Work Text:

“What do you want?” he asked me.
“Everything,” I responded.
He laughed, “you’re crazy; that’s impossible.”
“Then I want the desert.”
“That.” He laughed at me, “that, I can do.”

“What do you want?” he asked me.
“Everything,” I responded.
He laughed, “you’re crazy; that’s impossible.”
“Then I want a house.”
“That.” He smiled at me, “that, I can do.”

“What do you want?” he asked me.
“Everything,” I responded.
He laughed, “you’re crazy; that’s impossible.”
“Then I want to win this battle.”
“That.” He grinned at me, “that, I can do.”

“What do you want?” he asked me.
“For both of us to survive this,” I responded.
He laughed (or maybe cried), “you’re crazy; that’s impossible.”
He held me as I bled out, as the edges of my vision went black.
The sky and the desert faded until he was everything.
And then everything was gone.

Constructive criticism is much appreciated:)
