your stomach turn.
Pushing them with all your force towards the wall, you shouted “What did you do to her you sick fuck!?”
They let out a laugh. “I set her free, I gave her the wings she desired and made her break out. Something which you never did nor could ever do. And you know what the funny part is? It’s that you could have stopped me anytime. You had the power to stop me anytime you wanted. But you just ignored it. You ignored Kris, just as you ignored what went on deeper with Noelle. And I’m not even going to mention how much of an opportunist you were in the other timelines. You thought you were changing something, you thought you had control because you were the oh so legendary hero of the prophecy. ‘Love found its way to the girl’ huh? Have you found the love you were looking for Susie? Have you changed fate? Were you able to stop them from drowning in that lake? Because congratu-fucking-lations, you now have two mothers left with their children probably dead, because of YOU. ALL BECAUSE OF YOUR FUCKING INCOMPETENCE, ALL BECAUSE OF HOW FUCKING PATHETIC AND CLUELESS AND IGNORANT YOU WERE, ALL BECAUSE YOU WERE AN OPPORTUNIST BRAINLET WHO NEVER TRULY CARED--”
Your fist clenched and your breathing picking up, in a fit of rage, you grabbed your axe that was by the bed and swung it at the figure, completely ripping them in half, with their parts slowly turning into a mud like substance.
As you watched them melting into the floor, you felt it getting harder to breathe and something cold slowly weighing down on your left shoulder.
“in the end, all you ever ended up being was a Susie, fated to do Susie things.”
You slowly began turning your head as a voice whispered behind your neck.
“because...”
A red and black mass, melting over your shoulder, and… Their eyes... Way too fucking many of them...
“in the end…”
You gasped for air as you woke up in cold sweat. With that… creature, nowhere in sight. You got up and made your way downstairs.
---
You walked out of the castle and walked by Ralsei and Lancer and… well, everyone, without saying anything. You heard him and some others calling out to you as you walked towards the exit but you didn’t hear what they said. You didn’t care anymore. You didn’t want to think anymore. You just wanted to get rid of this… anger.
---
It was the dead of night by now. And you found yourself sitting on the bench by the graveyard.
Recalling your mind, with thoughts ringing inside your head as you wanted to just crush your head in to get rid of them, for the first time in a while, you couldn’t hold it.
"Why the hell..." you muttered as the unwanted tears fell onto your hands.
"What the fuck should I have done… What the fuck should I even do now..."
You knew it was pointless. But your words called out to the old man in desperation anyways, in expectation of a miracle, a helping hand. A hand that might come and save you, or at the least... give guidance. But you knew. You knew there was no use. Because nobody came.
"How the fuck was I even supposed to know..."
The words spill out as you dig your hands in your face, your grip growing tighter, pulling down on your eyes whilst a stream of frustration and blue made its way down your face. But you knew. You knew that you were not supposed to know. Because deep down, even though you did not want to admit to yourself, you knew the reason.
Because in the end...
A Susie, is just a Susie.
