Chapter Text
There's a lot of unusual things happening right now. For one, the Seoul wolves are down 14 points in the 4th quarter, with approximately 3 minutes left. The other being that there's a tall and well built orange haired boy screaming his heart out, wrapped in a too big varsity jacket, the name Namjoon splayed across his back. The disappointment from the other teams cheerleaders is directed towards both mentioned boys.
But Kim Taehyung is excited. Not because his boyfriends losing, never that. Instead, because of the adrenaline rushing through him. He can see the determination in the older boys eyes as he calculates the people on the court. The unusual slant in them add a dangerous affect and he shudders as they sweep over him. Something deep in his stomach stirs, he pushes it down to focus.
Namjoon now has the ball and he's steadily advancing towards the court. Quickly, he changes the speed of his drive and trips the opposite team up, taking this open chance to shoot from the arch. Taehyung thinks of how pissed his drama teacher will be at the loss of his voice after the ball swishes in the net. They're only down 11 now, with 2 minuets and 35 seconds remaining. His leg bounces rapidly.
They're an unlikely couple, the two of them. Namjoon is the schools leading athlete for gods sake! He's also the top 1% in the school, (that's so attractive to tae, honestly.) But Taehyung on the other hand, he isn't exactly the brightest or most athletic. He's an actor and a pretty damn good singer. But by the way Namjoon quickly saunters over to press a kiss to his head and calls him gorgeous before the ref calls him out, makes him think it might all be worth it.
And when Namjoom zooms past him, arm flexing as he dribbles the ball, sweat pouring in little rivulets and sticking his blonde hair against his forehead reminds him that damn, that's all his. And it's definitely worth it. Then those same arms are shooting out to drive the ball forward, going up for a layup and purposefully falling back down. The ref calling the foul as the ball sinks into it's mark. The girls surround him swoon and really, the bubbling of jealousy shouldn't hurt as much. Especially when Namjoon turns toward him and shoots a wink his way.
They end up winning in the end, 49-42 amazingly. And even though Taehyung moves to grab Namjoon's duffle, it's his backpack that's being grabbed instead. Namjoon smiling cheekily as he narrows his eyes.
"Hi baby, did you like the game?" He presses a quick kiss to Taehyung's lips before his dimples appear innocently.
"Mm. Course Joonie, you always impress me." The older boys smile only grows deeper as he basks in the compliment aimed towards him.
"Well 'm glad you did love. Hungry?" Right on cue, Taehyungs stomach rumbles and the boy chuckles. "Let me go put my stuff up then we'll order pizza and watch Disney tonight, hm?"
And as the boy walks steadily towards the locker room, Taehyung thinks to himself, YEAH maybe they're unlikely. They aren't anything alike but that's what makes them work so well together. Maybe the girls standing a few feet away are angrily glaring at him, but at the end of the day, it's Taehyung whose going to ride Namjoon into oblivion tonight so who cares. (How else can he show his appreciation for the boys game tonight?)
