Sebastian's heart is racing, making him feel as if his entire body is in hyper drive. Its not dissimilar to driving an F1 car, but right now it's weird to feel it while he is only pacing around the paddock gates.
He shouldn't be feeling this anxious, but he was waiting for quite possibly the most important person in his life.
He was waiting for Kimi.
Kimi was finally returning to F1 and Sebastian had been counting down the days until this moment. Now it was here and his heart threatened to fly out of his chest.
He was really going to see Kimi again. They were really going to drive together once more. This was everything he had wanted since Kimi had announced he was leaving. Now it was finally here. They would be together again.
Movement at the gate catches his eye and he looks up, his heart tripling in speed as he sees Kimi use his pass to open the gates.
He was really fucking here.
He was really here.
Sebastian isn't even aware of it. One moment he is standing still, the next he's racing towards Kimi and pulling him into a tight hug.
Kimi stiffens in his hold and Sebastian is about to pull back and apologise, but then Kimi wraps his arms around him tightly in return and Sebastian feels like he's come home.
"Missed me?" Kimi asks against his ear, humour in his tone.
"More than you could ever know." Sebastian replies, hugging him even tighter and feeling warmth bloom when Kimi also does the same.
Finally, his life was complete. He didn't need his titles. He didn't need the wins and adoration. He just needed Kimi.
He pulls back, smiling warmly at Kimi. "Come on, I've got a lot to catch you up on."
"Lead the way." Kimi's smile is soft and warm. The smile he only reserves for Sebastian.
Sebastian holds out his hand and Kimi accepts it. Then hand in hand they walk across the paddock.
Sebastian was finally complete.
