Work Text:
People say fae love is dangerous. Sebek had heard people snicker about how they were surprised his mother hadn't eaten his father by then. When his father had an occasional bite mark, he didn't worry.
He knew that's just how his mother loved. She never hurt his father out of malice. She bit him to mark him as hers.
Sebek always wondered what part of fae love he would have. He feared he would just love like a human and lose even more of his fae heritage. It would keep him awake at times, and it took a long time for him to fall in love, which certainly didn't help.
That's why when it happened at first, it felt right and oh so wrong.
Sebek was heading to the cafeteria when he saw it. Two students were harassing Deuce. They were making rude comments and cornering him.
Sebek quickly went to intervene because he didn't like seeing Deuce in trouble. But something changed.
One of the students punched Deuce, and a purple bruise began to form on his cheek.
Of course, Sebek cared that Deuce was hurt, but part of him felt something deeper.
How dare they harm what's his. How dare they tarnish his love.
Sebek got in between Deuce and the students. Once they saw his Diasomnia uniform, they backed down and left.
He dragged Deuce with him to the courtyard. They sat on a bench while Sebek inspected his bruise. That same possessiveness bubbled in Sebek's chest.
A bruise caused by someone else. Some had the power over Deuce to touch him.
"Agh...Sebek." Deuce winced as Sebek unknowingly pressed his bruise harshly.
Sebek's hand recoiled as if he had touched fire.
He felt disgusting. He was treating Deuce like a possession more than a person. How could his main thoughts be about treasure being tarnished instead of his lover being hurt? He had only hurt his loved one even further.
"I'm sorry." Sebek frantically apologized. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry."
"Sebek."
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry."
"Sebek." Deuce grabbed Sebek's hand and placed it on his cheek. "It's okay. When we first started dating, I did my research on fae. I know you might have conflicting feelings right now, but it's okay."
Deuce smiled up at Sebek and gently leaned into his hand. "Will you please give me a better bruise?"
That possessive thing in Sebek roared happily. He couldn't control himself as he surged forward and kissed Deuce. Deuce gave himself to Sebek fully.
When Sebek pulled his fist back and punched Deuce's other cheek, it wasn't out of malice. Deuce would argue it's one of the purest forms of love.
Deuce was sad as one of the nurses rushed to heal it. A part of him loved that Sebek loved him so much that it awakened him. A part of him always longed for a whirlwind romance.

It was just the two of them in the library. Ace was complaining about school as per usual. Sebek sat and listened happily.
"So I failed the test, of course," Ace groaned into his book. "And Riddle was up my ass about it. Did the whole off with your head shtick."
"That's unfortunate." Sebek closed his own book to look at Ace closely. "You are okay, right?"
"Yeah." Ace massaged his neck. "He must have been really upset because it felt way tighter than normal. He apologized after, but it still sucked, you know."
That part of him came to the surface. How dare someone steal his love's air. Only he could touch Ace in that way. Take his breath away in that way.
Sebek rested one of his hands on Ace's neck. Ace looked at him confused for a second but realized the situation not long after.
"Oh, this is that fae love Deuce was talking about," Ace spoke with a tone full of love. "Is it messed up I kinda like that you want to choke me to get rid of any trace of Riddle? It sounds like one of your ridiculous love stories."
Sebek kissed Ace on the nose before squeezing. He didn't hold forever, only until there was a slight imprint on Ace's neck.
Ace hugged Sebek after. It was a nice feeling. It was nice knowing Sebek loved him so much that he wanted to have such a serious imprint. It made Ace feel treasured in a way.

Another thing Sebek heard is that his specific type of fae liked their lovers to be strong. Not stronger than them, but strength was something great.
Epel was one of the strongest people Sebek knew. He never backed down, and Sebek would be a liar if he said he didn't enjoy watching him fight.
He was watching Epel argue with the same students who had harassed Deuce earlier in the week. It was great.
It roared in Sebek. Such a powerful man. Like a Venus flytrap that would snap your limbs off easily. But Venus flytraps could only snap so many times, and they could be so weak to new stimuli.
"Now get lost!" Epel snapped at them. The students fled quickly.
Sebek walked behind Epel and leaned over him. "That was great. Thank you, Epel."
"It's no problem." Flattered, Epel scoffed. "I'm always ready for a fight!"
"Always? Aren't you overselling yourself?"
Plants couldn't always be treated like they were made of glass. Sometimes you had to let the weak ones die.
"What's that supposed to mean?!" Confused and angry, Epel glared at Sebek. "If you're so tough, why couldn't you deal with them?!"
Sebek was also a bit surprised at what he said. He wanted to apologize, but Epel's not backing down spurred him on more.
"They would see my outfit and concede. You don't have that power, though. You might not have much power in the greater scheme of things." Sebek circled Epel like a predator on the hunt. "How much can you actually fight, Epel?"
"What's up with—?!" Epel froze and realized what was happening. Deuce had told him all about it. "Actually, how much can you fight? Do you fight on your own, or is it only for your liege? Am I talking to a man or a two-bit knight?"
The strongest one being left behind makes it all the sweeter. The last man standing was a sight to see.
Sebek happily recoiled. "Interesting. I'll have to think about that." He lifted Epel's hand and kissed it.
Epel found himself drawn to that fire. It could burn him, but if he withstood it, he would become something stronger. Sebek wasn't pushing him to break. He was pushing him to become something better. Epel would be a liar if he said he didn't swoon.

