Chapter Text
"You're failing English... again" The teacher said to Sakuya while he handed the boy a paper with his last exam. "You need to study a lot for the upcoming exams or else you will have to come here all summer" She stated, looking at Sakuya's eyes, giving him a warning with her gaze.
Sakuya bowed to her and came back to his desk, grabbing his head with his hands dramatically. Earning curiosity from his friends.
"What did she say? How much did you got?" Sion asked, already grinning and grabbing the paper. He really wanted to laugh, but he made all the effort in the world to suppress his laughter.
Yushi peeked over the paper too, looking at Sakuya and saying "Hirose is good at English"
Sakuya snapped up his head up at the mention of that name, he looked at the front and immediately back at his friend. "Hirose!?" he mouthed the words violently.
Sion laughed and teased him saying, "It's a good excuse to finally get close to him".
Sakuya shook his head as he closed his eyes, he told them that that would definitely not happen at all.
But now here he is, sitting in front of Ryo's desk. The brown haired boy looked up at him confused, tilting his head. "Is there anything I can help you with, Fujinaga-kun?" Ryo asked.
Sakuya's heart skipped a beat. He tried not to scream from the nervousness, almost failing. "I... can you please help me with English?" Sakuya said almost screaming while he unnecessarily bowed deeply.
Ryo looked at their surroundings, as he shook both his hands trying to make Sakuya stop bowing at him. "Y-yes I will, but please stop" Ryo said, voice wavering slightly.
Sakuya snapped up too suddenly, startling the poor boy in front of him. His lips curled up, his smile reaching his eyes. "Thank you so much" Sakuya said softly.
Ryo smiled back at him, as if it was contagious. Sakuya waved at him, leaving the classroom eagerly.
He walked down the halls with a smile still painted on his face. He searched for his friends, finally finding them at the grocery store.
"Why are you so smiley for?" Sion asked as he drank from his bottle.
Sakuya grinned now showing his teeth, "I asked Hirose if he could teach me some English, and he said yes" he explained.
"When are you going to start?" Yushi asked, his mouth still stuffed with food.
Sakuya's smile dropped immediately, "I.. forgot to ask him that" he said, the tone of his voice lowered with every word.
Sion laughed loudly at him, calling him stupid. Everyone around them would give them weird looks, Sion's voice resonated in the closed space.
Sakuya groaned, he couldn't believe he missed such a important thing. Unfortunately, the next class was Math, and the teacher absolutely HATED Sakuya. According to his own words, the teacher is jealous of him just because he is more good-looking than him.
Yushi doesn't agrees with that, he always says that the teacher hates him because he never pays attention and he sleeps in all his classes.
The longest hour ever for Sakuya finally passed, even though he spent the whole class playing with his phone.
He needed to ask Hirose when they can start with the private classes, if you can call them that. But he was too embarrassed to do so, this shocked the own Sakuya. He was never shy to do anything, why could it be any more different with Ryo. That was what Sion asked him, something to which Sakuya answered sincerely.
"Because he's pretty" Sakuya said, a little too loud considering that they were still at the school.
Yushi looked at their surroundings, then looking at Sion and grabbing him by his backpack as he lead him outside the school, leaving Sakuya behind.
Sakuya looked at his friends confused, eyebrows furrowed and his mouth open as he shouted "Where are you going!".
A voice was heard behind him, to which Sakuya turned around to see who it was, even though he knew from the very first word.
"Fujinaga-kun.. do you have time?" Ryo asked, looking up at him.
"Y-yeah, what happened?" Sakuya stuttered, trying to keep his calm though.
"I wanted to ask you when are you free so I can teach you English.. I know you're busy with the football club" Ryo said.
Sakuya thought for a moment about what days he practiced, when he remembered, he said to the boy, "I'm free on the weekends.. Tuesday and Thursday too, is it okay for you?".
Ryo smiled and he said "Yes, are you free Tuesday and Thursday right after school?"
"I am" Sakuya lied, it was some kind of routine to hang out with Sion and Yushi those days, but they can wait.
"Perfect.. and on weekends, umm.." Ryo sighed as he tried to think for a perfect time, nobody wants to study on weekends.
"Saturday? Around five pm?" Sakuya suggested, earning a approval from Ryo, who just hummed.
"Is it okay if we meet at my place? It would be better, since we won't have any noise annoying us" Ryo said.
Sakuya's mind broke completely, he froze physically. The thought of studying at his two-year crush's place.. he thought he might be dreaming when he heard Ryo calling him.
"Fujinaga-kun? Did you hear me?" Ryo asked, a little concerned about his classmate's reaction.. or the lack of it.
"Oh, yes I am.. I mean, yes it would be great" Sakuya tried to answer properly. His voice sounded almost robotic, like if he didn't want to say too much.
Ryo smiled, he started walking as he looked back and waved at Sakuya saying, "See you tomorrow"
Sakuya waved back. When Ryo finally walked too far, he brought both of his hands to his face. Anyone who touched him would think he caught a cold and that he has a anormal fever.
Sakuya never felt so happy in his life, he walked to his house in absolute silence. Smiling as he watched the sky, thanking anyone who made this possible.
That night, he almost didn't sleep from the happiness. He woke up, he gave his mom a long hug and went to school, smiling still.
"You look stupid" Said Mikoto, his little sister. Giving him a disgusted look as she looked up at him.
Sakuya kept smiling as he said, "Mmm, I don't care" his voice sweet and gentle, nothing like his usual deep and careless one.
They kept walking in silence, only Sakuya's hum and the sound of his keyrings colliding with each other could be heard on the empty street.
