Chapter Text
Karen's POV
The first thing I heard when I woke up from my sleep was the loud beeping from my alarm clock from my desk. I hit the alarm button and turned it off and got dressed for my first day of school, so I got ready, had some breakfast and left. I was running since I thought I was late, but I pulled an older man away from a speeding car.
“Why thank you, young lady, you saved my life.” The elderly man said, thankful for my actions. I helped him pick up some of his stuff off the street.
“Of course, I’m happy to help.” I reassured him before running to school, I went inside and checked my phone. It was 8:28 A.M., so I ran to my class before the bell rings, and I took a seat next to Kelly.
“Girl you were almost late again, you good?” Kelly whispered to me, the usual concern she has in her voice. I nodded and went on with my way with a somewhat good first day to my freshman year of high school. Meeting some new faces, like Nicole, she seemed Friendly at an arm’s length like the others.
Mr. Burlenday's POV
I was on my break alone with Jeffery drawing my dead wife again. I watched him closely, before looking at the desk drawer with 2 stones I found in my ex wife's jewelry box.
“Hey Jeffery...” I started until we both heard shouting outside, it was Colby and Lynn arguing again. I thought about it thoroughly before I left for the bathroom and put the butterfly miraculous on, summoning Nooroo.
“Master, are you ready?” Nooroo asked. I nodded.
“More than anything, plus, I've already learned how to control my powers for 3 weeks now.” I answered honestly, locking the bathroom door.
“Nooroo, Dark Wings Rise.” I commanded, making me transformed into a new purple outfit, my glasses replaced with a butterfly mask, which works like a pair of glasses with a cane. I opened the door quietly and sneaked into the Gym while everyone was leaving for their study hall and I can hear Coach Colby in his office, still pissed off.
“That bitch should’ve kept her little damn mouth shut.!” He muttered, throwing dodgeballs at the wall hard each time. I’m assuming he meant one of the girls in his class or Principal Lynn. I summoned an Akuma and let into Colby’s whistle, giving me control and I put the cane tip near my mouth.
“Track-Star, I am Oak Moth.” I greeted him quietly outside but loud in the inside of Coach Colby’s head while I gave him his powers.
“I have given you the power to seek revenge on those who have done you wrong.” I finished watching him transform into a man of speed before going to my classroom, locking the door.
Karen's POV
Everyone was outside on their way home until we heard loud screaming and a loud whistle. We turned around to see a man chasing Nicole.
“Leave me alone you creep!” Nicole screamed, being picked up by the man while the police surrounded him, so I ran home from fear. I locked myself in my room and watched the news. Everyone was worrying about Nicole, her mother was even crying on camera too.
“THAT MAN HAS MY DAUGHTER! SOMEONE HELP HER!” She screamed out. I took a deep breath until I saw a box on my bed, I never put it there. It was glowing when I picked it up, and right then and there, a small creature flew towards me.
“Karen, thank goodness you found me!” The little creature sighed with relief, which made me scared because why does it know my name?!
“Who are you, what are you and how do you know my name?!” I asked, trying to stay calm, even though I’m totally failing miserably.
“I am a Kwami, call me Tikki.” Tikki introduced herself, making me calm down a bit.
“Is this a prank from Jeffery?” I asked, praying this is a cruel joke. But sadly, Tikki shook her head no.
“No one knows I exist, but you are the chosen one to stop Track-Star!” Tikki explained. I took a deep breath, getting back up. Tikki handed me the earrings, so I put them on without any question.
“Now you have to say ‘Tikki, Spots On!’ and you’ll transform.” Tikki instructed me, making me second guess myself. I took a deep breath and looked at Tikki.
“Tikki, Spots On.?” I repeated, not sure if I did right, but then I started to transform. I got scared while it was happening, by the time it was done, I saw my reflection in the mirror. My clothes were replaced with a red and black latex suit like a ladybug design, and my glasses were replaced with a mask, but I can still see perfectly. Tikki flew to me, eating a small cookie.

“Now you can save the city!” Tikki exclaimed, making me worried and I used the yo-yo to exit my room through my window, making me squeal a bit. When I landed on top of another building, looking for Track-Star until another whistle was blown, I ran to it and grabbed some people away from the mess, keeping them safe. One of the citizens was Kylar… how unfortunate for me.
“Thanks cutie.” He flirted, I nodded and yo-yoed away to another building and saw Nicole and a few more citizens inside a net.
“Hey, can you help us out of here?!” She asked, still panicking. I nodded and tried to loosen the net, but before I gave up someone tapped the net, making the net dissolved immediately.
“Are you all okay?” The other girl asked them, I saw it was she was in an all-black latex suit with a bell on the collar, with cat ears and a belt as a tail. She walks over to me.
“Who the hell are you?” She asked but before I said my real name, I remembered that I can’t tell anyone my identity with anyone, and I’m assuming this doesn’t count either.
“I’m Shy-Bug!” I blurted out, not thinking it clearly but it sounded unique to me. She thankfully seemed to buy it.
“Goth Noir, it’s a pleasure to meet you...” She said before a net almost hit us. We jumped out of the way; I grabbed the yo-yo and threw it up.
“Lucky Charm!” I shouted and it gave me a single red card.
“What is that supposed to do?!” Goth asked, fixing her blond hair. I used my lucky vision and an idea popped into my head.
“I need you to red flag him and say he’s out of line.” I explained, handing her the red card. She took and used her staff to jump over to Track-Star.
“Red flag for aggressive play on the field!” She shouted to him. That got him to stop and I saw a butterfly in his whistle and I took it as soon as he sat on the park bench, chased me down, so I threw it to Goth Noir to break it, she break it and as soon as we know, Track-Star turned back into our normal but still creepy gym teacher, Couch Colby. I used the yo-yo to catch the Akuma and threw it up again.
“Miraculous Shy Bug!” I shouted, making everything that Track-Star destroyed brand new. When we looked at Coach Colby seemed confused like he didn’t remember a thing that happened.
“Where am I..?” He asked and looked at me and Goth Noir.
“Thanks for saving me I guess.” He said and followed the ATM to an ambulance. Me and Goth heard our Miraculous were beeping since it's on low.
“Catch you soon, Goth!” I said before yo-yoing home. I transformed back to normal. Tikki landed on my desk.
“Are you okay?” I asked softly to Tikki, feeding her a cookie. She ate it all in one bite.
“You were amazing out there!” Tikki exclaimed, flouting around after eating my last cookie. I hear my parents' downstairs.
“Karen, Dinners ready sweetie!” my mom called out, I put the box on my side drawer quickly.
“Coming!” I called back as I took the earrings off and hid them in the box I found quickly before walking downstairs to eat dinner with my family.
I’m not sure if I'm ready to become this city’s superhero yet, but I don’t think I have a choice in this matter anymore... Don't I?