Jack had invited Sebek to Savanaclaw to hang out. It ended with watching Jack wrestle multiple Savanaclaw students. They had called for a fun brawl, and Jack delivered. As an apology for the whole Spelldrive thing, they had started sparring with Jack to help him get stronger. Now, its just a way for them to bond with him.
Sebek watched Jack destroy the other students. The creature in him happily growled.
Seeing him overpower everyone made him want Jack defeated under him even more. To have something so strong go weak under his grasp was an intoxicating feeling.
Jack had already defeated two of them without even breaking a sweat. He was going on his third by the time Sebek took a step outside.
As fun as it was, Sebek was starting to get upset; seeing him touching other people was starting to irritate him.
"Sevens, what is up with me as of late?" Sebek held his face in his hands. "Last week, I wasn't so…like this. Now I'm getting jealous of watching Jack fight?!"
It was giving him whiplash. That's not even considering how he was acting like himself earlier. After bruising Deuce, he was back to normal, and the same applied to Ace and Epel.
It's like things would trigger him and he would turn into someone completely different. He would only turn back when he was satisfied.
"Sebek?" Jack joined him outside. "Are you okay?"
Sebek considered lying, but it felt wrong to do so. "No, I'm not. When I was watching you fight, I wanted to join. I wanted to completely defeat you and force you to submit. I wanted to do terrible things…I even got jealous watching you touch others." Sebek felt that the words came naturally.
"I know this is unfair to ask, but when you have fully recovered, can I please fight you? It won't be pretty, and I might turn into someone you don't recognize and…"
"Sure." Jack cut off Sebek's rambling. "I read up on this. I know how you can get. It's fine."
He gave Sebek a fang-filled smile. "It would be great practice."
Sebek was euphoric. As he waited, that side of him only got hungrier and louder. When he finally fought Jack, it was borderline cruel. He used quick, painful moves and had Jack on the floor in a matter of seconds.
Once they were done, Sebek kissed all of the bruises he left behind.
Jack probably should have been embarrassed at his loss. He knew; if you asked him months ago, he would have. But this felt great. Sebek loved and saw his strength. Sebek was going to fight him more, and Jack was going to get great training in. Fighting a loved one never felt so right.

Markings were a staple in Sebek's house. His father would always have a new bite mark and, on rare occasions, a light scar. It was just love.
Sebek was helping Yuu move some boxes. He had been happy to help.
"What is it you ordered?" He asked while lifting the last box.
"Just some decorations. I wanted to make this place more lively!" Yuu sat on the couch. "If I'm going to stay here for who knows how long…"
Yuu went silent. Everyone knew that going home was a sensitive topic. They tried to avoid the topic altogether.
Sebek had always been a shoulder to cry on. He knew of their struggles and was happy to be a pillar of support. So he was mortified when it came.
Yuu should stay here with me forever. Their world could never treasure them like me. If they do go, however…they need a permanent marker. Something no one could remove.
He felt sick, but he knew Yuu would understand. He had to trust them.
"Yuu." Sebek placed the box down and walked over. "I want to do something."
Yuu broke out of their head. "Huh? Like what?" They looked at Sebek with a confused expression that only made him want to do it more.
"If you ever go home, I want you to have a permanent marker of me." Sebek was a bit embarrassed to admit it. "I want to shock you and leave a permanent electricity scar."
"Oh." Yuu looked like they were considering it for a moment. A beautiful blush began to form on their face. "That sounds great, Sebek."
Sebek held Yuu tightly and kissed them as he lightly electrocuted their back. The mark was beautiful on their skin.
Yuu had a hard time thinking of going home. They had found love here, created a nice life for themselves, and started fully integrating. That didn't mean a part of them didn't miss their home. A new fear bloomed in them when they began dating their boyfriends.
If Yuu went home, they would lose them. That's why they were so happy that Sebek asked to scar them. A permanent mark that they were his and he was theirs. A permanent tie to this world. It made them happy.
.
.
.
"What?! No fair, I want to be marked up by Sebek!" Ace looked at Yuu's scar. "The nurses got rid of mine."
"Same! Why do you get the marking while I get the mean one?" Epel pouted. "I mean, I enjoyed it, but still!"
"Sucks to suck!" Yuu teased them and laughed. "Maybe Sebek just loves me the most."
"I want to be shocked." Deuce groaned. "I want to see if I can handle it."
"Same." Jack's ears flattened.
Sebek watched his lovers argue. They wanted his mark on them. They weren't disgusted by him, quite the opposite. That thing in him growled happily.
"EVERYONE!" Sebek yelled to get their attention. "You can all get a mark. Who wants to go first?"
He watched as they argued and roughhoused for the first spot.
People say fae love is dangerous, but to them, it was something beautiful. He was something beautiful.
