Chapter Text
Rin blinked. Another long day at Blue Lock Academy waited for him. Internally, he groaned. The school was far from challenging, but the people in the school were a different story. To Rin, most of them were a bunch of lukewarm assholes who wouldn’t go far in life. Especially one pink haired freak who kept hitting on his brother. It was everyday he saw that antenna headed monster walk up to Sae and whisper god knows what into Sae’s ear. Rin never asked what he said, but it wasn’t like he was too eager to find out.
Bracing himself, Rin walked into the entrance of the school. The usual morning buzz filled the hallways. Not that Rin paid much attention to any of it. Most of it was a waste of time, who wanted to talk to people at the ass crack of dawn? Matter of fact, who wanted to talk to people? Usually Rin’s mornings would go the same. Walk up to his locker, put his things in his locker, close said locker, and walk to homeroom. Simple, easy, and efficient. No one valuing their morning peace bothered Rin during this time (no one really bothered Rin in general other than a few ‘friends’). But on this very morning, Rin could feel a certain bug-eyed, idiot walking up to him.
I’m going to murder that idiot.
“Yo! Minitoshi-“
“Don’t call me that, freak,” Rin glared at Shidou.
“Feisty aren’t we?” Shidou replied.
“Get to the point or get out of my way. Not everyone wants to talk to you. I’m not sure anyone wants to talk to you,” Rin said in an icy tone.
“Yeesh, you hurt my heart!” Shidou responded in a lilting tone, “But anyways… where is your brother?”
“I’m surprised you don’t have a radar that can track him down,” Rin started to move past Shidou, there was no point in continuing this meaningless conversation.
Shidou grabbed his shoulder, “Don’t leave me just yet~ I just wanted to know ‘cuz I haven’t seen him all morning and he hasn’t replied to my texts…”
Shidou’s face was twisting into one of his classic grins. It sickened and irritated Rin in a way that made him want to claw his skin off.
“Figure. It. Out. I’m not helping a lukewarm idiot,” Rin achieved Shidou and walked to homeroom. He heard Shidou call after him but Rin wasn’t going to talk to him for much longer. He could already hear himself lose brain cells from the short exchange they had back at his locker. Sadly, he knew he wasn’t going to get a break from the constant pestering. Rin had the unfortunate luck of getting stuck with Shidou in his homeroom. Usually, he could just ignore the freak but somehow he felt that that was not happening today.

“Itoshi Jr… are you still mad at me?”
Rin snapped his head up at the voice. It was Shidou. Again. It was at least the third time Shidou had asked him about either where Sae was or what happened to Sae.
“Take your obsession somewhere else, lukewarm antennas monster,” Rin returned his concentration onto the worksheet they were supposed to be doing. Obviously some people didn’t get the memo.
“Awwwwww! Don’t deny me like that,” Shidou had inched his way a little too close for Rin’s comfort. He was practically right next to Rin’s ear. Rin cursed under his breath. He wasn’t getting freedom from this freak anytime soon. He was balancing his two options. Either ignore Shidou (or at least try too, the demon had a way of making Rin’s concentration disappear) or two, give him an answer. Rin had begrudgingly settled on the latter. Ignoring Shidou wasn’t going to work at all today. Not even if he really concentrated. Hell, in the past 10 minutes alone Shidou had asked Rin three times about Sae. He wasn’t going to get any peace until he answered with a semi-satisfactory response.
“I don’t know what happened to him. Maybe he was just busy,” Rin finally said.
“Too busy for me?! Ahh~ Well that’s a shame!” Shidou paused for a second and actually looked like he was thinking about something other than finding ways to worm his way in Sae’s life.
“Hmm… it doesn’t look like you’re too busy. Maybe I’ll just stay with you!” Shidou grinned his horrible grin. Rin sighed in defeat. Shidou was never going away. Rin still held onto a semblance of hope that he would get some peace and quiet.
“…Fine, but you better actually work, and no talking,” Rin grumbled. At least he laid out his own terms, perhaps Shidou would actually listen to them? No he won’t, Rin was fooling himself. There was no way this freakazoid would listen.
“You didn’t get a lot done! That’s surprising! Usually you’re the first one done,” Shidou leaned over so close that Rin could feel his breath on his neck.
“Move away you freak!” Rin raised his voice a little, earning his teachers frown. Sigh. It was ok, this teacher didn’t really care that much about what the students were doing in her class, as long as they completed their work.
“But I like being near you!” Said Shidou. Rin was pretty sure he was getting extremely angry. In fact, he knew he was getting angry. He couldn’t deal with this idiot anymore! How foolish of himself to actually think that he could tolerate this bastard sitting next to him! Rin took a deep breath. Getting into a fight with Shidou was not a smart move. It wouldn’t look good on his record; getting in a fight during first period. He had to keep his composure. The freak wasn’t making it easy for him, though. While Rin had been in deep thought, the monster had been rambling on about who knows what. It was like a constant buzz in his ears.
It’s kind of relaxing-
Rin passed what he was doing in shock. There was no chance he actually thought that. Shidou’s constant spewing of crap was no relaxing. It just couldn’t be. It was a disturbance of Rin’a peace, not something enjoyable to listen too. Rin had to stop this nonsense.
”Go away,” Rin said bluntly.
”Wha? Already? Gosh Rin, you’re so mean…” Shidou smirked before standing up, stretching and… sitting right back down.
”But I’m not that easy to get rid of~”
